Yeah, he said that he had a Corvette that would run times very similar to the Cobalt. Depending upon what the rules are for the event, he uses the car that applies. The Cobalt is street legal so he uses it for some kind of street legal drag events that they have in Bristol several times per year. I think that he has won the last 8 of those in a row (or something like that). The Cobalt has a tube frame so it is not legal for some other points event that is held at different tracks around the country so he uses the Vette for those. I guess one of those races is at National Trail this year and he will be back for that with the Vette. He thought that it was in August. He is from Kentucky but I think that the guy that tunes his cars is from Columbus.

Guy who had the red Porsche was the same guy who drove the 7 second Cobalt. He is 82 years old and has only been drag racing for 2 1/2 years. He was a 5 time motorcycle hill climb national champion in the 70's. He said, "Quite frankly, I did not have the money to get into drag racing before that." He must have hit the lottery or something because he had one hell of a rig and trailer to pull those cars. He was a super nice guy. By looking at him and talking to him, you would guess that he was 55 years old, not 82.

I like the date. We should get some good weather. I'm in for whatever car limit/fee you decide on. I think Doc's ideas were good, even the add-on events. I will try to get some friends from up north to sign up.

Maybe one of the best playoff games ever. Agree that they cannot be blowing 23 point leads if they are going to survive the series. Mo Williams has to step it up. Z can't stop Howard. Sorry to hear about that. I hope that everything gets worked out soon. Friend of mine thought he had his house sold. Buyer had a pre-approval letter from mortgage company. Closing kept getting put of one day, then two days, etc. In the end, mortgage company wouldn't give the buyer the loan. They were taking immediate possesion after closing so my friend had everything moved out and an apartment rented already.

I see your point, it's not like my car is fast either. The whole idea for me would be trying to run 16.9 at 76 on the second run.

Should be enough time to come and race in the morning and then head to the party right from racing. These rentals are a blast and with so few cars there will be no waiting in line.

Sent $ in for another car/driver. He is either going to bring a late model twin turbo Ford XR8 Ute (Australian pickup) that runs 7's or a 2009 Dodge Challenger that has run 10.24 and has not sprayed yet.

You serious about only 30 cars? If so, $55 is a helluva deal.

Motor is stock. I have added a Corsa catback exhaust, CAI, 2800 TC and a CMR tune. The car does not like the hot weather. The best I have ever run is 12.37 @ 115 in +500 DA weather. I did run a lot of 12.5x's on Friday. I was missing my normal 60' times (which are not good to begin with) by 1/10th and don't know why. I don't think it was the track. Thanks for asking! I want to do something with it but just don't know what. I saved enough to put a 426 or 440 stroker in it but I could buy a whole car that would run way faster for what that motor would cost me. Could possibly do a supercharger but would not be able to run much boost with the stock bottom end. Maybe just heads and cam or nitrous and take the most inexpensive way out. I would be happy to get it to 11.49 and just have fun with it there. Any suggestions or do you know anyone in Central Ohio that could do that work and/or tune the late model Chrysler products?
