  1. You're basically on the same list as me once insurance on the bike pays out.

    Infiniti G35/Nissan 350Z - I don't need another VQ

Mustang - Never driven one but 00-02 Cobras seem to be attainable in this price range if you haggle the guy down

Camaro/Trans-Am - Most seem ratted, although I'd own an I-ROC for the lulz

    Porsche 944? - Expensive miata

Boxster - Expensive rear engine miata

    Corvette C4 - Viable?

Classic cars (like Corvair, muscle cars, Beetles, etc) - at this price range it is infinite money pit

Miata is my master plan. A clean NB and a flying miata turbo kit should be feasible for about 11k? outside your range but thats what I'm eyeing as best bang for buck

  2. glad you're okay man.

Don't let somewhere fix your bike cheap! It's easy to think stuff is okay and good enough, then you ride it a few times and the forks are tweaked, the subframe is bent, and things just aren't right.

Yep. Yamaha certified dealer or nothing. It's a 2015 bolt, shouldn't be tough to find a dealer.

  3. Thanks for the info all. The claim process is moving along. Police published accident report today and I had to shut my phone off due to the massive number of lawyers salivating at the mention I had a gopro proving who was at fault.

I hurt all over. Problem is getting to a doctor at the moment as I just started my new job *today* and had to meet everyone with a nice black eye and cut up hands. I'll work with them tomorrow and see if I can get a few hours for this, they'll understand lol

  4. So last night a car pulled out to cross the street perpendicular to me on summit and I had to brake, drop the bike, and slide into the side of it.

Wasn't that fun, but I'm in one piece still, gear did its job.

Other party admitted fault, I have it mostly on video, police and EMS came out.

Now, what do I expect from insurance here? Obviously the bike is pretty beat, all my gear will need replaced, go pro and phone took a beating. Should I be expecting anything for pain/injury? Currently nursing some big scrapes, bit of a limp, and a black eye (just before starting new job tomorrow, woo!)

I'll take any input, and if anyone is selling a vmax hit me up :)

  5. v6. it's black, I'll try to find pics but I don't have any and it's at the dealer currently.

as the volvo retard, thats going to be the 3.2 I6, or the T6 which is the turbo 3.0 I6. The water pump is somewhat a common issue on these.

I'd 100% buy at that price if it was the Yamaha V8.

If I recall this is no simple water pump swap job. Timing belt and all has to come off to be done.

    Yep

  6. Not sure of the cars "status" but I had a rough highschool with cars and I eventually wound up in saturn station wagon with a dumb looking attachment on the front that my parents used to tow it behind their camper. If changing the car is an option give her the ugliest slowest car around.

I hate it and it was definitely a punishment haha.

Also not trying to judge but two weeks really doesn't seem like an awfully long period of punishment from when I was in Highschool 13-14+ years ago. I remember summer long punishments lol...

One last thing, I absolutely would make them pay out of pocket for whatever the repairs, insurance cost, etc. Whether that is in allowance lost, extra work around the house, or literally handing you cash from their part time job. It doesn't get much more real than paying for the damages you cost.

Thats how I learned... I wrecked a car my dad had bought for my 16th birthday and payed it back to cover the cost.

Not saying I'm the best/safest driver but I definitely learned about consequences hahahaha.

On the note of ugliest and slowest, those are often the cheapest and least safe. Old volvo might be a pretty good option though.

  7. I've been busy as hell and have talked to everyone. State Farm is being total shit heads, wreck was not my fault, they want me to pay deductible and pay for rental and all will get fixed. I talked extensively with them and even had it escalated to the "chairmans office" LOL and they assure me that they will not subrogate to get my deductible or rental costs and that I'll have to make separate claims to each to get that back. They also assure me that its not their job to handle this beyond just me making a claim, paying them, and they fix my car and they are not going to work in my interest to get me what I need from the at fault companies.

OMG I'm not good at this shit, totally not a Karen and things always go south LOL.

You're being too polite on the phone it sounds like.

Sometimes you have to be a major dick to get escalated to the point of achieving results. I have to do this sometimes at work not because I want to, but because I know what companies its the only way to yield results.
