I'm a function over form guy myself and I like it. It does look a bit "splotchy" but not bad for a rattlecan job in your garage. Better than rusting to death. If my 'Stang keeps getting chips in the paint, I might have to follow suit.

Andy, Sorry to hear about this, I know we've never met but I'll keep you both in my thoughts. Glad everything went well with the surgery, you both keep your heads up. My mom has had problems (precancerous cells) for both cervical and breast cancer. Stay strong, and her healthy living can only make things easier in the long run.

My father-in-law needs work done to the transmission of his 2000 Dodge Dakota SLT. He was driving up this weekend from Marietta and he says that it is not slipping gears, but that it will not go into O/D and that it is shifting "rough." When he parked it, a small amount of tranny fluid was leaking, but we checked the fluid and it is still almos full and fairly clean, and it is no longer leaking. I have not driven it, as he parked it at our house and wants it towed to a shop to be looked at. Any recommendations? I'd rather deal with one of you local guys than just take it to AAMCO or another chain shop. Thanks for any help.

The photo is kind of bad, but it could be a 6 or 8in Colt Python, King Cobra, or Anaconda in stainless or nickel. It looks to have the famous Colt ridge along the top of the barrel.

A few weeks ago I hit something (a pipe or a piece of wood, I think) on I-71 NB in my 2007 Black Mustang GT. There is a 3-4in long scratch in the driver's side fender through the paint to the bare metal, some damage to my Roush racing stripes, and some scuff marks on the rear bumper area where the item exited under the frame. I am looking to repair all this damage and also to get the car detailed inside and out. Any good recommendations? I have State Farm insurance and they are paying for the repairs under my collision insurance, but I have to suck up the $250 deductible

Austin, I never would have bought the .300 WBY in general, but I won it in a raffle (actually my dad did but I traded him one of my guns for it). It is a Weatherby Mark V Accumark and it is sweet. Locks up like a bank vault, smooth as glass action and accurate as hell so far, I have only shot it at ~100 yards and was grouping .75moa when I did my part. I have it topped with a Burris Fullfield II 6.5x20 and it is very nice glass for the price. I wish the ammo wasn't so damn expensive or I could find a cheap single stage reloader local to reload it on. It is much more economical to shoot my Savage 10FP in .308WIN, but the WBY is more accurate by nature and there is just something fun about throwing those big corncobs down range. If you want to try one before you shoot yours, let me know and we'll hit the range. You provide your own ammo though

How much of a "sniper" are you? Unless you are putting in some serious range time, you may be wasting your time with .338 Lapua Mag or .300 Win Mag. I am not knocking you, I just know from experience that its the operator not the equipment. I have a Savage 10FP in .308WIN and it is plenty to play with at shooting accurately at a fair distance away. It is cheaper, both rifle and ammo, and I don't really need the 1/2 MOA difference. YMMV but just wondering what use you were looking for. It's good shit. I started reloading last year and I do .45ACP and 5.56 mil-spec M193 on a Dillion XL650. I've done maybe 2000 rounds combined, and with effort could easily push out 500 an hour. Fear not, the things are build like tanks, but if you should break something, they will get it to you quickly. I lost a spring when cleaning mine (I am at least the 3rd owner mind you, I bought mine off of AR15.com) and I called and had 3 replacement springs at my door in 3 days free of charge. Dillion is expensive, but in my opinion worth it. Just remember that you can use any kind of standard dies with the toolheads, but I have found that I like my Dillion dies best. YMMV

I'll give it a go. If you look at the inception of the Constitution and the 2nd Amendment, there is much more that goes into the 2nd Amendment that the words that we have now. If you look at the writings of the forefathers, like the Federalist Papers, you can see the the spirit that goes into the 2nd Amendment. The spirit is to give the general populace the ability to resist the government should the need arise, and also to resist that government on a level playing field. They are saying that we understand that a standing military must exsist to protect the country against outside invasion ("A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free state,), but we want the populace to have arms for themselves (the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.") Remember that England had been "regulating arms" to the Colonies for years in hopes to keep them quiet, and also that the first battles of the Revolutionary War in Lexington and Concord were fought due to British detachments being sent to destory military supplies and confiscate weapons in those towns. The forefathers knew this, and they also understood that governments tended to run towards tyranny the older they got, and the forefathers wanted to ensure that should this new "American" government end up tyrannic that the people had the means to resist. Extrapolate this idea a few hundred years into the future, this idea that the general populace should be able to resist the federal military on an equal playing field, and laws like NFA 1934, GCA 1968, AWB 1994, and AWB TBD smack of being totally unconstitutional. According to the spirit under which the 2nd Amendment was drafted, and I, as an American citizen should be able to buy M240B machine guns, M203 grenade launchers, M67 fragmentation grenades, Stinger missles, and Bradley Armored Fighting Vehicles at Wal-Mart with my milk and eggs. While even I am not crazy enough to think that is a "good" idea per se, it is the spirit under which the 2nd Amendment was drafted. "Assault Weapons" (a misnomer, but that is a different discussion) are the last truly effective small arms that the general populace have access to in America that fit the bill of resisting government tyranny, that is why we "need" them. It is also against the spirit of American lawmaking to try and base laws on things the people "need." American lawmaking should be about regulating BEHAVIOR not THINGS. Behavior is what makes things dangerous to people, not the things themselves. Cars/toasters/rifles/hammers/shotguns/nukes can all be used properly if they are used by people that understand the consequences of their actions. Imagine if all laws were based on the "need" of the people for things. Do you really need a 200mph ZR1? Wouldnt a nice Accord be more economical and safer? Wouldn't that 2 bedroom/1 bath house be better? It is cheap, does the job, and is easier to heat/cool. It's ecofriendly! I could wax poetic on this for awhile, but I think that this is sufficient.

I took a tactical carbine class there last fall. It seemed like a really nice range. Seems kinda pricy though, a membership fee and pay to play for the ranges. I think it is the only game in central Ohio for ranges more than 100 yards.

You sure that wasn't a USGI 100 round drum? I couldn't imagine trying to hump 1000rds of .45ACP I have given up on gunshows unless I am doing it for a social activity. Everything is overpriced and the OMGWTFBBQ buy it now gets annoying. I did find some good deals at the last Vet's show, but I spent all day looking for them.

I have a couple of friends, one being a former Marine small arms instructor, who really like Del-Ton. My upper reciever (only, not barrel) on my primary M4 is a Del-Ton and I've had no problems. I would say they are G2G.

Three times, all military related. One was during a homecoming celebration from Iraq, you can see me directing a bus into the parking area. Two, during a report on our unit when being stood up in 2003. Finally, almost every year during the memorial service at Greenlawn for Veteran's Day. I am usually towards the front of the rifles.

The manager didn't check the bill, the waiter brought it back to our table and told me that I had to leave more of a tip. I involved the manager. I would say that I am one of the easiest customers to deal with, having worked as both a pizza delivery guy and in a hotel bar/resturant I know how shitty of a job it is. I will not, however, give a tip that is not earned. I generally tip 20-25% if the service is good, and every error drops that down. I just find it appaling that people now EXPECT tips instead of seeing them as a reward for jobs well done. But, to each his own, amount/tipping at all is a personal decision.
