  1. So, this is from when I was working on a A6 2.7TT but you get the point.. Working on these cars sucks and so does the oil they love to leak. http://www.bonedaddy.net/Fishey/john%20sillaman%20003.jpg

Going to the race track just for a DE is expensive.. If your racing take that number and double/tripple it per weekend.
  3. I am tempted but I don't know anyone and Polaris is the other side of the city...
  4. lol, typing faster then the brain was working...
  5. I had a physics teacher at a local college in chicago who was extremly wealthy and smart. He was responsible for numerous laser technology breakthroughs and patents. Anyways, it was 2003 and he was telling us about this in a physics class like he was actively doing such experiments. Regardless pretty cool.
  6. ZR1... Sell it Purchase 996 TT Modifiy it for the street Buy parts for my 944
  7. Luxury cars lose value like rocks buying used makes far more sense.
  8. Absolutely not A4 is outclassed by a Ford Focus
  9. CTS AWD has a driveshaft going through the oil pan. The Volvo S80 regardless of motor choice is a great car. Obviously the S80 V8 AWD is a quick car and simply amazing to drive. The T6 AWD model is also extremely nice choice. Your looking at around $39k for a nice T6 AWD model new. Also, with Volvo right now your looking at the Safe and Sound plan for 5y/60,000mi for maintance, warrenty, wear and tear. It also has the Haldex AWD system with preloaded diff meaning instant traction when slip is detected.
  10. Depends on what car 924S 16.00@84 maybe? I dunno 944 How hard can I push it.

  12. Common problems. 1. Front suspension Balljoints are known to fail around 70-100k 2. Thermostats can get stuck open so you have no heat to fix requires replacing the timing belt. 3. Turbo feed lines leak oil to fix pull the motor 4. CBV (BOV) failure is pretty common. 5. Engine oil leaks are very common around the cam timing tensioner usually start leaking around 40-50k 6. MAF sensor reading low is very common so you lose about 50hp but eventually you will get a CEL 7. Axle failure due to boots tearing is common. 8. Wheel bearings go out 9. other shit that I don't want to remember... I would own any other car over an audi A/S 4-8 -Your Pal Fishey
  13. I don't agree at all there are atleast 5 other teams I think will beat OSU and 3 of them they still need to play. 1. Cinncinnati 2. Penn State 3. Oregon 4. Iowa 5. Michigan I think OSU will be lucky to beat Penn or Iowa my predictions is Iowa will win Big10. They are 50/50 over Michigan in my eyes. Problem is #2 simple as that.
  14. Anyone here play it? I play on Arthas (alliance) as "TerrySilver" Yes, I am more then aware I am a nerd.. -Your Pal Fishey
  15. Well, buddy you can get the front for around $600 but you have to do it half as often. Again its a problem on the Audis not on the Porsches. I have seen very few control arm replacments on Porsche's outside of racing or early aluminum 944's. Again though this is because of aftermarket support because its such a large problem. Also I only know of a single place to get Audi arms that cheap and they are no name brand made in china for all I know. Outside of that your normally looking around $600 a set of Meyle arms. The labor time to do Porsche arms is way less as well. I must also mention that is the case with the entire car Audi parts are equally expensive but the time interval of replacement is way higher. -Your Pal Fishey
  16. I am going with transport to the place its going to die..
  17. Well, to fix the Audi front end from Audi is $1,800 in parts at retail price. Obviously since its such a problem there are lots of aftermarket players in the game now Meyle comes to mind along with others. Since that has happened you can find the front kit for as low as $306 or so dollars.
  18. Dear, Kid with SRT-4 (aka Billy Badass) Now, I don't really care for S4's at all as expressed in this thread. However, you might want to look in the mirror before you start posting about how you will beat this shit or that shit with your SRT-4. If the car really is a stock turbo then it is without a doubt sucking hard on the bottle nipple for you to rant and rave in such a fashion. So as a personal favor to you I am just going to ask you nicely to stop making such homosexual post about racing this shit or that. If you want to race him simply ask for a race no need to be flamboyant about it. -Your Pal Fishey
  19. Porsche parts cost < Audi parts cost Not that I have to worry about Porsche parts cost at all with my cars. Also, I will agree my car isn't cost effective to get to 600hp so thats why you don't see me trying to get 600hp out of my factory motor. I should also mention that I would do GM ball joints now untill forever over the Audi front suspension.
  20. Buddy, I have been a technican for a long time and have worked countless times on the Audi S4 like yours and they are a pain. First, you couldn't do the timing belt without the camshaft tool and the tensionergaskets (that fail all the time) require on book time 12hours to fix. Now, Obviously if your like me your going to compress the tensioner and work the seals out and clean under them (not an easy task). Also, to even get to that point you need to put the car in "Service position" aka removing the whole front of the car. The control arm failure is extremely common around 100k. MAF sensors on the cars seem to go bad over time on every single one. So your saying parts + tune are 5k and all the labor and parts above are 8K total or about 3k more... Damn, that shop has to be losing money. -Your Pal Fishey
