  1. is Nelson Ledges the track that just changed ownership? I heard this was the case, also I heard the track was in rough shape? Whats the scoop on this place. Also with my M3 I had brake problems big time on some tough Michigan tracks. I was running Motul 600 and Hawk HPS + pads. These pads would just get cooked and you would loose tons of brake power. I would go through front pads in two days of tracking. I do brake like a crazy SOB, but the pads would just fall apart. Well now I got race pads (Performance Friction PFC-01) and the are unbelievable!!! After 2 day they hardly look like they have been used!! Rock hard pedal and no fade, they are a bit tricky to modulate though. I also cut the backing plates off the rotors with tin snips except where the suspension components were close (want to protect from heat). I also put in brake cooling ducts, just got the hose from HRP Racing and build the system myself. Ever since all this NO PROBLEMS at all and the car stops like an monster! just my advice/experience
  2. Man you are 10 minutes from a great Road Racing track: http://www.gingermanraceway.com I've dropped the fam off at town and gone road racing there multiple times. Super safe track with tons of run off, great for a beginner to road racing. Four great straights and couple challenging turns. Its a bit tough on tires but a great time! If anyone's interested I run with a great group of guys based out of MI and usually it pretty cheap at 120-140 a day. They are great and run it pretty loose. I'm not sure if they have any more events planned this year, but I can find out.
  3. Here is some info on the "American" version of top gear. http://www.finalgear.com/news/category/top-gear-america/ I think its gonna be hard to beat the british humor, but any cool show about sick cars is better than watching B/S with the wife!!!
  4. Well i have OEM 18" for road racing and OEM 19" and 19" Breytons for street use. Right now I have the OEM 19"s on there, i'm going to switch back sometime next week Ya it was a 98 with 65k on it. I always have clean shit! Thanks for the points!
  5. I had a bunch of work done to the Supra and even made my own methanol injection system. It allowed me to use 93 octane, but when needed I flick a switch and the car ran like it was on race gas!! It was a blast. I do miss the power of that car, but the BMW is so much more refined and really drives much better. The supra was tons on fun and liked to mess with vipers and porsche tt's and i do miss that!
  6. 8. Hey Guys, I know I'm a lazy POS!!! Got family in from out of town this past weekend and I was unable to lock myself in the office!!! Here is 2 pics of my car at the Ohio Bimmers meet, thanks WINGSAA for the pics! Its the 2nd and 3rd pic. I have the number 5 on the side of the car and the Dinan Badge in replacement of the M3. http://www.ohiobimmers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=618&page=5 TSC - i know those machines in capable hands can pull off magic, just not my hands!! Smokey - thanks for the support and I love your ride. Rest of you thanks for the kind words and sorry the pics are taking too long, check tomorrow and you'll see her!
  9. you too, maybe you can give me some paint advice!! I keep it clean but I'm scared of motorized machines on my paint!!!
  10. 2/32 would be fun in the off camber turns!!! That new z06 is really wide and mean looking, good luck with the project.
  11. You gotta try it, but once you do you will be hooked!! I think its safer than driving on the hwy cause your around great drivers that do predictible things. If you ever get the itch you can come with me cause the group i run with have over 10 guys running vettes. they could give you all the info you need about tracking that car. I know your car would be great on the track, and i would think all you would need is some new brake fluid and some agressive pads and you are good to go!! Hal: ya, I agree a blower would give me the smooth power to handle the corners smoothly and hunt down the other guys on the straights! Those terminators are monsters with a bit of work! Last one I was in moved out on the hwy like no other Mustang I have ever been in. The only other mustang that is sick is that new KR but I didn't get it out on the hwy!!!
  12. I agree, the guys have been getting strong results with the AA. I was thinking turbo, but i think the more linear power of the blower is better fit for what i use the car for. That whole project is kinda on hold right now, don't get me wrong i would kill to have a blower on the car, but i just moved and gotta let things settle for a bit. I'm just trying to get out to Mid-Ohio b/f the cold sets in! What do you drive and do you have a shop?
  13. I was trying to put the pics on as an attachment... I'm at work now so i'll have to get them hosted and post a link in the next day or two... Hal: i have everything but the blower on the car: software, cams, port and polished all 6 throttle boddies, rear end, maf, intake and exhaust..etc..etc. she really scoots for an inline 6. Sol740: nice evo man!!! my best friend that i go road racing with has an awesome evo. he's outta chi town and he has a big turbo kit that AMS (i think, they are a big outfit) tuned. Then we both put a custom made Meth Injection system on it. Dam car flies now!!! We switch cars at the track and that car is just soooo much fun to blast around!!! C6Antwon: you know i was going to say the same thing about vette owners!!! Just kidding, when i track my goal is to keep up with the c5-c6 drivers with hoosier slicks, and usually i can do it under braking and in the corners, but man i need some Forced Induction in the straights!!! I'll get some pics up in the next day or two! Cheers!!!!
  14. Hey Guys, Just moved into the area and wanted to get into the scene. Here are some pics of the M3. Its got the SMG Trans and a ton of Dinan mods on the car. Super sweet and drives better than the old Supra I used to have. I am a track junkie and cannot wait to get out to Mid-Ohio. Hope to meet some people soon!! Gerald I would throw up some pics, but it won't let me!!!!! ******************** PICS ARE AT THE BOTTOM ______________________
