  1. I was prob. just going to post it for sale somewhere. Pretty neat find I thought. Previous owners said it was originally purchased in 1982 he thinks.
  2. Came accross a vintage Accel SBC turbo kit. Un-used. No carbon in the manifold and the turbo has never been installed. Take a look at these pics. Anybody have any idea what this maybe worth? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v487/rich1969/partsforsalepics024.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v487/rich1969/partsforsalepics025.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v487/rich1969/partsforsalepics026.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v487/rich1969/partsforsalepics027.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v487/rich1969/partsforsalepics028.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v487/rich1969/partsforsalepics023.jpg
  3. Looks like it maybe an intake valve. I pumped compressed air into the cylinder with the compression check hose and could hear lots of air exiting the throttle body. Pitch would change if I touched the gas pedal. Looks like I might be pulling the head off. Just for shits and giggles, I pumped a few ozs of oil into the cylinder and turned the motor over once or twice. Rechecked the compression and it went up to 35 psi. So I am going to rule out rings. The motor did not smoke even a tiny bit during driving with the problem. This is going to be a bitch pulling this head out of my wife's astro van. Thanks everyone who pitched me some advice.
  4. It is the 25 lbs of compression in the #1 cylinder that has me worried most. No coolent leaks. I took the valve cover off and both valves/rockers are working normal. I was hoping it was somthing simple like a broken intake rocker/stud. but everthing is fine there. I think I am getting fuel through that cylinder as i could see the wettness on the plug one time I turned it over without the plug wire attached. Wish I had a camera to scope into the plug hole.
  5. Not looking good on the compression. Only 25 lbs, Most others are 125 psi Thinking intake valve. Not poping out of the intake like a exhaust valve would, but I can feel the air going in and out of the compression tester hose. So me thinks maybe the intake valve is not opening and the piston is drawing the air in and out of the exhaust valve. Goingto pop off the valve cover now and see whats what.
  6. Just put in all new plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. Original plug that was remove just had excessive wear and the color looked fine. Going to compression test a cylinder next to it also.
  7. My motor has intermitent mis fire under acceleration as a dead spudder. Idles with a dead spudder. Gets worst right after the tranny up-shifts durning low speed load. Sometimes is ok for a second or two during light throttle/higher rpm's in 1st or 2nd gear. All those problems lead me to think it was spark plug. So far I have changed all plugs, cap, rotor, and wires. Problem is still there. #1 cylinder is warm to the touch vrs all other 5 being hot. The only code the ecu has thrown is a random misfire code. Any ideas?? I am about to do a compression check on that cylinder.
  8. No one in Ohio I know of has experience with that turbo. Try MDC motorsports or Driftmotion. Both of which can be found at Supramania.com I would use Aaron at Driftmotion myself. He can do a full upgrade to a 57 or 60 trim and rebuilt for fair money. The 57 trim is more reliable size of wheel in the stock turbo, but will still give you 400 RWHP.
  9. That car is set up to run 1/8 mile now. With less power last year it ran 6.44 @ 220 mph in the 1/4 mile when set up to run the 1/4 mile. OEM Factory block and head Glidden is their biggest competitor with his 404 inch SBF GTO. It is funny to me that Bob in his GTO is the second smallest motor next to Titan, and both Titan and Bob are beating cars with 2 or 3 stages of nitrous on 600 and 800 cu inch motors. Titan says they have video footage of the run, but will not be able to post it untill the trailer gets back to Florida.
  10. Titan motorsports Scion at the ADRL race in Dallas this past weekend set the new national record in xtreme 10.5 at 4.101 in the 1/8th mile All powered by a 2jz 186 cu inch Supra motor vrs 400 up to 800 cubic inch motors Here are the incramentals of the run 60' .975 330' 2.689 1/8 - 4.101
  11. Should be taking my MK3 down also, maybe we can convoy.
  12. Jamie - You taking it to TX2k9? Congrats on the time.
  13. Do you mean a formula 1 race car motor? I have never heard a inline 4 jap bike that I like the sound of. V-twin jap bikes sound good to me, except for the Harley copies that try to run straight pipes. Now those sound worse than 10 cats fighting.
  14. Good luck on finding a 7m crank, 6m is much more plentiful. Why do you want a 7m over a 6m anyway?
  15. Some states do have noise laws for bikes, Ohio is just not one of them. I live next to the freeway, at night you can hear a Jap bike for 10 miles in both directions. I hate it. Harley at night sounds like music to me. However I do think that being a "throttle jockey" is pretty stupid.
