  1. I didn't say I was for forced vaccinations. I hate that, that's even a thing. Im just frustrated in general that so many people are so against it, not hesitant like you just straight up ANGRY about it. I dont know you but you seem to be educated on the matter. Unfortunately it seems the vast majority aren't. They just repeat what they see on FB and because Biden says to do it they definitely won't do it now. They dont personally know anyone that's died so it cant be concerning. My 80 year old grandmother wont get the vaccine because she is glued to Fox news and somehow she's more concerned about illegals coming across the boarder with covid (she lives in OHIO!) than she is about protecting herself by getting vaccinated. If God is ready to take me then that's what he's gonna do.. She doesn't seem concerned about leaving my grandpa alone with boggles my mind because they've been married 60 plus years. I think there's something in the human psyche where you dont want to do something just because someone tells you too regardless of how much sense it makes
  2. Thanks for taking the time to respond. I didn't realize there were those potential side effects with it.
  3. This was posted in the Nurse Reddit Sub yesterday. Ill just copy and paste for ease of reading. I feel sad and aggravated all at the same time that sooo many people dont have ANY compassion for whats happening. He died in the goddam waiting room. We were double capacity with 7 schedule holes today. Guy comes in and tells registration that he’s having chest pain. There’s no triage nurse because we’re grossly understaffed. He takes a seat in the waiting room and died. One of the PAs walked out crying saying she was going to quit. This is all going down while I’m bouncing between my pneumo from a stabbing in one room, my 60/40 retroperitneal hemorrhage on pressors with no ICU beds in another, my symptomatic COVID+ in another, and two more that were basically ignored. This has to stop.
  4. I listened to this argument with a virologist, immunologist and microbiologist about this topic the other day. The short version is, the virus often attaches itself to droplets in your mouth. These droplets can vary in size. Masking helps catch these larger droplets that carry "larger" amounts of corona virus. 1 individual virus cell or whatever doesn't cause an infection. It takes "some" amount to infect someone. Again not a perfect system but it can cut down on the transfer from human to human. If Im wrong on this someone can happily call me out.
  5. Sucks you lost your dad in situations like this. Isn't Humira an immune suppressant? I know Humira is used for Crohns as well. The medication I take for Crohns makes me a lot more susceptible to other infections and diseases. Im trying to tread lightly here but just because the time frame fits doesn't mean the drug caused your dads cancer right?
  6. Not directly but your comments lead me to that assumption, at least the way I read it. If Im wrong then.. my bad. I am curious to learn more about asymptomatic carriers though. I dont think there is a lot of info out there on it. I think though typically those that are asymptomatic typically turn symptomatic. That's what sucks about covid, spreading it when you are unaware. Iirc masks, etc work way better for cold and flu because when you can spread it and when you become symptomatic are tied pretty closely.
  7. You really think the virus is spread more from the vaccinated people in public than the unvaccinated? Ive met VERY few vaccine hesitant people compared to those that are convinced its either a hoax, won't be anything more than a cold or strictly won't get it just because they are being asked to get it. If you look at a quick stat I read the other day from 13 states from April to July 2021, 92% (569,142) of the Covid cases were UNvaccinated. 8% (46,312) were vaccinated. If what you said is correct its even more obvious how well the vaccine works if people that are vaccinated are engaging in "unsafe" behavior.
  8. Im not arguing those points but it seems to be par for the course. If I had to guess its cheaper to pay travel nurses temporarily than it is to give everyone raises in hopes that they stay long term. I know they've been offering pretty weak contracts to get try and get people to stay but people even leave after signing those, once the word gets out that the H doesn't go after anyone if they break the contract. I know there's been a shortage of staff long before covid started so Im not convinced that they would be at 100% even if people weren't leaving. It's a rotating door in a lot of positions in health care as it seems too easy to just transfer/go somewhere else. But yes, you're right it does seem like it could be managed better but for whatever reason its not. Covid just exacerbates the problem.
  9. Its a terrible situation for these care facilities. Staff fighting back against getting the vaccine only hurts the people they claim to want to help. Im hoping once these nurses/staff realize that its likely gonna be required by all institutions there will be less leaving/resigning. Unless they are going to retire or leave the field all together there wont be much of an option. Unless you go the route of "religious exemption" which so far seems to be a pretty easy cowardly route.
  10. My wife works pretty closely with the ER and ICU at her hospital (its one of the big 3 here in Columbus). Last week they had nearly 40 patients in the ER, some had been there for more than 24 hrs waiting on a room. They have a call list of patients at home waiting to come in as well. The hospital has beds but not enough staff to operate all of them. (Many left to travel to areas with even higher covid cases offering $8k week) Her location is averaging around 40 covid patients. This puts them over 100% capacity. They didn't release the number of vax'd vs non vax'd but if you look at the available stats lets say its 30 non vax'd and 10 vax'd. Id even guess the number is probably 35 and 5. Im just curious if people that are vaccine hesitant/ against it/ scared/ unsure whatever the case may be, understand that there is only so much medical care to go around. Its not an unlimited supply. If you get in an accident, have an emergency you may not be able to get the care you need in a timely manner. Obviously they attempt to categorize the urgency but its not an ideal circumstance. A few states are now rationing care based on survival chances. My wife works in the Cath lab, they did a heart STEMI's last week (bad heart attack), typically this requires 24hr ICU recovery to make sure the patient is stable and healthy after the procedure. The ICU declined this patient to the ICU because they have patients in more dire need. So if something pops up in this patients, he's not really where he needs to be. Im not here to soap box, just share stories of things many people arent aware of in regards to how a handful bad cases of Covid affects more than just those people who choose to just think of it as a flu bug. Getting a vax'd not only drastically improves your chances of staying out of the hospital and or dying, but it might just keep medical care available to you or someone else that needs it regardless whether its covid related or not.
  11. It would be a massive change for someone like me thats lived in Columbus for a bit. We talk about moving somewhere more "outdoorsy", I think Idaho might be a swing a little too far in the other direction. I think my wifes job and mine would require a bigger city and a place like Boise doesn't really appeal to either of us. (brown and tree-less) Its definitely a different lifestyle, at least in the small towns we visited. The people were super awesome though, I will say that.
  12. We wanted to try and get up there but never enough time and it just made the logistics difficult.
  13. Vintage machines Oh and my wifes excitement over this little guy And save the best for last. Some local bourbon.
  14. Thought I'd share a few pics of our trip to Idaho last week. Ill try and keep it mostly automotive but throw in a few randoms. We stayed several days in west central Idaho near Riggins idaho, where we took a jet boat up the snake river. We hiked to a few hidden lakes. We rode rzr's in the Nez Perce Forest. Later in the week we drove east and stayed in Stanley Idaho. Population 69? Here we hiked a bit more, fished the Redfish lake with some grocery store push-button rods, rode rzr's again in the Salmon-Challis Forest. We saw lots of cool wildlife. We spooked 3 elk on the sxs and got to watch them take off across a field. We saw a bunch of big horn sheep up in hells canyon, a few bald eagles, white tail deer, garter snakes, chukars, etc. Idaho is beautiful, I highly recommend it. Snake River RZR XP 1000. My fav machine Pretty impressed with this 50" RZR Trail. Many TIGHT trails that required a narrow machine. Big ole Yankee Fork Gold Dredge More pics below

I expect most of these girls will find another avenue to sell what they want to sell. Its a STUPID move on OF's part though. They'll crash just like Tumblr did.
  17. Yeah, I saw it sitting there just couldn't pull the trigger on it. I dont think I have the pallet to appreciate the cost.
  18. ^ This. My wife totaled our X3 and the buyback was barely under what I could have bought another one for. It was a good car and I could have got parts for cheap but to have a that much $$$ in a salvaged car just didn't make any sense.
  19. Stopped at a couple places in KY over the weekend on our way to Tenn. Didn't find anything real special. So I bought some Bernheim 7 yr wheated whiskey for $28 and some 8yr Western Reserve for $58. Both are pretty good. I think you can get the Bernheim local. It might be my new cheap go to when I cant get Weller SR.
  20. I saw Aaron was down there. I didn't know he was friends with you guys. That bucket is HUGE.
  21. A friend and I are prepping to LS swap his E90 BMW and we are looking for a 4th gen Fbody AC compressor bracket. If anyone knows of one laying around somewhere hit me up. Thanks Derek
  22. I didn't make it this year as I went to NTrails Friday night in the C10 and Cars and Coffee at Lindsay Honda Saturday morning. Saturday would have been a great day weather wise.
  23. I was always a Camaro fan. Dad has a 1st gen, I had a 4th gen SS in high school. I have 2 GM powered vehicles... I just CANT get behind the 5th & especially 6th gen body style. Id take a Mustang 10x over the current Camaro... I hate that I chose looks over the data but yeah..
  24. I posted the dyno from when ON3 tuned it on the previous page. Its feels just about right for the car. Its maybe just a little bit slow to spool up (compared to my TT-S) but I also have a bit too long of a gear in the car. It pulls pretty hard to a little over 6k. Its sorta kinda like my s/c BRZ was but with a good amount more bottom end and some mid range. Plenty of grunt but not too much where it blows the tires off. Ill see this week if ZZP makes any more changes to the tune. I think they might have a little too much boost dialed in. Most guys say these turbos only last to around 22-23psi. I think I saw 26 yesterday while driving around.
