Today as i was checking the Craigslist jobs section as i do 10 times a day, i ran across this ad: Tech Support Specialist needed (greater Columbus Area). http://columbus.craigslist.org/tch/1702681562.html i figured i had nothing to lose, so i sent a copy of my resume over. 15 minutes later my phone rings. it was a recruiter from this company called AnuResources.
The recruiter gave me the rundown, explained to me id be on call, waiting for support tickets to come in for faulty computer hardware at chase branches. she explained to me that every ticket i respond to, is automatically 1.5 hours of labor at $17 an hour. i asked how many tickets per day i would generally see, and she said around 3. which is fine with me, thats nearly 75$ for just a few hours work. id be on a weekly payroll, and i would have to call all the work i do back to the office. seems easy enough.
Im stuck in a situation. my first concern is who the heck is this company? has anyone heard of them before? Has anyone done this kind of work before? whats it like? seems pretty damn easy. It really seems up my ally, and i fucking hate my current job. i dont think this would provide me with enough income to quit my current job completely. i could still work a few evenings if needed. This is the first job offer ive had in the IT field, so i have no prior experience. i feel this could be a good foot in the door type job, and would look good on my resume for future jobs.
what would you do?
