I've read that GM pretty much has what you guys are talking about already into development and we wil have it around April '12. So far it is just being referred to as the "track pack", but it's going to be to the Camaro what the Boss 302 is to the Mustang and there is a rumor the LS7 could be in it. It's also rumored it will be called the Z28. I found most of this info in the April 2011 issue of Car and Driver.

I edited my post with a question regarding that, check it out. I've watched every nice vehicle I've owned up to this point eventually rust away into a pile after a few years ( I have my 87 GTA, 92 SVX, and my 97 Silverado that can testify to that), and I'm not doing it again with this one if I can help it with some preventative measures.

Hey now, don't hate on me just because I love my car and want to keep it forever.:finger::grin2: I won't be quite so paranoid once I get it undercoated and get fresh paint from Clifford, but until then I'm scared to death of seeing rust form somewhere on the body or get bad underneath. Plus come to think of it I will Ram Air by then, so rain is pretty much out of the question unless I put my stock airbox on when it rains and block off my hood intakes and then swap boxes and unblock it when I get there. I'm willing to do it though if he decides he wants to use my car. I've always wanted to ask this and I guess I will now: How do you guys with WS6's and SS's drive in the rain? I've never gotten to really examine one up close to see how it keeps the water out and I've always wondered.

Thats awesome Mark, congratulations! I guess you took my recent comment on cardomain to heart when I said it's time to get that thing into the 7's.

Interested. I have a 91 T/A GTA 350/4L60 auto with 135K miles on it currently (pic in my sig). The roof of it is faded and needs paint, but other than that it's a straight and clean car and runs perfectly. I saw it asked before, but I'll ask again: What happens if you guys blow my engine with this stuff?

From what I'm reading about this car, it sounds like the Toyota version will either be called a Scion now or Scion is getting their own version of it too. I've also read the Toyota version will have a N/A 200 HP 2.0 H4 and the Subaru will get a turbo and 260 HP in the base model and over 300 in the STI version with a 2.5 H4 basically out of the WRX STI. I've also read the STI version will get AWD. Some of the stories conflict with each other, so I'm not quite sure what to believe yet for sure. Guess we'll find out for sure in a month or so.

The weather isn't looking too good for this (at least in my areas report), is there a rain date scheduled if the weather sucks?

If I end up not being able to make the dyno meet planned for the 2nd, I will try to make it to this one. I don't have an LS yet, but I definitely want to hit the dyno in the GTA.

Yeah it probably wasn't a good idea having that story posted up on the net, especially in E Liverpool. Those cars might just start disappearing or being vandalized now that everybody knows they are there.
-
Yep, I just read it. I will have to cruise out there when I get bored and snap some pics.
-
I recall seeing this years ago when I was going through E. liverpool which is about 30 minutes from here. I might have to go check it out sometime and see if they are still there.

As I said over on ls1tech, I should be there for as long as my exhaust is fixed. I didn't know you were in Canton Bob, we'll have to meet up at the Sonic in N canton sometime for some cruisin and food when I'm in the area.

I saw one almost exactly like that in Columbus. I think it was the day of the cookout at Clifford Automotive when I was riding with Tina in her Formula to go get an alternator and it drove by us going the other way. I threw up in my mouth a little when I saw it and I did it again when I saw the one posted up here.:barf:

Me and the wife are hoping to make it, but I will not be showing the car. The rules for the judging sounds pretty damn anal to me from what I read of it and I am way too lazy and have better things to do than to go clean my car with a Q tip and a toothpick to try to impress people.

My GTA managed to tear it's exhaust off last night on a steep driveway and I'm now running an open Y pipe which just isn't going to work. I can't find an exhaust shop to touch it in my area due to no converter. Anybody out there wanna do some exhaust work? PM me with some suggestions/prices.
-
AAhh, I see. Wasn't sure what he was working on.
-
Just a suggestion. They did excellent on the tuning of my car.
-
Try checking out pcmforless. They can tune it and make it run damn good for way less than $500 bucks.

For future reference: We stayed in N. Myrtle Beach when we went last year. Check out the Super 8 motel in barefoot landing, the owners are very cool people and they take excellent care of you there. Plus, there is a huddle house on the property to grab breakfast at that they also own. About two doors down is a place called the raw bar that had some damn good eatin and they even have a claw machine that grabs lobsters for $3 a shot. Make sure to check out an IMAX 3D movie while your there, and also maybe take a fishing tour or dolphin watch out of Calabash a few miles outside of N. Myrtle. Check out Benjamins all you can eat seafood buffet if your into seafood. There is so much to do there, I couldn't begin to name it all to you from the 5 days we spent there. Hope you enjoyed it and got to relax, I know the wife and I had a blast there last year.

Oh thats just friggin' super.
-
Holy shit, that is HOT!
-
Agreed on PCMforless. They have done a damn good job on my chip for my GTA and I plan to have it touched up soon to match the mods I have added. Alvin Anderson at the N. Carolina location knows his shit.
-
Thanks for having us out guys and thanks to Kevin for hosting and giving an estimate on painting my GTA. Big thank you to Anthony for the alternator repair and thanks to Tina for the ride for parts.

I'm trying to make it out there Saturday, but I have had what can be described as a F'd up day today. My truck broke down on me( I suspect timing chain broke), the GTA is currently torn apart while we put my headers and a bunch of other mods on, and the wifes car is having a strange wheel rub problem I can't figure out. With any luck, the GTA will be done by tomorrow and I can drive it out, if not then I guess I won't be making it.
