  1. hahaha - so true on so many levels

Turbs, I agree, I dislike when I am called into a meeting for my opinion and they don't like my idea. So be it, but I dislike when they argue with the data provided then I start to get perturbed and begin to whine to other like-minded people after the meeting. :)

But, if any of you scrolled down through the comments on the video page you will have found this gem-

  2. Im an Industrial/Process Engineer for Norwood Medical in Dayton for 4 years. I have a BS in Industrial Engineering. I do a lot of trouble shooting on machinery and machining process, labor audits (time studies) and much more. Good field to be in, I have seen a lot of job openings in the Dayton/Cincinnati area here recently.

    Good luck!

  3. I do know that you can really hurt children's growth plates by getting them into the gym before high school with supervised lifting. As you said, he liked karate, so i would sign him up for that. As other have said it will boost his confidence and that should help more than anything.

Hope things work out for him!

  4. Ackbar Ive got an 04 GTP and I really love this car. Im not sure with the previous model but if your around 40 mph and hammer the gas it will not downshift because the trannys are a but weak. If you can get a lower mileage car you should be able to do a tune and pulley no problem. I have the fake leather and HUD, premium stereo all of which are decent to nice. The but warmers are nice and toasty, seats are super comfy, brakes are not bad for stock, I average 20.5 mpg and 28 on the highway. If I fit better I would probably get another one but at 6'4" I have to head lean. I will be sad to sell this as HUD is awesome! There is a setting that blacks out the IP, you turn down the interior lights and cruise with just the HUD at night, so easy on the eyes. And for what its worth it cruises really well at 90 haha!

So I'd say go for it or at least take a few test drives, but try to stick to lower mileage cars if you want to mod it.

  5. just saw a cool article on the news about this... toyota says if it was an electronic problem the car would go to safe mode and only idle and an engine code would come up...well they tested it by causing an electrical short which would cause the accelerator to stick and the car never went to safe mode like toyota claims and it had no engine codes....the problem they simulated supposedly could be caused by moisture alone

Here is a little help on the article, and yes it is from the media soo it must be wrong and super biased, especially when the person that brought this to Toyota's attention was told he was wrong. So he went to ABC with his story and now Toyota says it would like to look over the car he used..... anywho read the article he cannot get his test to replicate on other manufacturer's vehicles.

I know sometimes you have mechanical issues, sometimes you overlook an important fail safe in an ECU. I accept that sometimes mistakes happen, but when they do honesty will always be your best policy, not ignoring or sweeping the problem under the rug.

    Just my $.02

  6. The health care industry is always good. I graduated from UD last December with my industrial engineering degree and still looking for work. If you wanted to go with an engineering degree that will stay in demand and require continuous learning would be something like Bio-Med Engineering or to narrow it down a bit more Clinical Engineering ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clinical_engineering )

I wish I had seen this type of engineering before I got too deep into industrial. Good luck with your decision and hope the best.

And if anyone is looking for industrial, manufacturing, process, or quality engineers let me know. (sry to hijack your thread)

  7. Chicken Chunks

1.5 lbs of boneless chicken breast (I prefer tyson)

1 tsp to 1 tbs of butter- i use a small spoon dont really measure to specifics

approx 3/4 cups of Franks Red Hot Sauce more or less to taste

approx 1/8 - 3/16 cups of blue cheese dressing (used to cool down hot sauce even if you dont like blue cheese still use it, I dont like blue cheese and I love this recipe)

Drake's Breading 1/2 box- found at krogers next to the funnel cake mix (if you want large bag it can be found at GFS)

Deep Fryer with preferred peanut oil

    Optional - Hot BBQ Chunks

approx 1/8 - 1/4 cup of favorite bbq sauce, i would then use a little less Frank's

    Disclaimer

When I prepare chicken chunks I do not use measuring devices I eyeball everything so these measurements are my best guesses and shall get you close.

    Preparation

Turn fryer on to warm up approx 350*-400*

Cut chicken into approx .5" cubes nothing exact

Pour half box of drakes breading into large bowl

Place cut chicken in bowl and coat chicken thoroughly

Place chicken in fryer making sure to separate the pieces (the fryer i use only will hold half a batch at a time so i do this twice obviously)

Fry for 3-5 min, check a piece to make sure its done, should be light golden brown outside and white and stringy inside

    While Chicken is cooking

    Melt butter

In a large mixing bowl combine butter, franks and blue cheese dressing, and optional bbq MIX well

Toss or fold cooked chicken in sauce

Serves well with blue cheese or ranch dipping sauces

    Enjoy!
