Wow, another LX & Beyond Nationals has come and gone! First, I would like to thank each and every one of you that was able to attend the event this year and make it even better than last year. Without all of you there is no event. Let me say that again, “without ALL of YOU there is no event.” Thank you for your support, thank you for your kind words, thank you for attending and for all of the great memories. Next, I would like to thank all of the 2009 LX & Beyond Sponsors. Hands-down this is the best group of people that I have had the pleasure of working with “A thru Z”. I only wanted the best this year and extremely grateful I got to work with the best. If you guys only knew the lengths each one of these companies and individuals went thru to support this event (only in its 2nd year) you would be amazed. Without them none of the great prizes, t-shirts, hats or giveaways would have been possible. Please let them know that we appreciate them supporting our hobby and hope they will be willing and able to continue doing it in the future. Whether or not you won an event prize or door prize, please take a moment to send them a quick email, start a thread, send them a PM or send them a message on their websites to thank them for supporting the event and our Modern Mopar community. Also, thank you to Erich and all of the SRT Engineers for coming out on their own time to hang out and talk with all of us as well as bringing out some very cool rides. Anybody that did not attend this year definitely missed out on a great opportunity to meet some very interesting people. Those SRT guys really know how to make an exit!!! Last but not least, I would like to personally thank all of the countless individuals that offered help and helped me make this event happen for everybody this weekend. I don’t want to name each person by name because I don’t want to do them an injustice by forgetting a name (there are so many). Just know that there are some truly amazing people in our community and the words “thank you” don’t capture how grateful I am to each and everyone one of them for what they did. Thank you. There is an issue that I did not address prior to the event because I have always felt that the LX & Beyond Nationals is not about one or two individuals it’s about the entire Modern Mopar community. Day one, when this began in that parking lot three years ago at Quaker Steak & Lube in Columbus, Ohio it always has been about the community and as long as I am blessed to be here it will always be about the community. There was a vendor that I spoke to at the end of the day on Sunday that I want to thank for the feedback and the support (he knows who he is) and his words convinced me that it was necessary to say something. Not many people knew it but the 2009 LX & Beyond Nationals was organized and run entirely by me. I did have a few volunteers help this weekend but other than that there was No crew, No staff and No CHERRY (aka Chuck Green). Chuck resigned from the event months ago and will not be returning in the future. All of the sponsors were made aware of the change and I advised them my intentions were to move forward with the event. They believe in what the event is about and support the Modern Mopar community and without question supported me 110%. This is the first you are hearing of this because a handful of individuals and the sponsors respected my request to not post or say anything about it. There were many thoughts that went thru my mind back then and the months following but at no point did I ever consider cancelling the event. I know that everything was not perfect which gives some opportunity to improve things for next year but hope everyone had a great time. I look forward to seeing everyone again for the 2010 LX & Beyond Nationals. July 17-18, 2010 (save the date) Sincerely. Anthony Carter LX & Beyond Nationals Founder p.s. Car show and Racing results will be posted soon.

Please Read First: Sam R. known to many of you as "OMSRT8" on the forums has again created his one-of-a-kind trophies for the drag racing competition of the LX & Beyond Nationals. Sam is an avid racing enthusiast and supporter of the LX community. We asked Sam to create the trophies last year for the Inaugural LX & Beyond Nationals and I think it goes without saying they were very well received. Due to the response from last year's attendees we asked Sam to do it again for 2009 and he accepted without hesitation. This event is more about car enthusiast, friends and family coming together than any prizes or trophies. Sam donated a great deal of his time and money into these for all of you to enjoy. Whether you see him on the forums or in-person please be sure to thank him for his contribution to the LX community. Thank you very much Sam. The economy has gone way down since we held last year's LX & Beyond Nationals. This was a huge concern of ours before diving into the planning and setup of this year's event. As some of you may or may not be aware our title sponsor FREDERICK CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE was on the list of dealerships to lose their rights to sell new Chrysler Jeep Dodge vehicles. Nobody could have predicted something like this would happen to any dealerships but I want to personally say thank you to Bob Frederick Jr. for supporting and believing in this year's LX & Beyond Nationals. We wish him, the employees of Frederick Chrysler Jeep Dodge and the community of Boardman, Ohio the best in the future. Mopar fans are losing a strong proponent for the brand and the community is losing an iconic piece of automotive history. Thank you for giving back to a hobby and Mopar automotive culture that we are all a part of. The LX & Beyond Nationals has been and will always be about gathering as a family, reuniting with old friends and making some new ones, sharing ideas and experiences and having a whole lot of FUN!!! Due to the down-turn of the economy we will not be able to do an Extreme LX Makeover again this year. Thank you to everyone that inquired about it and we hope that sometime in the future we will be able to do it again. Also, I did want to let all of you know that thanks to ALL of our very generous sponsors/supporters that believed in us and the event we will be giving away $48,215.00 in prizes this year at the 2009 LX & BEYOND NATIONALS!!! I will announce all of the prize awards on Thursday, June 18th . . . . So STAY TUNED!!! One last thing....I believe this may have gotten overlooked in prior posts so I want to re-address it today because its something that is very important to me. A good friend of mine, Ssulin Anne is planning to ride 180-miles in 2 days in the 2009 PELOTONIA BIKE TOUR in August to help raise $2000 for Cancer Research. The LX & Beyond Nationals will be helping them raise that money. Ssulin Anne and “Team Hot Wheels” and some of their volunteers will have a booth setup at this year's event, also we are asking for some items from our sponsors to be raffled off to support them in their efforts to raise money for cancer research. You may also make donations via the Team Hot Wheels website. If you know or have known anybody affected by cancer please help them reach their goal. Every dollar raised by Pelotonia and its riders will go directly to fund cancer research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute. Thank you in advance for your support! Is it July yet?!? Anthony Carter LX & Beyond Nats Founder

Look forward to hearing from you. Hmmm.... Don't think it was me but then again you never know where you will see me. Look forward to hearing from you.
-
I didn't know they were here in Columbus. I must be thinking of somebody else. Yea, most of the problems have been fuel-related. Some of the problems too have been people wanting specific performance results (11-sec, 10-sec) regardless of the side-effects. Also some tuners out there have been doing custom tunes but locking them so the customer has no idea what has been done to the car. Which means they are unable to make further adjustments without purchasing a new tune from the same tuner or another tuner to make changes.
-
I think I have heard of Dynotune Motorsports. Is his shop up in Northeast Ohio? I'll have to check them out.
-
Of course I will be there. (oops! oh yeah, I guess I kinda have to be there)
-
Nope, I work in the private sector. STS looks like a good system but have not heard of anybody that has purchased one. Who is Brian? True. I can't remember the name of the company but there is a supercharger that has a 1-3yr warranty. They made a lot of superchargers for the Mustangs and a handful of other cars. Supercharger seems to be the direction most guys are going for forced induction because it fits under the hood. If they don't do that then they are stroking the motors. Lots of 440's, 7.0L 426's, 392's, etc. Regardless of how they are badged on the outside, you never really know what you are up against until you look under the hood and even then you may still not know.
-
Not the same scenario as tuning a 2nd Gen Neon. You have the option of getting a Stage 1, 2, 3 with parts produced by Mopar. We could not even get a full Stage 1 kit for the LX's. Some parts were never made and I just found out 2 months ago they discontinued making the LT headers for the kit. The economic downturn has really stalled Mopar's interest and enthusiasm for making performance parts. You know that if Mopar is not producing them they are not readily sharing info with the aftermarket to let somebody else produce what they won't make. Tuners are learning by trial and error and from other people's mistakes. Some have been doing this for years and have a baseline for what can and can not be done safely. The introduction of the DiabloSport Predator really opened up the possibilities from performance parts for these cars because now anybody was able to get into the computer and tune. Problem with that is there are no boundaries to the system and you can turn off/on/up/down stuff that you shouldn't and quickly make the engine go BOOM. In the past 1.5yrs I have seen superchargers, turbos, twin-turbos, and twin-superchargers enter the market. Nobody knows how long they will last or how long the engine will last with them installed. Not many are willing to put a warranty behind their product so its scary. I'll let others that can afford to replace a $8,000-$10,000 engine without blinking be the pioneers, somebody has got to do it.
-
My last project was a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am GT Turbo which I sold for my current ride even though I had actually considered a PT Cruiser turbo (until I found out it really does nothing for performance). I have used the forum name "turbobuckeye" for well over 10yrs now so regardless of what I'm driving it will never change. The GM and Ford guys know me by that name as well as the MOPAR guys. I have always been a fan of turbo-powered cars over supercharged ones, to each is own. As soon as the aftermarket catches up and somebody learns how to tune these new MOPARS its getting added....believe that. These engines are not a dime-a-dozen and unlike Ford the manufacturer is not sharing info with the aftermarket. If I had my choice I would prefer a twin-turbo setup remote-mounted. Stuffing a large single-turbo or twin-turbo is not a realistic option on these cars without doing some major fabrication. I have seen a few one-off projects so I know the option is coming...... http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w241/xtreme2425/IMG_3640.jpg http://s205.photobucket.com/albums/bb181/turbobuckeye_ohio/DSCF0029.jpg http://estore.websitepros.com/stores/2081904/catalog/stscharger.jpg http://estore.websitepros.com/stores/2081904/catalog/Charger-Engine-Final.jpg http://estore.websitepros.com/stores/2081904/catalog/DSC06143.jpg http://estore.websitepros.com/stores/2081904/catalog/DSC06550.jpg http://estore.websitepros.com/stores/2081904/catalog/DSC06552.jpg http://estore.websitepros.com/stores/2081904/catalog/08-Charger-Dual-Pump-View-l.jpg

Thanks for the um....warm welcomes. More about me: Co-Owner of the only National LX-platform event in Ohio. (LX & BEYOND NATS), never heard of it do a search via google or your favorite search engine. Mostly into MOPAR stuff, but do have an appreciation for other stuff too. Don't like long walks on the beach. Why walk when I can drive instead? Also, not into bondage other than "beating" people on the drag strip and at car shows. Any takers?... Buehler?... Buehler? More about the car: As with any project its a work in progress. Yes, the carbon fiber is functional since its there to shave weight and it does shave weight off the car. Numbers.... well, we are not quite done yet. There are still a lot more areas to lose some weight. Turbo is on the build list, but until a manufacturer comes up with a reliable model it ain't going on my ride. Let someone else be a guinea pig and burn up their engine. Hate it or love it the windshield banner and carbon fiber is what I like and I build my car for me to enjoy, nobody else. I have also enjoyed winning some shows with it, most recently the 08 Mopar Nationals, and looking forward to many more this year. Nice Nissan Z you got there! Hey, what's going on? Yes, I remember you. Nice to see a familiar face over here. Hope all is good with you. Thanks for the warning. I can see I'm gonna like this crowd. :bangbang:
