  1. ummm yes please! My lancer is in desparate need of an oil change. I'm down for anything thats for a good cause.
  2. What about all the businesses that have huge lots around Easton? Or has this been proposed before?
  3. I just think it falls in the grey area between manual and auto... which it really does. It has clutch plates does it not? I caught a lot of flack for buying the auto, but its been years since I have drove a stick (last stick was an 89 porsche 944 turbo) and with a 80k car, I'd rather not be replacing the clutch while trying to relearn how to get into first gear or how to stick hills. I guess the vette never cost me anything other than extra things ($750/ tire is ridiculous). The only problem I ever had was a mouse stuck in the heater fan, which apparently is not covered by any warranty. I guess an auto to me is something you stick in drive and put both hands on the wheel worry free. I like to have a little more control over the car than that, hence, the paddle shifters are perfect. But by definition, since I am not engaging the clutch myself, I hear your argument as valid. The vette was really the only american car I've ever owned really (89 944 as a first car present, 03 vette as graduation present, 08 GT-R as college graduation present although I have to make the payments -03 vette, and the 09 lancer is all me). Like I said before, the stereotype of american cars I have comes from my immediate group of friends who basically have stock camaros/ stangs/ vettes and think their cars are kings of the road. Meanwhile, while I know my GT-R is slick, I in no way think its king shit of columbus. I'm sure one of wexner's ferrari's or lambo's would waste it, and I'm sure there are a couple CR wheels that would tread all over it.
  4. ohio plates. And I refuse to call it an automatic. Its shifts faster and more efficient than any one of you haters. A week from this coming saturday would be the 27th, and I already stated I have a golf outing in lancaster that day so I will not be able to make it to either the gathering or the track day... sorry guys. Soon enough, I promise.
  5. No its not, its a 6 speed paddle shift. I guess you cant really tell by the interior photo but if you look closely at the right side of the steering wheel... between the spokes you can see one of the aluminum paddles stick up infront of the windshield wiper control.
  6. I am not from gahanna but I was over there this weekend looking at a lot of land and I had the R out for that and for a minute today for a cruise. I usually keep it pretty clean though. I live in westerville btw.
  7. haha, sure, get me drunk enough and I'll spill everything. The aliens, the nuclear reactor... all of it. I don't think so. I would definitely lose my job and probably be ostracized by the US gov't
  8. haha 'was that a cop'. One of my good buddies has a cobra with pipes but nothing else, and he thinks the car is god... it is not. Hence why I probably have such a bad image of cobra owners. He got dusted by a TSI on the strip once, but it still didn't shut him up.
  9. I think its a load of crap. Especially with the Evo. Had they let me drive it, I'm sure I would've fallen in love with the car and probably ended up at the very least leasing the car. The lancer however, I love to death. I drive that car into the ground. I've taken it off road a few times and she holds pretty well. I needed something a little less exotic, and a little less expensive (the R hurt my pocket book) to drive on an every day basis. I have a cracked vertabrae in my back, so sitting in the R seats for a long period of time isn't the most comfortable thing in the world. I'm not stepping on any toes, I'm sure there are stangs out there that would absolutely dust the R in a straight line, but there's nothing wrong with a little friendly banter right? I have never been much of a mustang person in general however. Like I said, I come from a german background, my great great grandfather raced for Mercedez benz way back in the day. http://www.forix.com/8w/f14/os-f14.jpg Thats the old man himself in the french grand prix. They have one of his cars in the Indy museum. Golf is something that I have done since I was 8, and the outing is with my boss, so I can't really cancel, although I would love to save myself the embarrassment. He'll probably demote me after the scramble. And it's not really a brown, its a grey color but it has that brownish tinge to it... I love it. I think it makes the darker accents on the car, and the gunmetal rims look a lot better. Plus, you'll find out when you finally purchase a supercar, buying it in red, yellow, even black just screams 'pull me over'. EDIT: The color is called 'titanium grey'
  10. Niiiice evo btw. When I went to pick out a winter car (at dennis, please, don't ever go there. I just filed a BBB complaint against them) I wanted to at least test drive the Evo X, and maybe just maybe talk about buying it. The douche wouldn't even let me test it. How does that work? In cali, even if its a ferrari, if your interested in buying it, you can test anything. So here they wont even let you test a 30k car? Are you serious? The 27th I have a lyons club golf outing out in lancaster, otherwise I would definitely roll the R out for that. Ive been dying to take him on the track. I'm SCCA registered with the Lancer, and I have yet to take that to an auto/rally cross yet. It always seems like Im either a) too hungover on saturday mornings, b) out of town or c) golfing.
  11. "time for a grande latte enema from starbucks?? we welcome all enthusiasts on this site. too bad you won't get a chance to see the taillights of my inefficient 700hp 4.6 liter. remind us how expensive upkeep is when the $20k transmission in your GTR decides to take a shit on you. other than that, nice collection of cars" Oh puhlease. First track day I can make it I will GLADLY show you the ass end of the GTR. You mustang owners live in a totally different universe I tell you. And my uncle runs an Aamco transmission shop in Crakron, so that 20k tranny wont cost me a penny. "Sure you can. Just do a lap around 270, im sure you will pick up all the parts you need next to the side of the road to build any american car you want." Thats hilarious. I realized in one month of living here that 270 is a god damn NASCAR track. And the mud escape is bullshit. The Lancer does the same thing with the CVT. You step on both cars and at first... they go NOWHERE. Give them 2 seconds to spool up and your hauling ass though. A little more so in the GT-R. You can turn that shit off in the GT-R though, the Lancer, she's just stuck in tar.
  12. no I cannot afford the upkeep of an american car. I had to add I absolutely love seeing a massive chunk of my paycheck auto debited out of my accounts each month... just for car payments. Its a huge kick in the nuts. Hence why I have no cash to do anything to my rides what so ever, but I couldn't and definitely did not want to drive the R in the winter time.
  13. im german man, im not much for american (inefficient) muscle. I appreciate it though, as a previous vette owner. God did that thing use to scare the shit out of me. I always did like, however, when you turn the key how you can feel the body tremble and twist. The vibration at stop lights was always cool. I always was more for the refined throttle notes of say, my R, or the BMWs and infinity's. Even the benz's now are going with the throaty american sounds.
  14. haha. Well with this crap weather, and terrible roads it doesn't come out much. I usually reserve it for saturday nights, taking out ladies and dinners. Other than that, it sits in storage under a car cover.
  15. I'll be around the meets for sure. I have brought the Mitsu around a couple times before, it doesnt have much going on other than black rims, headers and pipes and an intake. She sounds nice, but compared to the GT-R its like she's stuck in molasses. She already has 26k, in one year. As you can see, she gets a lot of use. Its not technically a stock ralliart, but I call it that because its basically a track ready rally car as it stands right now. Just missing the vents. http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j185/matty2431/Lancerold.jpg I havent taken any good photos with the new rims yet
  16. I loved the cali plates. Your ohio plates are so f-ing ugly. And what's up with the front license plate law in ohio? I parked the GT-R outside of a buddies house and a meter cop wrote me a $70 ticket for not having a front plate. Can they even do that if the car isn't technically on the road?
  17. http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j185/matty2431/GT-RBack.jpg http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j185/matty2431/GT-RFront.jpg http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j185/matty2431/GT-RInterior.jpg
  18. Hello all, I'm actually new to the area. I've only been in columbus a year now, so I'm trying to meet some new people. I have two cars My daily driver is a blacked out 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Rallyart and if your lucky, you'll see me pull the GT-R out of storage. It only has 6,000 mi in over a year. I bought it right when they were first released. As a long time Z car owner (all the way back to a Datsun Z), when I saw they were rereleasing the GT-R at Vette Prices I sold my 2003 Vette (it was an automatic anyway) and picked up the GT-R. I'll post photo's when I get a chance. The GT-R is a dark grey color.
