  1. I am very interested in this im building a import now that will be used for drag racing and would be fun and have a competive class. I know the track is not the best but MCIR would prolly be up for it again, if we could get enough people for a few events in 2010. Another idea is at kilkare during there huge drift even they have, they have open drag racing, which is never that good. Maybe we can set somthing up to run a class during this event, which use to be about 1 per month or every other month.

MCIR is Larue right? LOL My old man was just telling me about the old days there. Seems like a smaller track would be more receptive to this on a trial basis. The way I do it up here is to have everyone in lanes 5-6 for ex., then have the starter pull chips to decide who runs who. Makes it very simple.

  2. Good deal. I have an every weekend habit right now, but plan on doing a little travelling when I get down there. I'll be about a month late for the big races, but I guess there's always next year.
  3. Around the country the 275 drag radial is becoming popular for heads up events. I emailed NTR if they would be open to the idea of limited rules 275 radial class on friday nights. Maybe do an event once a month. The manager responded by asking me to come see him in October to get something going for 2010.

I know they tried to do the Boscoe/Holt shootout but it seems as if there is always a poor turn out for this. I think it would be neat to see a 275 class with rules something like 3200lbs, licensed, insured, mufflers, and limit of a 275 drag radial to run a 16 car field.

Racers have been in the 7.70 range on these tires, I doubt we would see anthing like that but probably more along the lines of 9 threw 11 second field.

Any thoughts if people would be interested??

I'd be down for a 275 class. I think if the payout is there, you'll see this class be mid 8's in less than a year though. I've organized classes like this up here, and would be more than willing to give you a hand. Problem is that I won't be getting in state until November.

  4. Since I left Ohio, I've moved around quite a bit.

    Denver

    Memphis

    Dallas

    Western Oklahoma

    West Texas (abilene)

    And now, Anchorage

If I had to move somewhere completely off the wall, I'd go to Singapore. I spent like 45 days there for work a couple years ago. It is nuts. Almost zero crime, English is the primary language, schools are great for the kiddos, Finally, the place turns into a gigantic party at night.

  5. Hmmm good to know! My dad and I are looking to do a carbed LQ4 for a 94 Z28 and this might be an option as well.

It's nice, and sucks a ton of air. Something like 1250 cfm. The EFI conversion is easy with with those speartech harnesses. We just put an LQ4 into my old LT1 car. Let me know if you need any pointers on the swap.

  6. "It runs OK for what it is"

As theres a pic of it pulling the wheels!

    Welcome +rep 4 you sir

With this Fbody our rep will be redeemed!

LOL That pic wasn't at the peak. My car 1/8 mile's better than most. It always nosed over on the big end and would run a 10.0 at like 133. Once this new setup gets dialed in I'm hoping for 9.30 on the full shot.

  7. It's a Victor Jr with an Accufab 4150 TB. It flows tons better than elbow setups. I'll see if I can dig up a pic of my old elbow setup. First weekend out on that setup went 6.18 in the 1/8th then popped a head gasket as soon as I shifted into 3rd.

Here's the video. The other car runs 9.0's and smacked the wall on the same run.

  9. Oh, sorry. Forged 347. TEA 5.3 heads, 237/243 cam, TH350, 9", Pro flow plate on 100 shot on the hit, and the Harris Speedworks fogger with 200 pills when the car comes back down. I'm having some tune issues as of late, so I'm stuck at 10.0's on a weak 200 shot.
