So a few weeks ago I bought a 97 VW Jetta GT for $500 bucks just planning to have a decent safe car that runs a drives good for us get go to the store and for her to drive her damn self to work. They said it ran until they parked it for a while. Right off rip the car needed new windshield and rear window (i guess someone pissed off there chick since it looked like a brick had breached the windshield). Got the car home and in the garage and started looking it over. It would start then shut off after a few seconds. Withen a few minutes I found a vacuum line to the TB that wasn't plugged in. Cleared all engine codes and now the car runs fine. So far Ive changed the valve cover gasket and intake gasket (valve cover was leaking), As well as the rear struts. while putting on the rear struts I noticed that one of the springs i did not need to use a spring compressor to remove or reinstall. So assuming that it was collapsed I ordered a set of 2" drop springs and should have them Friday.
Here are a few pics of what Ive got so far
