  1. true that.. ill probably stick w the s13 unless i can scrape enough together for that red turbo MR2... talk about sexy
  2. So i blew a head gasket in my 92 240sx.. The engine is the DOHC KA (KA24de) I was wondering if anyone would be able and willing to fix the head gasket on the side for me as opposed to going to a shop and having them wax n tax me.. Looking to fix, the sooner the better-- PM me and let me know what i would need to pay you for everything, let me know if you can help me out! thanks!
  3. Well it's a 2k budget if I tick w the s13 but If I sell it it'll be around 3-3.5k budget
  4. Anyone Willin to fix the headgasket on the side?
  5. Ohh shitt.. Damn that's sexy I might have o look into that..
  6. No my S13 is already the DOHC it'd e the same engine just newer and running. Andbyea the mr2 is n/a.
  7. Thats why I was thinking about having someone throw the KA from a 96 in mine. The guy works for kennedy motors down in cinci where I go to school. I really want to do it right which is why I don't want to do an SR. I'm not trying to spend 2k cutting corners throwing an SR in there for it to blow and bring me more repairs. And i know haha if I keep the S13 itd be fixing/throwing a newer KA in it, and then down the road when I have a little more cash flow doing a swap the right way. Its N/A Mr2, and there is no way in hell I would ever say "I have a mad tight JDM sr20 dog". Fucking ricers and dumbass kids ruining their 240s along w 240s owners reputations by saying that shit lol
  8. So what all would i need on top of what youre selling to throw this in my S13?
  9. See i kinda felt the same way about the Miata (not hating i like it and all but it reminds me of a chicks car too haha) and the Mr2 is a non-turbo.
  10. I would love to be able to drop in an sr20 but for 2k i just dont see that happening.. Everything i're read suggests that i would need a 4-5k budget for that.. Believe me im a complete Nissan guy but being in school i need a car that runs.
  11. Very true, I'm actually going to look at the MX-5 in a few minutes and looking at the Mr2 on wednesday.
  12. OK so it's been a while since I've been on here. I have a 92 S13 right now, but it has a blown KA24de (head gasket blown). I have around a 2k budget right now (poor college kid) Should i stick with the S13 and get it fixed, trade it for a 91 Mr2 or buy an MX-5? I know someone with a KA24de from a 96 240sx with only 90,xxx miles on it. He said he would do the swap himself for $750 altogether which includes the swap and the price of the motor. Or I could trade my S13 plus a little cash and get the Mr2 and still have some money left over. My last option is to sell the S13 and buy my buy my buddy's MX-5 for $1500.. any suggestions/advice/opinions on any of the cars or anything at all? and dont bother telling me to buy a ford, chevy, etc I'm not big on domestics.
  13. I have a stock KA24DE (the DOHC one) with 130,xxx miles from a '92 240sx. It has a blown head gasket, still waiting to figure out if the head is cracked. Im just ripping it out and most likely throwing in an RB motor, since there are basically more 240s with SR's than KA's ahha. But yea man join some forums check OhioSX or Ohio Drifting (theres always people getting rid of those on OhioDrifting **Edit** I'll sell you the motor (and tranny if you need it!) for cheap since the head gaskets blown!
  14. I just ended up blowing a head gasket on my 1992 240sx Hatch's stock KA motor, so i decided it would be the perfect time to swap in an SR20det . I am either going to be getting an RB20det, RB25det, blacktop S13 SR20det or an S14 SR20det and was wondering if anyone knew of a reliable place to buy the motor/shop to do it. Im waiting to hear back from Zerolift and Slowmotion, and talked to IPS. Also was wondering around how much it would cost out the door for the swap. I will most likely end up going with an SR due to the ease of the swap, and just sell the KA. IF anyone has experience with this please i would greatly appreciate any opinions or thoughts about where to go. Also if anyone would be able to do it as a side job as opposed to taking it to a shop i'd be open to that. Thanks for any input in advance! Oh one last thing, if your going to talk shit about how everyone has an SR powered 240 or tell me to throw anything other than an SR or RB motor into it (like an LS1 etc.) you can just save it, no offence.
  15. thats crazy. i do not have anything to hide and thats still bs. i like the idea of tracking cop cars tho..
  16. haha. I mean i still have a job just not career yet since im about to be a soph in college lol. But im pretty good w managing my money i love my car and wouldnt spend my money any other way (except on bills first and my girl). It may take a while and some people may say its a waste of money but im addicted to it and love my car. I dont mind how long it takes or money. As long as I pay my bills first i dont mind putting more money into it and thanks i will continue to enjoy it!
  17. NitrousBird- since i dont really have a career let alone decent stable job and am still in school paying off my already huge amounts of debt from just one year at school i dont have the money to paint the hood and im not about to rattlecan that shit. Also even though it isnt white im happy w the way it looks since it is true carbon fiber and functionally vented and not some dumb ass cosmetic scoops i bought from auto zone. I dont see how the hoodpins are useless? so if you wanted to explain to me how you suggest i hold the hood down because the stock latch isnt strong enough be my guest. and i only got blue because it had shitty old rusted red ones. You dont think its possible i may want to eventually get a paint job in some shade of blue or another color with blue accents? However i do not see how a) the headlight mod is rice/dumb, i think it looks good which is all that matters and b) if you want to point out a non ricer exhaust and ship it to me feel free, because my dad payed for it so i could get this car inspected from its salvage title i bought it in and since i will eventually be swapping a turbo engine in it it would have been dumb to replace the cat and downpipe/headers that wont fit the new engine. but no matter, i guess since its not done it looks rice to you, although i disagree, you are entitled to your opinion. You drive a firebird- im not into those nor do i think they look good so but im not knocking it. if you like it thats what matters. You may like domestics for all i know, i like imports. i happen to like clean, lowered imports with certain body kits and wings. Nothing too over the top and nothing rice in my opinion. I know rice- theres like a 4:1 ratio of cars to ricers on cleveland ave. no disrespect i just disagree w your rice comment Whew.. sorry ha ha my ADD med makes me super talkative.. Yenner- Its not my favorite but i was thinking of just making this a 180sx type-x replica but im still unsure.. i dont really know what would look good.. none of that aluminum shit or those dumb invader wings or whatever there called.. i dont want anything huge but i know i definately still want a wing.. Any ideas? And thank you for the nice intro comment and respecting my opinion! **Edit** oh and nitrous bird- im not actually going to drift this car. its my dd. Especially not rolling on stock suspension and wheels. When i do have the money to get this project moving, i plan on just making a fun car to drive w some performance, handling, and visual upgrades. If i am able to ever get a 2nd car for my dd i may think about taking it and auto-xing it and drifting it at the track every once in a while but no, i do not intend to build this as a drift car.
  18. thanks a lot. It was great to come out and meet a bunch of you and see what you're all rolling in! ill def come to more meetups and events!
  19. like i said though im too much of a fan of imports and japanese motors to drop a 5.0 in it ha ha. its not going to happen for a while though so i got time to figure it out. My friend has a 5.0 stang its pretty bad ass.. just had the rear axle replaced too.. off topic sorry. and i dont mind dropping all my money into this i love this car more than anything i dont care how much money and time it takes but ill def think and keep my options open. let me know if any drift/autox events or any meetups come up im trying to get some ideas and get involved in the scene as much as possible
  20. i shit you not i got pulled over for doing 21 in my neighborhood.. which is a 25. we have our own cops, who are assholes to say in the least lol :/
  21. what time would i need to be there? and what swap would you suggest? i chose the SR because it is matches perfectly with no custom harnesses or anything. i had thought about an RB25 but again i would need a lot of work including harnesses motor mounts etc..
  22. Fair enough ha ha. when its done hopefully you guys wont think its a ricer but well have to wait and see. I was thinking about getting coilovers but since a) im on a college kids budget i dont have a lot of money. I'd rather buy nice springs/shocks then cheap coilovers and b) i dont plan on tracking the car much if at all as it is still my only car therefore its my dd.. I heard that coilovers aren't nearly as comfortable a ride as spring shock. I'm still considering it and have a little bit of time since im getting the rear quarter fixed and painted. After that is an S14 5 lug conversion with z32 brakes. Only time will tell if it turns out to be a ricer
  23. I promise you i won't rice it out.. already enough ricers near cleveland ave.. and i bought the car from a guy who works at buckeye nissan, super clean and all stock!
  24. thanks man ha ha im still a college kid.. with a job as a waiter.. so i think an ls1 is out of the question :/ plus i kinda like japanese motors
