  1. Here is some actual research on the topic with facts to help some non believers. Recent research has confirmed what many motorcycle riders have known for years. "Lane splitting" – or riding in between lanes of traffic – obviously saves riders a lot of time, but it's also considerably safer than sitting in traffic and acting like a car, as long as it’s done within certain guidelines, and contrary to what many drivers think, it actually speeds up traffic for everyone else on the road. Riders, please pass this information on to the drivers in your lives. It’s time for certain drivers to get these thoughts out of their heads: "lane splitting is queue jumping," "motorcyclists should have to wait in line like the rest of us," "riding in between cars is suicidal." While it’s illegal in most of the United States, it’s accepted in many other parts of the world, and evidence is mounting that lane splitting is safer for riders than sitting in traffic, and actually benefits car drivers as well as the riders themselves. Safety benefits of lane splitting for motorcyclists One of the key arguments against lane splitting is that, to many driver’s eyes, it seems like a dangerous practice. From a rider’s perspective, this couldn’t be further from the truth. The most common type of accident on the road is a rear-ender. These make up^40 percent of all accidents^in the United States, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. And while most of these are minor fender benders between car drivers, there’s really no such thing as a minor fender bender if someone slams into the back of a motorcycle. By splitting between lanes, riders are able to put a shell of slow or stopped traffic around their bikes and protect against the inattention of other road users. In a^recent Berkeley study^undertaken with the California Highway Patrol’s assistance, 7,836 motorcycle crashes were examined closely, with some 1,163 of these crashes having occurred while the rider was lane splitting. Riders who were splitting at the time of their accident were significantly less likely to be injured in every category than those who weren’t: 45 percent fewer head injuries, 21 percent fewer neck injuries, 32 percent fewer torso injuries, 12 percent fewer arm/leg injuries, and 55 percent fewer fatalities. This is quite possibly because the majority of those splitting accidents happened at speeds between 1 and 30 mph (50 km/h). The data also shows that the safest way to lane split is to travel at less than 30 mph, and less than 10 mph above the speed of the surrounding traffic. Injury rates leap up in all categories when both of these conditions are violated.
  2. Why do you feel that way about side by side and passing a law to lane split? Have you ridden a bike before? Side by side with someone you know is a lot more safe than single. Cars see you easier for one.
  3. Best quote of the entire situation. If I draw my firearm, it's not to blow a kneecap out.
  4. Low speeds stuck in traffic I would love this. The idiots on YouTube no. I've been in traffic multiple times that I didn't feel safe. Getting on 23 in all that construction traffic, sawmill, and waiting on 270 to get on 70e, etc. Hot ass summer days would prevent bikes from getting hot also
  5. I like mine too. H11 50watt Cree bulb. I will say the fans are kind of noisy. But light output is good. I also went with the 5k color. LED top 35watt hid fogs http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/yy296/rocky31186/DSC_8579_zpsaaaec464.jpg
  6. There is a good one in Gahanna. Ubreakifix I think
  7. I posted in clays thread my experience with h11 50 watt led lowbeams. http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/yy296/rocky31186/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20141213_170955_zpsrsmk807p.jpg
  8. The title should be 194 bulbs oem vs led.. We all assumed you were talking heads or fogs as I think most people know that 194 leds are not bright enough for usable light output.
  9. Ah I think all of us were confused. Yeah reverse leds are not bright at all. Headlights on the other hand that have more power are a different story.
  10. What bulb size did you get that is only 100lm? I am running 3000lm h11 bulbs and like them way better than the cheap hid kit
  11. I think the Orange wheels on your Nissan are very blinding..
  12. I have home link in all my cars. So it's not a need of opening or closing with my phone. It's more of a let me know if it opens when I don't want it to. Most people don't realize but most home link buttons work off constant 12v. Get in car, they can get in garage. If my wife and I are at work I want to know if someone gets the garage door open. Also my wife seems to be forgetful at times and doesn't remember if she shut the door after backing out. Easily check on the phone if it's closed or open.
  13. I have been researching the chamberlain myq. It's amazing the technology these days. One can start, arm, check status of a vehicle from anywhere. Arm, disarm a house. Unlock main entry doors, check surveillance cameras and more all from a smart phone.
  14. They have very restricted gun laws but last I read they were still able to have firearms.
  15. ^THIS. A crv fits the criteria, and under 250.. they were recently having 0$ down lease offers but I think it was a little more than 250 a month. With money down it was under 250.
  16. New homeowners, he will realize if it's not broke don't fix it soon enough. :masturboy:
  17. Get an h10, same as my tundra fogs 9145
  18. I ordered my set off of ebay. USA seller 50w H11 LED kit. Was 59.99 for 2 bulbs and 2 ballasts. Right off the bat I like them because they are instant on, unlike HIDs that warm up. They are very clear at night, and a LOT less glare than my HID's.
  19. I dont have any links, but I am buying a set for my CBR for sure.
  20. I will have a review on CREE Led 50watt h11 low beams soon. Should have them on this weekend. A friend of mine has LED on his bike and it is super bright and clear.
  21. Oh there you are, I've missed your such knowledgeable posts. Considering the OP was to lazy to do a search I assumed he was to lazy to go out of town. I added a shop and previous threads on the subject, what did you add?
  22. 23. I would drive the distance for something I will have with me until I die. I would not stay local because I'm too lazy to travel. If you know of a place that does good work then go there. Otherwise you go somewhere that someone recommends and walk out with a mountain dew tattoo.
  24. 2dollarpistol in chilicothe.
