Where do we sign up?
This is to let people know, obviously, about the meet. That track day, will be a test and tune day. No signing up really. Since I am primarily in charge of keeping a fairly accurate tally, people are welcomed to rsvp here and announce they're coming.
-
Absolutely. Edited 1st post. They're not open yet and don't want to put a guarantee on time.

9161 Rainbow Highway • West Salem, Ohio 44287
April 10th, 2011.
Time TBA, plan on open time.
Price $20 to race, $10 to watch.
Primarily for dsm's & evo's. But all are welcomed. It's a drive for those in Columbus, but it'd be great if we could have plenty of dsm's and evos there. Thanks.

This would probably help the National Deficit to a point too.

Deena or a PBJ sandwich?

new manufactors require urea. Chevy and ford have to start right away. Dodge's are required in 2014 to start using urea.
It's just more pollution bullshit. Fuck the EPA

My dad has a 2010, so it's only 650 lb ft stock. He's hoping he might be eligible for an in-warranty flash to something close to those levels, that would sure be fun. It's my understanding that the 800 level motors are mechanically the same, but that the torque converter is upgraded to handle it....
Also, Berto, do you work for Cummins? Can you comment on any possibility of that?
Speaking of working for Cummins, I was thinking about applying there for an internship had I not decided to join the Marines.

Cummmminnnnsssssss

The tt truck wasnt near that it was only making like 550/1100, with a hx60 compound with a stock turbo wastegated at 50lbs. That was a long time ago back before everyone was doing dual cp3's and shit. And it blew up at the drag strip in the staging lanes lol.
Oh, it said ~800bhp so I figured little under 1600 ftlbs of torque.
-
O1 is what had the injector problems, we have had every year between my family in friends and the only problems have been injector cups lifting on the lb7 pulling truck (~800whp) and we put a rod through the side of the block on a twin turbo stock motor lb7. Never a problem from any stock turbo lb7,lly,lbz,or lmm we have had, and all tuned to 500+whp. I would not be afraid of an 02-04.5 lbz.
I'd imagine pushing 1600 ftlbs of torque would blow any stock engine when pulling a sled. But hey at least the crowd enjoyed it.

Just the fact that a dsm is being towed...
-
I dont get it whats so crazy?
Just showin a little love for the duramax chief. Point is not to necessarily single it out. Why? I used my boss's truck as an example. I know plenty of people with duramax's from 02 to 04.5 that didn't have this fuel injector issue.
-
My boss has an 03' Duramax. We traveled all throughout Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, Illinois, and Indiana working tractor pulls. We towed a 45' 16,000lb goose neck trailer. About 80% of the miles on the truck are from towing the trailer, think it hit 115k at the end of the season. It's still rollin coal like a fucking champ. Never struck with the fuel injector issue though.
You guys might get a kick outta this. My first time towing. This was a dsm my buddy bought. This is my boss's truck though.

I'm perfectly willing to admit that by and large, Japanese manufacturers make more reliable car. However, its not as if Lincoln was an outlier of the relaibility study; here's the list.
Problems per 100 vehicles
Porsche 110
Lincoln 114
Buick 115
Lexus 115
Mercury (RIP) 121
Toyota 128 (although one of those was a biiiiiig problem)
Honda 132
Ford 141
Benz 142
Acura 143
Hyundai 148
Cadillac 150
Infiniti 150
Subaru 155
-------------Industry Average 155
SAAB 158
Saturn (RIP) 164
BMW 165
GMC 165
Chrysler 166
Kia 167
Volvo 167
Hummer (RIP) 169
Jag 175
Chevy 176
Nissan 180
Audi 182 (Jones take note)
Dodge 190
Pontiac (RIP) 192
Mazda 195
Scion 201
Mitsubishi 202
Mini 203 (no surprises here)
Jeep 222
VW 225 (Again, Jones)
Suzuki 253
Land Rover 255 (no surprises here either)
edit: obviously the manufacturers that produce on the largest scale have the best chance to offset their problem cars by producing large numbers of cars with very few problems, but looking at brands like Porsche and Subaru you realize they make a very quality vehicle. Now hopefully some of that Porsche reliability rubs off on the Volkswagen AG cars.
Do you have a link to this article? I'm interested in where you found this.

How can I go about getting my account activated, in other words, able to view the forums? Was it due to a lack of effort in the intro? I'm looking forward to seeing what Columbus Racing has to offer, and offering knowledge from myself.
...and yes I understand about the 10 points of rep.

Those really are the mods... I understand the negative rep points for the above post.

Every single maintenance thing has been done. From the belts to the pumps to the gaskets. I kinda recently stopped modding it because I can't really afford it anymore, nor have the time, space or tools. This was the car that taught me everything I know about engines. Kinda had to learn everything myself. I can give a lot of credit to DSMtuners.
Here's some pictures of work I've done. You guys know, just basic work. Nothin that hasn't been done.

Glad to see you on here. Mitch is a good guy.
Hey there James, I cannot find a reason whatsoever as to why I have not taken any pictures of the car with the new rims on it, haha. I have one on my phone that's excellent but can't send it through a message because of the file size...
