  1. Awesome, thanks everyone, these are fantastic ideas. The boat tour sounds awesome, especially since the weather looks to be nice next weekend (I'll believe it when I see it). I think we'll have pizza for lunch on Friday and maybe Sunday, so we can give 2 places a try. Scott- my conference for work (Mon-Thurs) is actually in Schaumburg, so I am going to take the L there Sunday after she leaves, and then I am staying at the Renaissance there for the week.
  2. CR seems to be a wealth of travel knowledge these last few days, so I guess I'll ask too. Heading to Chicago next weekend (Friday-Sunday) with the girlfriend before I have to spend the following week there for work. We are heading up early Friday (around 5am) and she will be leaving around 3 on Sunday to make the drive back (again, I'm staying). So, we'll have around 35 hours of time to fill after taking out sleeping. We are staying at the Silversmith hotel, JUST outside of Centennial park: http://www.silversmithchicagohotel.com/?gclid=CjwKEAjwjunJBRDzl6iCpoKS4G0SJACJAx-VTrvOd5J1T3U_bxFQcrMGjb9Xm_jRbHAYmrWi9XNmXhoCYZXw_wcB Neither of us have been to Chicago, so we are looking for suggestions on the Mag Mile (of course the park will be one of them). We need 2-3 places for breakfast and lunch and 2 places for dinner too. Thanks!
  3. Boom. Anyone willing to wait for the market to cool off to the point that it sounds like you guys want it to (15-20% decrease in prices) better be prepared to live where they are now for 3-5 years. I really do not believe a CRASH is going to happen, just a 3-5% reduction.
  4. Can we get them if we aren't going? I'd rock one of these on my #funcar FX4 all day long.
  5. Yeah dude, you already know you're the man lol.
  6. Yeah, I don't see it crashing anytime soon either. I do see it slowing down, but that was also supposed to the case for the first quarters of 2017. From an investor standpoint, it's a fucking nightmare. I just had to bid 10k over on a 20k house the other day...that's 150% of the price lol. Granted it was a killer deal, but still...3 years ago I would have bid 16k and gotten it. I sold my personal house in Hilliard and set the new highest price in the whole neighborhood. Turned around and got a good deal in Old Town East where my mortgage is $950 and I rent the other house (it's 2 houses on 1 plot of land) for $1500. Deals are out there, just have to be patient.
  7. I believe Denver is #2 in buying right now, Columbus is #3. Shouldn't be much of a difference. Columbus is crazy right now.
  8. Nice- if you need someone to do them, I have a guy that does amazing work.
  9. Damn, these stories make me so thankful mine ended the way it did. I own quite a few rentals and the personal house and I kept it all. Wrote her a check for a small amount and haven't heard from her since. We did try marriage counseling, and I personally thought it worked. When she told me she wanted to leave, I was a bit surprised because I was pretty happy (6 months before I was fucking miserable). She said she just never regained the spark she had before it went downhill and couldn't get her mind away from thinking we just weren't meant to be. Moved out 2 weeks later and dissolution was finalizing 4 months after that (only because we waited 8 weeks to file it because it was around the holidays). Good luck man- kids can complicate things from everything I've heard but I 100% agree with the others- leave your soon to be ex out of it and just enjoy your time with them. Hopefully she doesn't use them against you, that's terrible.
  10. Holy fuck...people really pay this much for windows? Not even trying to be a dick, I'm just surprised. At my old house in Hilliard, I had 15 windows replaced with what I assume were very high quality windows (I loved them)- it was under $4k, and it was done by a company. For what it's worth, it was done by Diamond Construction in Hilliard. Dan Marshall was my guy, 614-679-1866.
  11. Working until you're 65 and praying for SSI lol
  12. I finance all of my cars for as long as possible. I know I'll get shit for this, but welcome to the Kitchen. I can make more with my money than the .5% interest rate difference it takes to finance as long as possible (the truck is 75 months). I also don't keep them long enough to matter
  13. JP, holy fuck. I'm still looking for the EXACT thing I said in the original post. I know I didn't mention a truck, because it's not a fun car. I'm still looking for a fun car, same as always. I've been talking to the white coupe 335 in Cinci. Might go look at it Saturday.
  14. LOL I just spent a shit load of money yesterday, I need a month to collect rent to recover. I also need to sell my 1500.
  15. Looks to be a great deal on a nice trailer!
  16. I'd still like to keep an eye out for a 335 or 350Z. Those seem to be the leading candidates at this point. Honestly, I'm not a big fan of Miata's but they keep coming up as the "car to get" if I want something fun, cheap and good handling. So I may put those back in play.
  17. Sorry to hear that man, I just finalized mine in February but with no kids, it was quite simple. One piece of advice: watch what you say on here. In the first page, you've called her a cunt and disclosed where things are hidden. A good attorney will find that.
  18. Here are a couple pics. I crossed over 40k miles on the way home (bought it with 39,950) and it's completely loaded with every option available except the tailgate step ladder and bed liner (no idea why there isn't a bed liner but there's a tonneau cover)- I'm most excited about a sunroof, A/C seats and remote start, things my Caddy didn't have. The only plans I have are tint, a spray in liner and a tune to help with gas mileage (although I averaged 19.5 on the way home yesterday). http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y225/chopperman19/IMG_8923_zpso1sg7aea.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y225/chopperman19/IMG_8924_zpsaz8rlcey.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y225/chopperman19/IMG_8927_zpsagitoibo.jpg
  19. I had a less than desirable experience as well. Obviously I won't be posting a review, but I was disappointed by the lack of communication (and by lack, I mean it ceased to exist) based on the other reviews here. I had really high expectations, but I eventually got tired of waiting 2-3 days for a text, and then never, so I gave up. I'm sure some will think I couldn't decide on a vehicle, but this is back when I was 100% on an F-150. No other vehicles were even discussed.
  20. Dude you'd spend 6 months just trying to figure out what fuckery he did. Cool concept, but execution would be really tough.
  21. LOL...I was going to comment that the other day but figured he didn't read my thread. 10/10. I take it.
  22. Really? I go there pretty often for work and I think it's a pretty nice state. DC sucks since I've already seen all the worthwhile stuff, but I like the Maryland/Virginia area.
