  1. You have to use an AWD car (Audi) on Forza 3 if you plan on competing with anything. So far that issue seems to be fixed in Forza 4.
  2. This game looks bloody brilliant, can't wait 'til Tuesday!

    RIP Steve

I've never thought of him as much of an inventor or creator, but rather an innovator... new ways of using/doing old things, for which I'll have eternal respect for him. RIP
  4. I scheduled an appointment on the 19th, can you do the job please
  5. Depends, I don't think anyone can argue that more Subarus can be seen in the snow... Sure an Evo can make more power easily, but Subarus are more practical.
  6. Having lived in Georgia, Indiana, and Texas, I agree 250% with OP. But you're still a whiny bitch.
  7. Pre 2008, the numbers are nowhere close. The WRXs, at least in stock form, were turds. But they could be built (read: COMPLETELY rebuilt) to make stupid power, just like any turbo car. Honestly based on what you're saying, it sounds like you should get a 2005ish Legacy GT, get a catback/turboback exhaust, and have a blast. There's tons of aftermarket support, albeit a little less than the WRX/STi platform, but still plenty of choices and lots of quality parts. Suspension and handling though, is a whole 'nother story. Pre 2011, from a WRX anyway, don't expect much. STis were fine obviously. I know you're saying used, but if there's any possible way you could afford it, the 2011 WRX would not dissappoint. It was a pretty huge upgrade.
  8. Car and Driver's Lightning Lap had the 2011 WRX 3 seconds slower than the STi. And for $7k, you can EASILY make up 3 seconds... and there's a few "official" quarter mile tests that show the 2010+ WRX as fast or even faster than the STi.
  9. Heh, sorry. Just reread that and you're right, especially for someone trying to learn how to Subaru. I've been alt-tabbing between here and NASIOC all day :masturboy: Brandon - By stage 2 I meant catback exhaust and downpipe//turboback, whatever. Stage 3 I meant that plus fuel pump, injectors, etc. Also, I forgot to mention, but you'd probably want to avoid a car with a blow off valve. They won't hurt if done properly, but can wreck havoc on the engine very easily. Generally not worth buying a car with one already on it. Subarus are just very sensitive to any air flow changes and need to be handled with care. That's not to say they can't take them (of course) though. Sorry.
  10. Also, it's common knowledge in the Subie community but just an FYI: The uneven length headers are what make the rumble. You can make far more power with equal length, but you'll lose the sound!
  11. Direct answer: No. To really get some use out of a bigger turbo, you're going to need either a FMIC setup, or a larger surface area TMIC. Almost every larger TMIC is going to require custom pipework, and even then, there's countless cases of fitment issues and whatnot all over NASIOC. It's not impossible though, just not probable. If you're gonna upgrade the turbo, save the headache and get a FMIC. However, if you're looking at either an STi or a more recent WRX, the stock turbo can truly take a beating. Very reputable tuners have been able to churn out 350-400 AWHP out of the stock turbo, granted that's going to require full bolt ons, larger fuel pump, e85 likely, etc.
  12. A stage 2 Subaru is stupid reliable, and you can expect 100k miles no question. Read the entirety of NASIOC.com's forums and you'll be set! 300 wheel horsepower is completely achievable without sacrificing anything, and your car will still be a breeze to drive in the snow. Any pre-2008 Subaru with a cold air intake has either had some serious modifications done to it, or the internals have been beat to piss. CAIs were highly NOT recommended for pre-2008s, unless you had a 400+ HP build. Don't be afraid of FMICs, they're actually a lot easier to work with than the stock TMIC setup - but obviously it's more piping to inspect, and is typically signs of a stage 3+ car, which may have been trashed. ALSO: Any air flow related modification (exhaust, downpipe, uppipe, anything...) absolutely NEEDS to be tuned for, or you can expect some trouble.
  13. Cool, I'll buy it. I may have to make it two trips (the top shelving part can come off right?), but I'm right down the road from you on 161.
  14. And no other school/team/professional entity has ever done anything of the sort before.
  15. Oklahoma wins the national championship.
  16. Model year 08/09 EJ25s had major issues, but other than that, Subarus are VERY reliable.
  17. if you're fast and you win $$$$ it's a car payment lol
