Heavily contemplating coming out for this... I've never done a track day before, but I've got 5 autocross events under my belt. I have a 2011 WRX, stock brakes and stock summer tires, would my car be able to survive? I'm also not interested in racing bumper to bumper with more advanced folks, I'd like to pace myself around the track and avoid any and all damage... does anyone have any insight into how the novice class is run?

Yes sir, Nameless axleback "exhaust", Perrin downpipe, Perrin cold air intake, STi wing, Pioneer HD5200 headunit (makes a HUGE difference), and I'll be protuned by Eric of Applied Tuning on April 5th.

In the newer WRXs, unless yours came with factory HIDs you'll need to do the squirrel finder mod. They aim pretty high by default and have a lot of glare, but all you need to eliminate it is bend the little piece of metal in the projectors, and you can do it by hand. I have them in my WRX too and they're fantastic.

Good intro and welcome to the group. You just missed a nice Subi turnout at our Cars and Coffee event too. Keep an eye out for the next one. You can't yet see the thread, but here are some pics I took. Others have more.
Nice pictures sir! I did hear about that from COS but unfortunately I did work this morning. Definitely plan on making a showing at the next Cars and Coffee meet though!

Hey guys, my name is Andrew. I bought a 2011 WRX sedan last October and now that it's getting a little warmer I'm trying to mix and mingle a little bit with the various automotive clubs. A little about myself - I'm 22 years old and I work for Chase at the McCoy Center at Polaris (quite a few nice cars up there too). I moved up here a couple years ago from Atlanta in pursuit of a computer science degree from THE Ohio State University. I grew up here when I was younger and I've always wanted to graduate a Buckeye. In my free time I'm pretty much a nerd, the usual Xbox 360 games, etc. I love watching college football in the fall, and the happiest moment of my life thus far was watching the Steelers lose the Super Bowl.

This is my car. Performance wise it's bone stock, but I'm ordering an AccessPort, Perrin catback and Perrin CAI. Window tint is 20% in the back, 35% on the front sides. 5000k HIDs, and I've just had the STi spoiler put on the car as well. I absolutely love this car and am a very proud owner.

Yeah, this was an absolute blast! First time I've ever done anything like this, and I definitely plan on coming out again. Huge thanks to Jon (orangedot) for letting me tag along with him and his father, made the experience THAT much better. You guys are very friendly folks! Thanks to Shawn as well for organizing this, and everyone that helped make it possible. Wide range of cars and it was nice to push it!
Next time I'll try to stay off the grass...
