I did an ARM as well from Mark. It was the best option for me and what my plans are.

Not a bad idea- I do intend on either powdercoating the stock wheels or getting some sort of black wheel. For the first time ever, I actually bought the wheel/tire package through the dealer. $10/month but it covers aftermarket wheels (except Chrome) and tires for the life of my loan. Curbing, bending, potholes, blown out tires, etc.
Yup, as Taylor mentions below, that's on the list. Good call.
I didn't realize the front end has changed...50 miles on the car so far and it's fun as hell. It's surprisingly fast!
And yeah, white DEFINITELY pops on this car.
Yup your front end is a little more aggressive than mine.

Well, here she is. Trying to get something set up at Slomo to install my stage 2 downpipe and then TC Kline is doing my APR flash. That’ll put the car around 270whp/320wtq. I’ll take it.
Truck is gone too

Love it man, glad you got it. I do like that front end over mine. I think these look best in white, hence why I got one too!
You better get a DSG tune if you don't want it to slip...I told Brad to do it. I told him that I went with it to get rid of the slip. Also mentioned tires since these most likely will suck.

I hope models in that condition are not selling for 43k

I saw this Jaguar convertible thing on Cosgray Rd a couple weeks ago. Didn't Wiggs have "stig" license plates?
Also, not sure where else on here to post this......I bought some posters off of craigslist and had them framed, one of which was a 1986 Columbus Ford Dealers 500 poster (far right in the pic below). Apparently downtown Columbus hosted a street course race with IMSA for a few years back in the mid 80's! How cool is that? How many of you know/remember this?

Very cool!

Love the set up

Friend of mine had an NA C5Z that made 470 wheel. It was lowered and drove like a damn go cart...in a good way. I would go into a corner at a speed that would have rolled most cars and the vette took it with little to no effort. Brakes were fantastic as well. Very well sorted car for sure. I would love to have one.
That’s exactly how this one handled. It went around the track like a banshee. I asked the instructor what cars out there are best he has had on the track and he said this car and a 997 GT3.
Sorry for derailing this.... anyways... Cordell any close ups of the brake set up with the wheels?

yeah, I actually had one of those pop up on a search that was called a GLI but was actually a CC so I did a bit more research. Awesome looking cars but the MPG is only 5-6 better than my truck...not worth it.
Good to know man, thanks! I really think it's going to be a GLI. Now it's just finding one for the right price.
I'll also be buying a truck so not totally worried about winter. Snow tires are a good fix. How much is that DSG service?
You should be able to get a smoking deal on a used one. You could potentially get a new one for a deal too. I bought mine and got the 0.9% interest. DSG Service I believe is $450ish. I take mine to Nate Garland who is a tech at Hatfield. He knows my car in and out and I trust him and the service advisor Chris Alexander.
If you think about going stage 1 on the car and you have a stick, you will have to do your Clutch quick. I’m stage 2 on DSG with the TCU software and no issues.
Also, if you like HIDs the new ones don’t come with it. I think the 16’s were the last year you could get them. The new ones though come with more options than my 14 and the new infotainment that I wish mine had.

That should make some fun noises.....

I like manuals and they are fun, but the DSG is fun as well in a different way. For sure not like an auto that most people think of.

GREAT thread. These are some awesome upgrades! After riding in a C5Z last week at the NCM track, vette is for sure coming when I can get rid of the VW.
-
I LOVE my GLI to be honest with you. The DSG is great even before I got the TCU software. You can get used GLI's for GREAT prices. If you are worried about FWD in the winter I have a set of winters for you I'll sell.
The only expensive maintenance would be the DSG service every 40k.

Beautiful car! Love the black optics package on it and the wheels. It is a little bit of a drive but I go to HS Tuning in Westlake for all my APR goodies. Awesome guys and really know their stuff.

Use to work with the guy that owned this. Had not seen him in a long time but ran into him at cars and coffee last year. He is an enthusiast and has had Audi’s for a long time.

As far as I know clay, if it isn't a convertible then it is a targa. There aren't "fixed roof" cars like they did with the c5 z06 fixed roof coupe.
I have to say, I am not thrilled by any of the colors of the new Zr1. I don't know why.
I wonder if the new car will finally bring down the prices on the c6 Zr1s which are still over $60k 10 years later.
Clay - they are all targas unless you get a vert. They were showing how to take the top out with the spoiler.
Geeto - they are the same colors you can get on a non zr1. There are not specific colors to the zr1. Lots to choose from with a lot of different spec out options.

Just saw a bunch of them down at the Bash this week. A couple owners already had them on the track but GM brought down at least 10 of them, all optioned different. I posted some photos in the Photo section.
Some of them with the options I wasn't a fan, but certain colors and options made them look great. On cold starts.... WOW they sound mean.

Went down to the Bash at the national Corvette Museum with my dad this week. When we pulled in today I saw an entire line of ZR-1’s lined up. Took some photos and a video of a cold start. There were two brand new ZR-1’s on the track today as well by actual owners.
Did some “parade” laps with my dads C7 and it was a blast. Got to also ride in the leader car which was a C5 Z06. This car was awesome. It went around the track great and made my face pull with the corners.
We also met the owner of Adams Polishes and he worked on my dad’s Corvette to get some tar off the clear bra.
Enjoy the photos.

Seriously... I need to find a deal like this on some VMR's
-
Looks awesome. Really like how there is some resemblance of the GT350.
-
Where do you find these idiots?
seriously
-
This is really cool! I didn't even know they made these.
-
Photos are not showing? Sounds awesome though and have always loved the 1st gen V's

Want to trade for a Jetta GLI...... kidding but man this would be fun. Always had to take a look at it when at C&C. Sounds AMAZING.
