  1. I think 95% of us are still logging in to see if the dumpster caught on fire yet. :D

Still luv all of u doe.

Yurp. It feels like when you move out of a house and you take one last look around for memories.

  2. man sometimes I murder a sixer and go browsing through the archived remember-when threads and weep a tear

Same lol. Some of those threads are amazing.

You're welcome for the quality content a much dumber, younger me came up with. :)

  3. MT or DCT?

6MT. I'm not as interested in the fast shifts as I am enjoying driving it.

I have some black 19x9.5 Ultraleggeras Ill be looking to sell soon. I think they are the right fitment for S4's. If you're interested.

If they are 5x112 and a 30-38ish offset I would be interested in pics and a price. I wasn't really interested in black, but if I like them I can always have them powder coated.

  4. I recently traded my B6 S4 in for a B8 S4, so plans so far are wheels and a little lower, dual pulley and a tune if its in the budget this year. Also, hopefully I can get some stuff done on my Rx-7 and maybe get it finally running this year.
  5. I'd be okay with basic firearm knowledge\safety being taught in high school or elementary also. Doesn't have to be hands on. Just here's how they operate, they're dangerous, what to do if you find one, etc.

I feel like this wouldn't be a bad idea regardless, so long as it is someone with actual firearms experience and not just someone teaching what they read in a book (just my opinion).

As far as people here worried about those untrained carrying, as Joe pointed out they have the option to open carry now in the state of Ohio. Do we think more people would start carrying because they can do it concealed now? Honest question. I know some would, but (again, just my opinion) I don't think too many would go buy a gun to carry just because they can now. Also people who already own guns that don't currently have a ccw may carry as well, but I would like to think that a majority of gun owners have some experience handling guns, and hopefully a little common sense.

  6. See this is the problem I have with conversations with conservatives on this forum. Its not about issues or policies - for people like Pandah all that matters is that the other side is unhappy and that makes them happy. It is literally the most vacuous, unintellectual, approach to politics. What common ground can be found with someone who is willing to screw themselves over just so they can think their nameless, faceless "enemy" is unhappy.

Basically the reason I left facebook recently. Likely won't be permanent, but I just got tired of it being nothing but politics and people slinging shit.

  7. Either do what Turbs said and get a beater to resell in the spring, or do what Cordell said and if she says you can't use her car then drive the Avalanche. Or you could toss new tires on the convertible and drive it (just hope you don't have much driving to do through the winter).
  8. CA also generates 55% of its electricy from solar (31.2%), wind (6.7%), hydro (8.3%), and nuclear (8.8%), with solar rapidly expanding.

Although they are a small percentage, nuclear and wind aren't as earth friendly as you may think. Typically when they change turbine blades, the old ones are buried on sight (due to high transportation costs I suppose). Also nuclear fuel has to be stored in a cooling bath for 10 years after it is spent (or else a meltdown could still occur like what happened in Japan a while back), and the nuclear fuel is in use for about 18 months iirc (I worked at a nuclear power plant once and was told the number, but it has been nearly 20 years).

I will say that I am surprised, yet pleased, about the solar power usage out there. I know there are programs here in Ohio to help people go solar, I would really like to with my next home.

  9. Ergo, if taxation is theft, then you as well concede that some theft is necessary.

Where did I say that taxation is theft? I just think that before taxes are raised wasteful spending should be taken care of first.

  10. Link to the actual proposal (on page 88). We'll see if congress picks it up.

On the one hand, I don't particularly care if your income comes from a "side hustle." I pay taxes on my full income as a W-2 employee, and I don't have much sympathy for people not declaring income on their returns in order to evade taxes.

On the other hand(s), this seems like a pretty big expense for banks for a pretty minimum net haul. I wish the IRS and congress would go after all of the substantial tax cheats out there. Rich fucks and large corporations avoiding taxes through legal loopholes.

The problem I have with "taxation is theft" is that even hardcore libertarians concede that some government is necessary (K-8 schools, national defense, etc). And if that's true, then some form of taxes need to be levied to pay for it. And once you've conceded that some taxation is necessary, then it stands to reason that if taxation is theft, then some theft is necessary. And what has that accomplished other than diluting the meaning of the word "theft."

    Thoughts?

There was no taxes before 1935. Now that doesn't mean that there shouldn't be some taxes, but there is a whole lot of wasteful spending they need to cut out.

  11. You are welcome to drive my S4 to see if you like it. I know it's awd (but they typically don't have any problems I am aware of beyond the occasional cv axle). The v8 is a ton of fun and it sounds good, it's fairly easy to toss around and the kids will have slightly more legroom than some of the options above (my 9 year old can sit comfortably behind my big ass).

The downsides, they are hard to find in your price range with the chains done, but not impossible. If you have to work on them it may seem harder than it is, or it could be just as bad as you think, depends on what it needs. The engine bay is tight though.

  12. But there were many cases of peoples deaths being listed as covid when they weren't. My wifes grandmother passed away in spring of 2020 from a heart attack, she did not have covid but her death certificate is listed as covid being the cause of death.

But what's more than that, sometime earlier this year (id memory serves me correctly) there were a bunch of covid deaths reviewed and the cause of death changed because it was found that covid was not the cause of death. Idk if that was nationwide or not, but I do know that happened here in Ohio.

Now I don't know if there is any truth to this, but I heard at one point that hospitals were paid 37k per covid death. If that's true then I can see the incentive for peoples deaths to be marked as covid.

  13. It's what passes for intellectualism among conservative pundits these days. Not interested in any actual information - if they can cast doubt and make something seem suspicious that's as far as they take it, then the unwashed masses pickup the doubt and run crazy with it, and the next thing you know people are taking livestock doses of a dewormer thinking it treats viruses.

Nobody here is trying to sway anyone away from getting the vaccine, in fact, we have said multiple times that if people are comfortable getting it then they should. People have explained why they are hesitant or want more info.

Also, nobody here in this thread is dumb enough (I hope) to take livestock doses of a dewormer for covid.

Edit: I just reread your comment, I see it isn't directed towards anyone in this thread. Carry on.
