  1. 700-1.3mill being built its nuts, looks like the first phase is close to the tracks. But that whole areas gonna be huge. So muxhland being used.

My old house is the next street over and it was 1/2 mile from the tracks and you could barely hear it.

About the same for me. I grew up on Shanahan rd about 1/4 mile from the tracks. Honestly you get used to the trains and don't notice them.

On another note I bought my house last June. Last time I checked Zillow estimated it to be worth double what I paid (I know they are inaccurate, houses around me are selling for more than Zillow estimates though). If we can find something, I have been considering selling for something bigger.

  2. So a quick look on google it appears she is going to donate the money she raised (all but about 1000 to pay for travel expenses and the original er visit), and her goal was originally only 1500. It also seems she isn't interested in suing Gorilla Glue for this ordeal. I'm glad she is donating the money and not just looking for a handout.
  3. 140 for an engine is cheap. If you work somewhere that ships a lot of freight though, you may be able to have them ship it collect on their account (if they allow the employees to do so). Businesses that ship a lot usually get a pretty good discounted rate.
  4. I bought a set of cheap wheels from him once, seemed okay at the time. I see him on facebook from time to time, seems he is bouncing around a bunch of different shops for the past couple years, of course he is always the best tech and he always works with idiots. I would delete him, but it is entertaining to see his posts sometimes.

  5. He doesn't want anybody to die, he just wants credible threats to their lives so they feel intimidated by terrorists and destruction of government buildings. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Oh hell, I just said I was happy they were scared a little. And yes, if the government isn't working it is outlined in the constitution that the government should be overthrown. I guess those that would overthrow the government would be terrorists on the same level as the IRA.

  6. you did, or did you think that Thomas Jefferson quote only applied to one side of the aisle?

I never mentioned either one of them in either of my first 2 comments. And his quote absolutely applies to both sides of the aisle. The 2 party system is a problem imo.

The left thinks the right are a bunch of idiots....the right thinks the left are a bunch of idiots. I think they're both correct.

    Agree.

  7. I can't believe that someone in this thread said that BLM and antifa can and should commit political violence directed at our elected officials, including killing police officers who get in the way, in order to remind them that they should fear the people, and CR didn't jump all over him.

    I don't know what's real anymore.

Who said BLM and Antifa should?

  8. You're glad about that cop getting beaten to death?

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. -Thomas Jefferson

I'm not glad about anyone dying, but my point is still the same. The government should fear the republic, not the other way around.

  9. So what happened at the capitol on the 6th. I just wanted to say that I don't agree with why it happened, however I am glad it did. I believe our government has too much power as it is and they need to be reminded that they are supposed to fear the people, not the other way around.

Separate note, but I can't help but ask myself if so many middle-aged men of a certain age would view Nancy Pelosi with near as much hatred and disgust if she were male. Imagine for moment, a Nathan Pelosi if you will, with all the same views/quotes/positions.

"He" could still go fuck himself as far as I'm concerned.

  10. If the maybe that Joe posted were to hold any water, I would look for the guy to have had some sort of terminal illness and for his family to receive some sort of payment in the future from some sort of untraceable source.

I'm not saying that's necessarily what happened, but stuff like that could confirm some sort of conspiracy.

  11. Yes, assuming that those covenants are still valid and not invalidated by subsequent law. Covenants are enforceable by law, basically your neighbors can just sue you directly if you violate a covenant.

HOAs prevent this by basically standing between the neighbors and sometimes acting as a go between so it doesn't devolve into the Hatfields and the McCoys. If your neighborhood was built before the HOA was formed and your HOA is voluntary, you don't have to join the HOA, but you still have to follow the covenants. The downside to not being part of the HOA is that the HOA will just sue you instead of one of your neighbors if you violate the covenant. By being a member you have the advantage of being able to work it out with the HOA before any real legal action is taken since there are laws that specifically require HOAs to have a complaint resolution process.

    Does that answer your question?

Yes, that does answer my question, thank you. It just seems shitty to me that you can have people start building houses around you then just decide what you can and cannot do with your property. Hopefully I never have to worry about it though.

  12. Amazing that you state this when Trump is who the republicans picked. Let's talk about dogshit, right? Look at how many prominent republicans are jumping ship and voting for a democrat because Trump is such dogshit and bringing the entire party down. I'd love to see you come up with a list of similar level democrats that are jumping ship because "Biden is dogshit". Won't happen

My sister in law has been very vocal about hating Trump since he was elected. She has said that even she will vote for Trump this time because he is the better of the 2 choices. I'm not voting for either.

  13. I hope you have enjoyed the shit show the 2020 election has brought us. I will say that I refuse to vote for Kamala Harris for president (we all know Joe won't last all 4 years). I just can't wait for this election to be over so this pandemic can go away, at least until the next election.
  14. I've got an 05 Grand Prix that I've done little more than basic maintenance (had a couple coils go bad and an idler pulley lock up) in the last 50k miles. I'm working on picking up an 05 S4 to replace it because I want something less boring that I can shift myself. If auto and boring is okay with you, any gm 3800 will run damn near forever.
