  1. How do you align them? Directed straight out or pointed more towards the road surface?
  2. I am considering just replacing the entire radiator. I replaced the original radiator as it was definitely clogged, I tried to flush and back flush the heater core at the same time. The replacement used radiator then started not transferring heat as efficiently during the summer and I found the heater core was not putting out too much heat. My concern is that there was enough of the crud left in the system that it was able to partially clog the replacement radiator and heater core. If I change the radiator again, I run the risk of it clogging again. If I could cheaply flush the current radiator and heater core, I could see if that takes care of the issue or not. The radiator is a single core and fairly small, I could not find anyone making a multi-core, so I think that I will keep having the issue will a small amount of crud clogging the cheaply designed radiator. I think that a small amount of crud may have found a pocket in the block and resisted the flushing. When I changed the radiator I tried to flush everything, I went as far as replacing the waterpump during the process. I would hate to keep replacing the radiator to just catch enough of the crud to clog it. Incidentally, the radiator effect is so minimal, even with a clogged radiator it could maintain a reasonable temp during the winter and pretty much any time the outside temps were under 90F.
  3. Are you suggesting something like the Hella Optilux 2020 ? Forget about picking between long-range or foul-weather visibility-get both with Hella Optilux 2020 Combo Fog & Driving Lights These two-in-one lamps have both fog lights and driving lights Armed with powerful 55W H3 halogen bulbs Your Hella Optilux 2020 Combo Fog & Driving Lights come with sturdy mounting brackets, a wiring harness and an illuminated in-cab switch 2.4" tall, 5.7" wide, 2.8" deep
  4. What if I mounted the driving lights in the front marker/blinker light position and mounted some other lights lower to replace the marker/blinkers? Any thoughts on what I could use the for the replacement marker/blinker?
  5. I tried those in one of the suzuki verts last year, still found it to not be enough lighting. That was the vehicle that I set up the relays when I was attempting to boost the power. Originally, the power is routed through the switch controlling the lights, so I use that to actuate the relays now. I think the driving lights is the one way that I am going to get the lighting spread and brightness that we have on modern vehicles.
  6. Looks like this: http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/images/apw_products/images/replacement/S7/4520_1.jpg http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/images/apw_products/images/replacement/S7/4520_1.jpg Behing the marker lights / above the "mouth" is the uni-body support that makes up the "frame". This is one of the suzuki cars that I have that does not have airbags, so there is nothing behind that bumper except the one support running the width of the vehicle.
  7. What do those look like? Are you talking about the type that mount vertically? I do not think that I am able to mount that type. It would have to be something that I can hang behind the bumper and put the lens in a hole through the lowest part of bumper.
  8. I am looking to add driving lights to one of my suzuki cars, because the OEM lights are pathetic. I am going to re-wire the headlights to add relays and power directly (fused) from the battery. I like the auxiliary driving lights on my dodge truck, but I assume that there has to be even better driving lights out there. And maybe a cheaper option... Anyone recommend a set of driving lights? I figure that I would cut holes in the bumper and fabricate some brackets to suspend the light assemblies behind the bumper.
  9. Anyone have experience with flushing a radiator that has plastic wells vs. being completely composed of metal? I figure normal rad service/flushing would melt the plastic. The PO apparently used non-distilled (hard) water in the coolant. Any ideas?
  10. Link His last thoughts: "There's no escape!" .
  11. Actually, CashCab is not that random. They normally have production assistants out scouting for photogenic people/groups. They might be there scouting in a bar/cafe or sometimes on the street.
  12. Seriously, consider the Slice of Brooklyn bus tour. http://www.asliceofbrooklyn.com/pizza.html Hopefully you will get Paula as your guide My wife and I go NYC way too much... (at least for me) The tour is a great time! Especially, if you are just figuring out the area and what to get an idea. Best to take it the first day if possible or you will be kicking yourself otherwise. A cruise on The Pink Lady is great, we have taken them several times, I like it best when it includes an open bar, which the Brunch cruise includes during the summer. http://www.freedomofny.com/p.php?p=5#2
  13. I am obviously a noob to the forum, I was just granted access to everything outside the oven. Although, I am now restricted from entering the oven. Discovered this as I was replying to a post on my thread. Is that the standard practice? I wouldn't think it would be, I couldn't find a stickie on it, or how to submit a mod request/question. Is there not a specific sub-forum for those topics? If there is, I do not have the view... Can someone please point me to the stickie for such things? Boydness
  14. Lexington Park MD, no, although I did buy a vehicle there (right outside Pax River) a several years back. I really liked the area and seriously tried to get myself assigned there (while I was in the Navy). Apparently, everyone else knew it was a great place also... There were a lot of really nice vehicles. Did you spend any time in area?
  15. Hello all, This forum came highly recommend by Nick (Nickey427), he is always referencing some great bit of wisdom or fact that was discussed in a post here. My name is Steven and I am from St Marys, although I am always traveling back and forth between Ohio and DC/Maryland. Currently, Nick and I are working on re-powering my '51 Willys Wagon ("Big Blue"). One of the next projects will be the buildup of my '77 Corvette, originally a California car (rust free frame). That is what brings me here, to learn and get some inspiration for the build. She is still mostly a stock SBC with a Quadrajet: http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m509/Boydness/Corvette_002.jpg Link http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m509/Boydness/Corvette_001.jpg Link I am on travel at the moment and those are the only pics that I have with me... Boydness edit: (I have the images linked to their photobucket source, but my view is not displaying them, so I have also included the web link for each in the event they are not displaying) I think it is fixed now.
