Thanks guys
I picked up the car Dec 3 and it basically went straight into hibernation. The car has under 500 miles on the odometer; all street miles. For now, I don't have any plan to put it on track duty; autox, road course, or otherwise. Hell, I'm still unsure why I bought it
So far, I can say that it does not drive and feel like a Mustang at all. Gone are the uncertain, suspension-by-jell-o, underdamped, and side-to-side shimmy feels. It drives in a tidy, tight, quick, and proper manner. It's scary to think it behaves almost like the Z06. If you didn't know what rear suspension you got, you couldn't tell it's a live axle.
The engine is a gem and it revs to 7,500 rpm. It's smooth and torquey from the get-go. I love the way Ford equipped the interior; it's almost spartan in today standards. There is no climate control (semi-old fashioned single-zone AC and heat), no fancy navi/satellite radio/changer, no power seat, no auto headlights, no DRL, etc.
I'm debating getting the TracKey which reduces the powertrain warranty to 3/36 (from 5/60) and gives a dealer an excuse to skip on some warranty work. Mods will be mild and few as my focus is mainly on the Z06 and the Solstice.
