  1. Oil is changed every 1000 miles and spark plugs, wires, and fuel filter are changed annually. That exudes undeniable confidence.
  2. That TSW will look nice. The newest one is made using rotary forging called Panorama. Please look at the machined/silver finish, black wheels were cool 10-12 years ago; nowadays they are passe.
  3. Scott - please PM me with your budget for wheels only. What widths are you after, still 9.5 & 11 ? Have you checked Centerline & Diamond Racing ?
  4. I'd skip the G37 & get an M45 or Q45. They have much more elegant & proper styling for a large sedan. Plus, they come with a V8.
  5. Did you read the second paragraph ? Statement above isn't really a question.
  6. My favorite is a tire category that can be called "semi slicks". Michelin Pilot Sport Cup is my C6 Z06 street tires and Pirelli PZero Corsa was my C5 Z06 street tires. In the past, I've used Falken RT615 for one of my M3s and at one point I was considering Toyo R888, Kumho ECSTA V700, and Victoracer for C5 Z06 street tires. Hoosier, Kumho V710, and any true slick are sweet, sweet overkill. However, with an AWD, ultimate grip becomes less important. Nowadays, I would actually pick something less grippy. Something that's quiet and rides nicer. Top of the line from big brands like Michelin, Pirelli, Bridgestone, and Sumitomo should suffice.
  7. Clay - Is this a joint-venture with Ohio Bimmers ?
  8. Wait till some dumbass brakes and stops at the middle of the highway.

    Fuck taxes

It used to be that, between my wife & me, we could buy outright a brand new Corvette every other year with our income taxes. At one point a long time ago, I stopped looking at tax paperwork done by our CPA because the figures made me so angry.
  10. I put some effort into the writing but I thought I would never con an auto enthusiast in CR into believing. I guess I have, as one buddy said, "an inaccurate self perception".
  11. I traded a 'Vette with a 'Vette; that has gotta be the silliest.
  12. Oh, don't you worry. That thing will be sporting Centerline Smoothie in seventeen inch with wide white walls. The original wheels and tires will be stored indoor to preserve them. And before you know it, there will be 6.5 sets of wheels to fit it just like the Z06 once did.
  13. Yeah ? Bring it on ! Actually, that dark-colored stain is a special feature. See, during assembly, GM wanted the meticulously prepared engine bay to be preserved; no nick, no scratch, no marring. So this special coating was applied beforehand and the first owner ordered this to be preserved. Yes, Sir ! Right Away, Sir ! Nah, a car this caliber is only worth raced against things like FRS/BRZ. Probably not a whole lot. The Silverado is still mostly the daily driver. This 'Vette will be for formal occasions, sunday drives, and occasional ass whupping.
  14. Thanks Kyle. It has been my lifelong dream to own a 'Vette like this. Thanks Damn straight !
  15. The Z06 was a blast, and I'll miss the LS7, but I was barely ever driving it, spent most of my driving time in the Silverado, or the CTS-V. This I think I'll drive more often. It certainly doesn't make big numbers, but it's a lot of fun. http://images.hemmings.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/81%20chevette%20lft%20frnt%20use_1.jpghttp://images.hemmings.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/81%20chevette%20rght%20rear_1.jpg http://images.hemmings.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/81%20chevette%20int%20dash_1.jpg http://images.hemmings.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/81%20chevette%20int%20rear%20seats_1.jpg http://images.hemmings.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/81%20chevette%20eng%201_1.jpg This thing is really, really mint. It's an '81 with only 17k miles on the odo (verified and certified). I know it's petrol with an automatic while I was talking about a diesel with a manual transmission. It was really difficult to find such a 'Vette with this kind of magnitude. It was loaded with options (factory tinted glass, heavy-duty battery, automatic, and camel cloth buckets) and even the paint was an optional metallic color with clear coat. The car came with the plant build sheet, original window stickers, dealer promotional papers/brochures, and a couple of brochures signed by the design team including the chief designer. It is an R8C museum delivery car. I'm very happy with this purchase even though I had to add money on top of the Z06. This is better than when I bought the Boss 302. :fuckyeah:
  16. Charge me double and give me half the plates. State of Ohio gets double the income from registrations and pays half the cost of making license plates.
  17. The Old Bag of Nails in Worthington is very small too. One time I brought a party of 10 & I had to move it to the one in Upper Arlington.
  18. Guess whom this is ... http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk247/2003BlackZ06/Photo0708.jpg
  19. Other than the garden-variety exotics and ultra exotics, this year NAIAS has the next Viper and C7 Corvette. There are a one-off GT-R, Red Bull F1 car, Wrangler on portal axles, the next NSX, and SLS AMG Black Series. Shelby is downstairs and Fisker is outside this year. My group has always consisted of mechanical engineers (one of them works for Honda R&D) and a printing artist/tech. This year and last year, an ASE-certified Master Mechanic joined the mix. Every time we go, there is a theme or focus to an aspect of automobile. Last year, the theme was '13 Dart (and Abarth girls !). This year it was, "this seat is more expensive than the seat in my Z06". Some years ago the theme was big brakes and another year it was the front and rear edges of a headliner; whether they were finished, semi finished, or left raw.
