Yeah, its got no wheels right now...
-
Yes, OEM wells would be great

Well I guess I messed up. I told the guy I bought it from I didn't want the skinny's/slicks because I could not sell them...
-
Just picked up a C5 that still needs a few parts to get running. Anyone have their stock/extra parts laying around? - Alternator bracket - Header (Have the stock cat back, but missing the exhaust manifold) - Wheels/Tires (seller only had skinny's and slicks) Thanks! -Mark (9376203378)

I am not a fan of the color as well, but it does make it easy to spot in a parking lot.

Nobody? Is the price too high?

Up for sale is my 2000 VW GTI VR6. The car has 230k on the clock, but still runs like a champ. Just drove to Cincinnati and back last weekend. Tires are in great shape. The Good: New battery, plugs, wires, struts, front wheel bearings, and tensioner pulley. The Bad: 1 tear in the drivers seat, the seat warmers do not work, the A/C needs a recharge, and there is a little rust starting for form where the bottom corner of the door meets the body. This video is a great example of how fast the P1 really is. http://autoweek.com/article/supercars/watch-corvette-z06-chase-mclaren-p1-cota I am just in awe at the straight away speed differences between a c7 z06 and a P1. Really puts things into perspective.

Want to build a daily hyper miler, help me chose a platform

One more question, I keep seeing the 95 Civic HF, and the 96 VX come up in mpg conversations. Any Honda guys able to get me straight about what makes these two models so special? -

I think I have enough ideas to go get my car now. I will restart this thread when I get a car and start modding it. To craigslist I go (unless anyone is in the market to sell me an older civic lol?) And dont worry about me driving like a tool, the whole point of this project is to see if 50+ mpg's is feasible on the cheep, and does not cut into normal life. -

Ok so, Q1 covering up the grill openings. To me, this seems to be a guess and check type of ordeal. Cover everything up and only create openings if engine temp rises? Q2 under body coverings: What would be your go to material for this? Some sort of thin light plastic, but I need some ideas on what kind and how to attach Q3 Wheel wells: Covering the rear wheel wells will be easy, the front wheels raise a challenge because of turns. All I can think of is flat or domed hubcaps. Q4 side mirrors: Does anyone know the law? I would be up for the challenge of custom fiber glassing some small mirrors. I would love to use cameras as replacements, but that is going to be too expensive. Regarding the Air Damn, what are your thoughts on possibly using an aftermarket front lip/body kit ex: http://images.gasgoo.com/MiMwMDRfMDA0IzMxOTgyMjEwMA--/auto-part-honda-civic-body-kits-tuning-accessories-spoilers.jpg -

Draco, awesome ideas. You might have just made the best case to go diesel. Iam still a little conserned about the price to enter the diesel game vs petrol. Essfo, that is awesome. I would be on board for a miata conversion in a heartbeat if I hade a garage. -

haha the geo metro with a harpoon ftw. On a serious note, I am looking to do this to see what mods (other then weight reduction) actually make the biggest difference. I want to hit 50+mpg's at 70mph straight highway cruising Right now my plan is a early 2000's civic as the base. Its a very cheep, reliable platform, with easily obtainable parts. The CRX would make a good platform as well, but finding a clean running one is becoming a thing of the past. The VW diesel idea sounds good, but I have a GTI now...and working on VW's are a pain. So, as I sit, my plan is a civic, gutted, skinny tires, with a tune to get the base mpg's. Things I have thought of to try ( NOTE: all of these things are just ideas, yes some are crazy, and some are really expensive) 1. intake/exhaust: we all know it helps with power, but can it help with fuel economy 2. Aero: Tapped seams, wheel covers, lowering, front lips, holes in the bumper, etc. you can go wild with this one. Where does your ROI dip into the negatives? 3. Engine: port and polish, forced induction, engine management 4. Trans: lightened flywheel, taller gearing what would you add to the list? What would you do first? -
bump. anyone for $1000?

I have a 95 F-250 that needs to go. I bought it earlier this year to tow a boat, but lost interest in the boat, bought another truck, and got tired of trying to fix it up. Pros: -could make a good tow truck for the race car! -engine runs strong -it drives well on the highway Cons: -Truck has an issue that keeps putting it in "limp mode" when driving around town. You can pull the battery cable to clear the computer and it will run fine for about 10 min... but it will eventually fall back into limp mode. Problem goes away while driving on the highway. Thinking there is a bad sensor somewhere, but really don't know. -This is by no means a nice looking truck, its got rust, and lots of it. Pictures: http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/4201087581.html Willing to sell to CR for $1300 Willing to trade for guns (my current gun search is for a trap gun, hint hint) and maybe a motorcycle. I knew the coke made a difference, but I didn't realize how drastic it could be. Thanks for making me read about it more lol. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Choke_(firearms)

Thanks for the advice, and wow, that RBL Reserve is beautiful! I think what I am going to do first is check out the used market for a O/U 12ga. If I dont find anything I like there, I think the 870 or a moss 930 will be where I end up. I will post up some pics of whatever I end up with

Any interest in trading for a 95 F250?
