  1. Actually, yes. That was the car.
  2. Thanks man, your GT is a beautiful monster. Yeah, be interesting to see what Brian can get when he tunes it. I'm starting to love the 6-speed.
  3. I've never been to a race track before, let alone make a pass, so my goals are pretty basic. 1.Don't stall at the line. 2. Don't put it into a wall. If I can accomplish those admittedly fairly low-bar objectives my first time out, I will feel pretty good about myself. I think it was Tony Danza who said: "A journey of a thousand miles begins with not stalling at the fucking line." Oh, and I have to be faster than my brother. I'm not listening to that shit for the rest of my life.
  4. My greatest fear. Took it to C&C this morning with zero stalls. To be honest, I have to admit that I am really starting to enjoy the manual.
  5. Personally, factoring in paternal genetics, I've entered the estuary to Golden Pond at this point in my life. I figured with all the fun I had with the R/T, on my death bed, it's unlikely I would think "Man, I wish I hadn't bought that 392 Hemi Challenger back in '15". Unless of course my death bed is the tree I wrap this thing around like a bright green Twizzler.
  6. Love the white. Congratulations fellow Scat Packer!
  7. Yeah, no HEMI anywhere on the car. Take away the bees and it's A V-6, appearance wise. Exhaust note would be an indication of bad intent, however.
  8. In my defense I was struggling to handcuff a rather uncooperative prostitute at the time.
  9. It comes with what Dodge describes as "Bilstein performance suspension & dampers" and sits one inch lower than the standard R/T. The gap doesn't look that bad in person, then again, I used to date strippers.
  10. Thanks. I took more heat than ISIS over driving an automatic. I haven't driven a manual transmission since the Carter Administration, but it's all coming back to me now. Only stalled it 3 times first day. Zero stalls yesterday. I actually do feel much more....what's the word....connected? to the car. Still taking it real easy to break the motor in, but I did give it its legs briefly yesterday. Holy shit. It occurs to me that I don't really know if modern engines require a break in period. That was just somthing people used to say: "Be careful to not get on it too hard until the motor breaks in" Over the past few years, I spent the approximate annual GDP of Uruguay in upgrades to my R/T to gain performance. I should have listened to my brother who counciled to "just buy a bigger motor" all along. As an April Fool's joke yesterday, I picked up my elderly but game mother In the new Scat Pack. I drove her over to Dynotune Motorsports, where she dropped me off out of sight and drove the car back and explained that she had just bought it "because I like the color" but felt the car was "too fast" and wanted it to be tuned to be slower. Complete loss of words from the assembled shop rats.
  11. Thanks. That's it. Going to make track days on May 1rst more fun.
  12. Thanks guys. I always wanted a Sublime Scat Pack Hemi Challenger. I pay cash for everything, so a 1970 version costs more than I'm willing to spend, and the dealerships are marking the Hellcats up insanely. Next best thing.
  13. Have some up soon. This is a bad bitch.
  14. So I went to Performance Dodge today since it was a nice day for a cruise and I heard they had a Sublime Green 392 Scat Pack Challenger that I wanted to see in person, as I had yet to see one myself. Long story short, I traded in my R/T and now have a new very green Scat Pack in the driveway. And yes, this time I purchased a 6-speed. Only has 16 miles so far, but they have been a good 16 miles. Bet it will be the first Scat Pack tuned by Dynotune Motorsports.
  15. I guess my goal is the optimum exhaust set-up for power. The X-pipe itself is a $100 part from Magnaflow, and I have an in with an exhaust shop where I can get the work done quite reasonably labor-wise. I fully realize everything is subjective in what a person is willing to pay for goods/services. If it picks me up a couple of HP, I would personally consider it money well spent. Thanks for the response. It's appreciated.
  16. I'm saving money every month to piurchase a (used) GT500 'Vert, which you already know little brother. The 6K+ price tag for an Edelbrock E-Force would set me back for another summer. Carroll Shelby in 2016, baby. I guess now is not the time to mention the brake upgrades I ordered.
  17. Guys: Car in question is a 5.7 Hemi Challenger. The exhaust set-up is JBA Cat4ward shortie headers, JBA Off-road pipe & a Magnaflow Comp. Series cat-back exhaust. Resonators deleted. My question is would this current set-up benefit from the addition of an X-pipe? Thanks very much in advance for any input.
  18. Thanks, and you're 100% right. If you WANT to do it, you absoluetly can. For me, it came to the point that I knew I needed to make the weight loss a top priority. I have a medical condition that requires frequent (monthly) trips to my physician. Before I took control of my weight, I wanted to discuss the long-term implications of my condition. He told me in a matter of fact way not to worry about them, as it was highly unlikely that I would live to see 60 at 322 pounds (I'm 52). Talk about a wake-up call. I started walking an 8/10ths of a mile track at a local park at 6:30am. Did one lap the first outing and then sat in the car for a good 5 mins until my breathing calmed and my legs stopped shaking. Soon I was able to complete 2 laps, then 3, gradually working my way up to ten brisk laps a session. Started swimming as well. I hadn't been in a pool since the Clinton administration, and bearing the soul I don't have here, I was incredibly embarrassed at my physical appearance. At 322 pounds, often in society one can feel invisible. I know that sounds counter-intuitive, but many in the general public simply ignore you, some out of kindness, the wish not to "stare", others for less benevolent motives. There is a certain cold comfort in being socially anonymous. However, a 322 pound guy sans shirt is difficult to miss poolside. First time out, I swam 3 laps, and that 3rd lap was in doubt right up until I completed it. Climbing up the ladder at the shallow end to exit the pool felt akin to summiting K2. I was looking around for a Sherpa with an Oxygen cannister. My record now is 70 laps. Bought a set of dumbells and began lifting for the first time in 30 years. My muscles were marshmellow-soft, and I was as weak as a kitten with asthma. My last workout I completed strict-form 4x15 curls with 30 pounders. A year ago, I would have thought that was impossible. My Dr tells me I've added at least a decade to my life. I no longer have to take drugs to control hypertension, which I had done for years. My sleep apnea is long gone, I now sleep like a Lohan on 'ludes. I was initally inspired by a post someone made right here on this forum about his weight loss experience. I can't find the thread now, but thank you from the bottom of my heart whoever you are. In a very real way, you saved my life.
  19. Great Job. On April 1rst of last year, I weighed in at 322 pounds at 6 foot. Hence the "FatHemiDude" username. This morning I weigh 200. Lots of cardio, dumbells and a lower carb diet, eliminating sugar 100%. Words can't describe the difference in every aspect of my life. If I can do it, anyone can.
  20. Doing a rehab on a mobile home. Anyone have a lead on a wood burning stove?
  21. My brother and I are looking for a car to get into autocross next spring. Please PM me best cash price.
  22. Me personally, I wouldn't shoot someone for breaking into my car. Then again, I'm a Buddhist, we tend to let a lot of shit slide.
  23. Actually had some brief hail (very small) just blow through Darbydale.
  24. Only able to attend once this year (so far) and it was a very enjoyable experience. You'll have a great time.
