  1. Our beloved Ariel Atom customer came to us for a flat bottom and diffuser just before Christmas. We then went to Sebring to tune it all to work with the wings we installed the year before.

  3. ^ Thank you!

Hey Rob! Glad you joined the forum. Hope to see you around again. I really appreciated the advice you gave me about the Miata's wing.

No problem. Someday we'll get a really nice one on there

Also, I'll probably do a post on it later, but I'm down at Sebring doing testing with a customer car and having a blast. 78 and sunny!

  4. Rob, Welcome to CR. We spoke a bit last year when I was making a wing change on my GT3 and I found your input highly valuable in that decision.

When it goes full track car one of your wings WILL be on the back of it.

Glad to hear it! Let me know if I can help with anything in the meantime

  5. Welcome to the site. You have a nice list of cars. The only one I don't think you touched on is the Mercedes...what's the story on that one?

It's an 84 300D (inline 5 turbo diesel). It's just something old and slow, but I'm having some fun with it. Eventually it will have a bit more oomph, but I have too many other people's cars to worry about at the moment so my compound turbo dreams will have to wait.

  6. Welcome.

What's the story about the mustang pictured at MO?

In that picture, I'm just the spectator in red. I was busy watching the diffuser and a few other things on the car.

The mustang is one of the cars built and raced by Paul's Automotive Engineering in Cincinnati. They are a fantastic Ford shop, with numerous racing championships between their customers and themselves. I have been helping with their aero since 2012, and they run a GOODAero wing on the car. That particular car is a rear-mount turbo build.

  7. Thanks for the kind words everyone!

    Welcome to the site! I've got a '95 318i 'vert...love dat E36.
Absolutely. I had a euro s50 to swap into this car, but other projects became priority and the rules for NASA GTS are in flux so I let it go.

Welcome, Rob. I'm glad to see that you followed-through on my suggestion. I think you'll find this a great group of folks. I hope to run into you again at events in the spring. We don't have many rallycross drivers here, but those we have are really enthusiastic about the sport.

    Great intro, BTW!

Thank you for the suggestion! I'll be around, and I'm happy to drive on just about any surface! http://i1257.photobucket.com/albums/ii513/fieldsrb/11403068_10206365035979184_1942803735457359362_n_zpsx969ka8i.jpg

Hi Rob! (It's Bob from MSO). Good to see you on here!

Bob! It's been too long, we'll have to catch up the next time I'm in town.

Agree with the rest of the crew that you have a diverse group of cars. Also would love to see you transplant 13BT or REW in the RX2.

Look forward to more progress on it and the Alpha..

The original idea was to snag a pro formula mazda drivetrain, separate the the transaxle and motor a la Porsche 944 with the driveshaft in the middle, and make a stupidly fun track toy out of it. Rotary power, rear mounted sequential 6 speed, and less than 2200 pounds!

  8. Welcome! Any pictures of the sonnet or rx2?

Thanks! Only one on hand at the moment is from when I went to pick up the RX-2. Still unsure what its destiny is, though a few good ideas are floating around. Both are in storage at the moment while I work on getting the Alfa ready as a present for my father.

  9. Hi CR! New to the forum, based loosely in Ohio but this is always subject to change. I have family and friends in Columbus, and I am typically in town at least once a month.

Outside of my day job in the aerospace industry, I build composite race car parts, (I own GOODAero, a provider of top tier aerodynamics products for road-course racing) as well as do aerodynamics and data engineering consulting for private racing teams. Lots of good stories and insights from those experiences for anyone interested.

I am also involved with the Ault Park Concours in Cincinnati if anyone here is of that persuasion as well.
