  1. Anyone know of a good machine shop in or around Columbus? Not just one you know of. I need a good one that you know does good work. I'm going lq4 block 408 for the camaro. Also, this is kinda corny but I need something like a mentor for this build. I know some but I know that there's experienced builders / racers that I could learn from. As far as the build, tuning, and racing. Don't flame me ctfu. I just don't want to sink all this money into this car and stuff go south on first start. I'm passionate about my cars and want to do right by them. Thanks guys! Also quick question*** get the parts assembled for engine and trans or chassis and body first i.e roll cage, back half, suspension and all that? Thanks
  2. So I did a lot of research and I came up with the decision....I seen a lot of motivational stuff for the ls. So many interchangeable parts and upgrades. Nothing but praises on the toughness and durability of the block. Pistons go kinda quickly but that's not too bad. The flow of the heads is crazy! And most of all......theyre not too costly. Well at least starting out theyre not. But from the sounds of it I can go find almost any decent ls stock motor machine it as necessary cam, heads, crank ect. and it will bring about some decent horsepower. With that being said one more question.......gen? liter? heads? To help, I'm not planning on the car to be a "legal" car. I have a 01 blazer and a 14 fusion so no need for a law abiding Camaro (so no need for draglites zeitgeist57 lmao) My goal is to crack 9's with the first build. So please shoot some things at me. I wanna hear anything from anyone who has the time. Budget is around 8 to 10 grand (not at one time). Thanks in advance
  3. came from Circleville. Not sure about anything before that. Turd gen lmao.
  4. Yea I'll go look into the websites and stuff you guys are giving me. I really do appreciate your time. Seems like the thing to do is ls the ish out of it lol. I'll do more research and number crunching and see what I can do. Thanks guys......
  5. Dharris89 I've checked it out. Honestly that's one of the reasons I'm struggling with what to do with it. So many possibilities. I've always wanted one. It was love at first sight lol.
  6. Yea no tranny. Can't lie it sounds enticing. I'll look into cost and see how it matches my budget. I appreciate your time and input. Not Brian I love the car to death. That's why I wanna do right by it. Just wanna decide and go. It's bugging me to death. Thanks guys
  7. Not opposed to the ls. Just not too familiar with them. I have looked into ls swaps a little as well as 383 str. I've pretty much scratched the 383. Definitely want more ci. And you're also one of the many that have suggested the ls. Maybe I should spend more time researching the ls and not so much on cr lol
  8. Thanks for the welcoming. The car is actually a roller. Used to be sbc on juice. But as of now it's a blank canvas. Actually just got it a few days ago. My heart says bb but my pockets say sb. Still fighting with myself about it. It has frame ties, 3.73 10 bolt rear, and all super clean and stock interior. Other then those few things it's pretty much stock. Oh and aluminum radiator. Basically nothing usable for the bb ( says the right pocket). But then I think why not just take my time and go bb. One of the reasons I wanted to join this forum was for help on the decision. I know this conversation is played out. But the point is to make up my mind and stick to it. What do you guys think?
  9. thx whoever fixed the pic! I have a long way to go too lol
  10. Starting a project real soon. Heard a lot about this forum so I wanted to soak up some info from more knowledgeable people. I don't know much so I need all the help I can get. Also wanted to see whats out there around me on the east side. Thanks for having me......I look forward to learning everything I can. The project........... http://i1064.photobucket.com/albums/u367/fbodyfreshman614/IMG_0062_zpsoock80tq.jpg :mod fixed your pic:
