I loved my GTO. It's hard to explain to someone how much fun they are to drive. If both are in your price range, you should test drive both, and see which one you like the most.

I was thinking about some great sleeper vehicles I have seen over the years, and wondered what is the best one you have owned? The couple I could think of were... my 1st V8 S10. Now, it is common to see an S10 converted to a V8, but in 1993, it was still rare. I surprised a lot of people back then with that truck. It only ran mid-14's, but then again, in the mid 90's that was a quicker car than it is today. The GTO. "Car guys" knew about the LS1, but surprisingly, a lot of people did not have a clue. Those are pretty week. What did you guys have?

I stopped keeping track around $20,000 on the S-10. $8,000 initial price in 1994. Never been on a dyno. 12.30's 1/4 mile. But, it was bought to go to shows with, and has gradually received go-fast parts.

In her defense... He was coming so fast that nobody was getting over. By the time people knew he was coming, he was already passing them. I was sitting still, with my windows down and radio off. I wasn't even sure where the siren was coming from until he blew by my intersection. Her fault? On paper. Was he driving anywhere close to safe? No. Either way, it was probably a once in a lifetime thing to see a cop wreck in person. It all seemed super-slow-mo.

I was pulling out of my work on Taylor Station Rd today at 4:05pm. This road is 1 lane each way plus a turning lane. The cop was going at least 60mph (35mph zone) East bound in the turn lane, passing a lot of East-bound cars. Right after he went past my turnout, an old lady traveling East put her blinker on and went left into the turn lane, to well... turn left. Cop's passenger side hit her driver side and both headed into the yard on the North side of the road. She went about 20' into the yard, the cop about 60'. It appeared he got out and wrote her a ticket (may have only been taking her info, but we was writing on something much longer than it was wide - like a ticket).

I completely agree. I think your and my kids are a couple weeks apart. Maybe me having a new son is why this hit so hard. I worked with this guy fairly closely a few years back and on occasional issues since then. Shocked me.

An employee at our company's location in Dallas shot both his young daughters, killing one, then shot and killed himself. From EVERYone's account, he was the 100% "normal" jolly late 40's guy. I was actually talking about Dollar General. I have a co-worker that visits that store EVERY day. He is the single, biggest, annoying penny-pincher anyone I know has ever known.
