  1. 89 Fox convertible with the power driver's seat from a 96 Cobra. The seat quit working today and is stuck in the back position, so I can't get to the bolts that bolt it to the floor.

The fuses on the panel are ok, if there is another fuse, I am not aware of it and the car obviously didn't come with this seat. It appears everything in the car still works, which makes me think it is wired separately

Anyone know how to detach the seat from the railing so I can work on it?

God I hate power accessories. Just more shit to break down.

  2. Weather.com says scattered & isolated storms Saturday through next Thursday :moo:

Water won't hurt a motorcycle. Trust me.

And I've never actually met anyone who would melt from the rain. It might feel good if it's hot those days.

  3. I think there is a plan in order for a all day ride on Monday, since most people are off. Sunday is packed with cookouts.

BTW, I rode to work today. It appears I am about to get pissed on...!!

Hope I can make it. Wife and kids like me to spend holidays with them.

  4. Not sure where, but anyone interested in getting together for a ride? Maybe to Southeastern Ohio - Wayne Nat'l forest, Marietta route, etc? Something?

It's not going to be terribly hot and I've barely got 200 miles on the 14 - the riding gods are not being kind to me this year.

  5. +1

    +2.

Hoblick, I'm not worried about myself - it's all the other idiots around me that worry me. You can be totally legal, it only takes one jackass to spoil it. I'd like to have my lid on should that happen.

  6. Thanks guys - rides really nice too.

My only complaint is that plastic tank cover thing on the front of the tank prevents my magentic tank bag from clamping on fully. So far it hasn't shown a tendency to fly off, though.

ASK has my damn battery right now. Looks like the one I got was bad, but they want to charge it over night and check it. Their tester says it's good. I charged it overnight last night (after it died from sitting for 3 days for the second time), left it out of the bike and checked it when I got home. It went from 12.56 to 12.1V in 10 hours. I took it to them and they say it's 34% charged. I tend to think that it's bad.

  7. This was debunked some time ago. Some fellow riders from Sportbikes.net went there last weekend and had no problems - no indication of 'unusual' police presence in the area, either.

    http://www.tailofthedragon.com/news.html

BULLETIN: We have received numerous emails concerning the recent posting on the Internet by a supposed Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper warning of dire consequences on the Dragon this coming year for speeders. We do not post rumors on this site so we contacted Captain Ray Fletcher of the Knoxville Division Tennessee Highway Patrol. He confirmed as we had believed that some of the details in the post are completely false, such as the immediate arrest and impoundment of vehicles for speeding over 50 mph on the Dragon.

Captain Fletcher was not able to comment on whether or not the post was made by a Trooper, but some of the language, unusual statements and obvious errors as stated above make us believe the post was by someone other than who supposedly signed their name and position to it. Obviously a real Trooper would not jeopardize his job by signing such a post.

Captain Fletcher stated that the laws will be enforced on the Dragon as they are on all Tennessee roadways. Tail of the Dragon advises riders to obey the laws and they will have no trouble with the Tennessee Highway Patrol or Blount County Sheriff Deputies.

We will post relevant news as it occurs in the coming year. Watch for continuous updates.

  8. all bikes are lean from the factory. especially at idle.

    all emission regulations BS

sucks for you FI guys. cause you have to get a power commander or whatever

but FI is so much nicer than carb.

Who cares about idle though? Cruise is supposed to be lean - cars run lean at idle and cruise, too not only for emissions but it saves gasoline.

It's wide open that I'm concerned about.

Thorne, Some people say you need to rejet with a slipon, some don't. I'm with Hoblick. I never really thought you did, and my CBR was fine with just the slip-on.

You might put on the slip-on and see what you think. You can always jet it after the install.

  9. Nope - Katana is still carbd. Suzi will never change that bike as long as it continues to sell. Big time cash cow.

It is also air-cooled, not liquid cooled.

Ben, your bike is 14.9 at full throttle? Then it was pretty lean before.

  10. We were down there 3 weeks ago. The roads are clean, but you still have to watch for cars pulling gravel from the shoulders. Nothing really to avoid, just don't try burning through there. If you are a new rider, I HIGHLY advise you to go the recommended speed or lower through the turns.

The only reason most people crash in HH is because they aren't used to two lane roads that have corners on them or they fail to ride their own pace. There is nothing dangerous about the place, provided you use your head.

  11. Someone told me there ans 05 CBR (brand new) at honda northwest (off of cemetery road) that they want like $8500 for. Might be able to get it for cheaper than that.

You won't know the difference between the latest hardware and ones that are 2 years old - they're so far above our riding levels, it's not funny.

  12. Never been bothered. If they don't like it, they can kiss my ass.

    +zillion.

They already collected the tax when the vehicle was purchased new. It's fucking ridiculous to have to pay a sales tax each time something is sold used.

  13. Surely,

I have heard/ seen this happen on large trucks.

I have never heard of someone getting stopped on their way to work in their TDI card or small truck and getting their tank checked and or cut apart to inspect for off-road..?

My stepdad and his dad are both farmers. They know of the OHP stopping guys driving their pickup trucks to check them for offroad diesel.
