I guess I should explain that one... Sometimes starters will lock up and a swift kick to the junk will break them free

You can also try smacking the starter with a small hammer as someone is pressin the start button. Or you may be able to do both by yourself

those forks do look a little goofy... I dunno, what the hell does a front end adjustment mean? Does this require taking off the forks and throwing them down the street?

My buddies kanatuna wont start unless the kickstand is up not matter what. Try all the above, then you will have to start checking wires if youre sure the battery is good. Did you remove/disconnect any wires when you tore it down?
