I read 10 pages, and my head is gonig to explode. It appears people are arguing over 2 theories: 1) The 5w-20 Ford reccomends is too thin. 2) The sustained high speed runs are causing certain pistons to expand more than the block. I'm inclined to believe it's a combination of the two. It would also appear that most of the cars that have this issue are fairly heavily modded.

Then i'd bet your power supply took a crap. Replace it before you try and install anything else.

I swapped RAM and MB (different chipset, even different brand MOBO) and it booted up just fine. Of course I had a few hiccups until I installed the drivers for the mobo, but from then it worked fine until one of my HD's exploded. Have you double checked your boot devices in the BIOS? Make sure it knows to boot off the HD. Also your processor could be the problem. You're running DDR ram with a processor that isn't meant for those speeds. You'll have to go into the bios and tinker with the FSB speeds. My gigabyte mobo has DIP switches for both FSB speed and for the CPU multiplier. I can also adjust both of those in the bios, but the switches HAVE to be set correctly.

I don't think the pistons are titanium coated. I haven't heard anything like this. And besides, the rings manage blowby, not any coating on the pistons.

Just go buy a card reader (they are cheap) and transfer the pictures that way. It's much easier.

I'm not sure about the tires, but its possible that the increased rolling resistance from the low pressure could affect dyno readings. Weight and material of the drive shaft will definately change the readings. By switching to an aluminum DS you're reducing rotating mass and thus decreasingthe parasitic loss through the drive trane.

"recoil starter" The string broke? if that's all that broke, that can be repaired in 5 minutes. Go to lowes, they stock the pull cord. If you swing by the east broad Lowe's between 9-5 tomorrow i can even tell you what you'll need to do. if more than just the string broke, then you're in trouble and you'll have to order the parts from the engine manufacturer. Magnetos are fairly easy to replace as well, just a bit more time consuming than the starter.
