  1. Even for those who haven't been to the Rolling Thunder site or read anything about it probably assume it was started by a vet or his family. I don't think anyone would assume it was some random Harley guy with loud pipes and a dream. If you read back in the thread I think you'll get the point of the debate against it, but I won't hold my breath. You would have made more of a difference by donating all the money you spent on travel, lodging, food, gas, bike wear-and-tear...then the few dollars they get off a t-shirt and pin.
  2. or the douche in the truck towing a trailer burning out as he rolled by. or the mini van with the spoiler. What a friggin odd little town.
  3. to the board. Good to see you made it on. Great meeting you the other day.
  4. Yup there's been a couple of suggestions for a review section gear, parts and whatnot. I think one of the challenges is helping keep the reviews quality. Sometimes though I think that sort of thing takes care of its self if you have decent board membership contributing reviews and comments on reviews. You also need rules or even an approval process to help keep out crap posts like just saying "ACME Anti-lock Brakes is teh suxxors!!111!!1!".
  5. Great pics looks like you guys had fun.
  6. I didn't change my story. Go back and reread. I just made it clear that when we talk PIT with a bike it's different. They could still call it a "P.I.T." if they wanted since the purpose in the end is the same. There's a key point you just don't get that makes a difference, police don't PIT just to cause a crash to end a pursuit. There's a little qualifier in there you can't seem to grasp. I'm done on this anyway. You can't even respond without twisting words like when I say, and you turn it into, Or I say.. and you respond like some 6th grader writing a book report with a definition of P.I.T.
  7. That was nuts. All good though.
  8. Definitely great meeting you all. What a fun ride. Got to dodge a dog and test my brakes. Love it so far. Still getting used to the difference in moving up to liter bike, but it's amazing. Keeping up with that zx-14 and zx-10r is a tad easier now.
  9. Wow the genius even bolded it. That's the second time you 'hinted' at wanting to injure me while I'm on bike. You're really some kind of retard. Not that it matters because special little morons don't get chased anymore anyway. Police don't want to get sued for trying to stop you while you're putting others life's in danger. You go ahead keep advocating putting peoples' lives in danger. I hope it's not your family thats killed or little daughter that's critically injured because some dickhead decided he didn't want a ticket.
  10. Yeah it was over as soon as the "victim" flipped. No victim, no way to really verify the age of the person in the video.
  11. Yean I'm the one that's not intelligent enough. At least I'm smart enough to know when and why a PIT is used. And just so we're being clear, the PIT maneuver on a motorcycle isn't really a PIT maneuver. It's a bump or nudge to initially let the rider know they are serious after they refuse to stop and could cause harm to others and then to stop them if they are at risk putting others in danger.
  12. Yeah I know you are. It's these types of things though (high speed and wheelies through traffic, running from police...) that cause these types of crack downs to happen. Even more people run because they don't want those to deal with the potential fines, court dates jail....they'll find an additional way to crack down. These types of people just keep giving them the excuses to do it too.
  13. No judge is going to give you that unless you really push it. Most crimes don't get max penalties. It could be argued if so many riders didn't race through traffic and pop high speed wheelies where there's traffic they wouldn't have to threaten stiffer penalties. Same goes for riders that run from police because they have a chance to get away on their fast bikes. Almost sounds like you guys are defending the same guys that are causing this start of crack down and these guys that are giving, sportbike riders in particular, a bad image to both police and the public. oh and
  14. Police don't chase people that don't run. 'You can't judge by "what if's?"' doesn't work for you. It can be applied either way and it can be argued more in favor of pursuing. So police pursuing a criminal on a bike isn't a what if. Fleeing the police is a definite crime. Not pursuing because of a "but what if they crash in the pursuit" is a what if. Saying "Chasing is more ego than anything." doesn't even make sense. Police aren't supposed to pursue criminals? Running from police for speeding or a wheelie doesn't make sense. Why are they really running?
  15. So in summary you think... The police using the PIT maneuver to stop a bike that is running from them AND putting people in danger = bad Police letting a rider run, still putting people in danger, but not stopping the bike because the rider might get hurt = good Gotcha.
  16. No I wouldn't run. I think though that there are enough borderline runners that if they knew that the cops wouldn't give chase it would increase the number of riders that would jet. And to at least help avoid getting caught afterwards I think a lot more would start bending plates up to the point it's almost impossible to see helping ensure they couldn't be tracked down later.
  17. Now you're exaggerating the point. Where did I say pit someone because they are speeding? I didn't. That's plain stupid to even try and make the same comparison. Exaggerating that to shooting someone for doing 5 MPH over is even dumber. You also seemed to miss the point that even someone who just takes off from cops can seriously hurt or kill someone. That guy that permanently injured the little girl and almost killed her didn't even give enough time for a chase before ramming into their car. He saw lights, gunned it and almost immediately almost killed a child. But you're right they shouldn't pursue at all and call it in. Bikes will gun it more and more to sprint away knowing the cops aren't going to chase. That means you'll end up more and more little dumbasses pinning it putting others in danger when ever a cop attempts a stop.
  18. So I bitch about someone recklessly gunning a bike to run from the cops putting people in danger and you threaten to take me out on my bike if I even speed? Yeah that's the same thing.
  19. That was great. Definitely could make for a fun little toy.
