  1. Not sure whether there really is such a thing. Just got an email from her and she meant to say chili, or chowder. But she says it gives her a good idea and with an experimental group she may have to come up with a new invention. I'm thinkin' clam, but you all know how my mind works. Pops
  2. Since Clutch will be racing Sunday, October 8. The Party date has been moved out to Saturday, October 14. See You Then, Pops
  3. Does my helmet make me look fat? or phatt! It must be the chef's shirt. See you next Sunday. I have a line on a caterer that makes chili chowder? Pretty sure before my September Sundays are over I can talk her into cooking us up a cornhole batch. Pops
  4. Yota! First Rule in Life! Never give up a motorcycle event for anything other than another motorcycle event! Second Rule in Life! It doesn't matter who she is or how good looking, always remember First Rule. Side note to all of you. No matter how good looking she/he is, there is someone who is sick and tired of their shit. No problem on missing this one because it's the night before Clutch's first race so it will be moved to the following weekend. I still like the name Cornholio, I may have to try to find you an AC DC t-shirt. Hope to see you all again this Sunday. Pops
  5. Stopped in IP after work to see Clutch. He's jazzed, he was issued his race number today. He requested 64, in tribute to the late Larry Schwartzbach, but unavailable. He accepted 604. If you're into numerology it works like this, 6+4=10 (new beginnings), reduce it even further, 1+0=1 (power number). I don't know who's more excited here, him or I. Anyway, next Wednesday, 9/13 (9+1+3=13, 1+3=4, angels are with you) we'll be at Nelson Ledges for his first license session, 10/04 for the final session. It's rain or shine and he already told me, "Dad, I don't mind racing in the rain, but I'm just going to look for consistency to get my license. I'm not going to throw it away." And for a while I just thought he only got my good looks. Keep your fingers crossed for some decent weather. He'll be in the last race at Nelson on Oct. 8. Thanks to Red Robin for scoring some great take offs at Mid Ohio we have enough tires for him to ride the wheels off his R6 for the weekend and then some. I'll mortgage the house for the rest. Not sure how many races we'll enter that day, but I'm sure it'll be whatever he can physically handle. Pretty sure that the grin on ProudPops in the pits won't come close to the ear bustin' grin behind his Shoei. Clutch, I'm very proud of you for following your dream, thank you for allowing me to be a part of it. You're my best friend. I love you. Pops
  6. Still not buying into it!!!! If you're paying them an hourly shop rate and it takes longer they're still getting their shop rate, only more hours. Why should the consumer have to pay a higher hourly rate with the pain of more hours to boot just because the bike is older. Trust me on this one. As the years creep up on you, as they have me, you will keep your bikes longer. This coming December, I will have had my bike for ten years. Yes, she will have a bon fire Birthday party, I just have to see when 12/06 falls, she will be sitting on the hill decorated in Christmas lights. The day I ride her into a shop that tells me I have to pay more because of her age, the world will know about it and I won't stop at the shop's name. Pops

    Hey All

Damn Dude! At least I got in trouble outside the group. BTW that's my snorkel you're talking to. Pops
  8. Welcome to the jungle.
  9. Not sure, but he said it's made specifically for bikes. I am so kicking myself in the ass for not getting his number so I can actually see it. Hopefully he'll look up Clutch @ IP and I can check it out, or he can. The other thing I was thinking about, wouldn't that be kind of busy? Maybe with my vision tracking my age, do I really want to take my eyes off of what is in front of me to focus on what no longer matters? Pops
  10. Anyone heard of this? I met a guy at the store today on an 05 R6. He has the all black model, looks good. Anyway, while we're talking, he told me he has a rear view cam on order. You have to have the fender eliminator and the cam goes somewhere back there and it comes with a monitor that mounts on your dash. He said it's not meant to replace your mirrors but to give you the whole view of what's behind you. I did get his name, he runs by Shadow, but I wish I got his number so I could see how it works when he gets it. He said he gos into IP often and will look up Clutch to talk to him about his bike. I was out of Streamline cards, so I had nothing to give him. Farva, mental note, more cards for Pops. Pops
  11. Thank you all for showing up. It was KickAss to meet some more of you. Cornholio, thanks for breaking down the rules for us, you Rock! You'll fit in just fine here at the PPP for the next bon-fire party. It was good to meet you and your friends. Bring 'em back! Lotsa cameras floating around so I'm sure the pictures will surface soon, if not here try www.kickstandpub.com. The pink helmet was worn and autographed by many, myself included. Actually I wouldn't have lost if wasn't for my grill duties, I had a killer (not to be confused with Friday night) partner. Thanks John, haha. We will wrestle again, never forget, "Age and Treachery", I got out of looking down the barrell of a gun Friday night, pretty sure yo big ass won't intimidate me either > Makes me feel good to a part of some fun. To me the parking lot was perfect, about a 50/50 mix of bikes, sport bikes and cruisers. That's the way a bike parking lot should look like!!!!! Thanks for coming out, hope to see some more faces next Sunday. Let's see some pics! Pops
  12. I'll have real special brat for ya next week.
  13. Don't let the weather scare ya. I'm still cookin'. I'll be out the door shortly. Pops
  14. Oh yeah! Remind me to tell you about Friday night, it's a story only to be told in person. Just some fodder for thought, handcuffs, pistol in one hand and a taser in the other. They weren't in my hands, but they were aimed at me, blue arcs a flyin'. This white man can jump! Only in my world. Pops

    O - H

IO! Lotsa shoulda woulda coulda's. We beat the spread. On to Tejas.
  16. Oh Yee of Cincinnatti. Just because you are the guardian of the rules does not exempt you of the PINK HELMET. You will also go down. Maybe not quite as fast as Chrome, who will go down faster than a Short North Hooker! Hey! Be careful out there everyone. I chose to be designated driver tonight and made it through one check point, had to get out of the truck to prove it because the smell inside was overbearing. Already heard from one who wasn't so lucky. Pops
  17. I'm still not buying it! If the bike's been sitting for two years it may take longer to get it up and running but they're still getting their hourly labor rate, only with more hours. I don't know bro. My ten year old HD doesn't cost any more than a new one. Maybe that's because they're just raping us all. Not really, I go to Wild Boar on Indianola. The guy that owns it is the only one that has wrenched on my bike since I bought it ten years ago, I just follow him because I trust him. My shit works when I pick it up, write the check, get on my bike and know it's better now. Pops
  18. Welcome aboard. Now get on that bike.It misses you. Pops
  19. That sounds way to bogus to me! Those are the bikes built for us to work on ourselves. Simple carbs, simple timing. No maps, no laptops, do a throttle chop, read your plugs and adjust from there. With FI, Power Commander, etc, these kids are smart. There's noting to dropping that bank of four and doing your own tuning
  20. Ahhh Young Grasshopper. You have much to learn. That was from a TV show before you were born (Kung Fu). In other words, Just sit back and take notes! Pops
  21. ProudPops

    Hi!

welcome. glad to have someone my age aboard. Pops
  22. When it gets loose. No smartass comments intended. Just check it often. It really depends on how hard you ride. There's really no mileage deal here. If you ride hard, adjust often. If you don't ride hard, adjust less often. Your chain should NEVER look like it's hanging. Watch your sprockets, they should stay squared off at the top, points or slants are not good unless they are on a chick. Pops
  23. First of all, sorry of your loss. Second, I can help! It would be easier to tell you than for me to try to type it with my chickin pikin typing. I've been on hundreds and helped organize a few succesful ones. Feel free to call me @ 614-893-4723. Pops
