  1. Grant is a level 1 trauma center and Doctor's is not. Being in the emergency medical bussiness I can tell you with no doubt at all if my life is ever on the line do to a traumatic accident I want to go to Grant ER.

Glad to hear your buddy is going to be fine.

I second that about Grant. When I was transported to Grant Trauma and they did a great job. Their trauma unit is a finely tuned machine.

  2. Traction control will no longer be legal in Formula One racing from the start of next season. The change is just one of a number to the 2008 regulations agreed by the teams and FIA at a meeting of the World Motor Sport Council earlier this week.

Article 9.3 of the newly-revised technical regulations states: “No car may be equipped with a system or device which is capable of preventing the driven wheels from spinning under power or of compensating for excessive throttle demand by the driver. Any device or system which notifies the driver of the onset of wheel spin is not permitted.â€

Outlawed in the 1990s, traction control was legalized for the 2001 season when it was felt that sophisticated electronics had made policing the ban impractical. From next season, however, standardized ECUs should make enforcement far easier.

Under other changes agreed, the regulations regarding engine homologation will be relaxed slightly, with teams able to make in-season adjustments to a longer list of components, including fuel injection and exhaust systems.

Hopefully WSBK and AMA SBK will do the same.

After consultation with all the parties involved and upon the proposal submitted by the Superbike Commission, the FIM has decided the following amendment and additions to the Superbike World Championship technical rules for 2008.

    Displacement capacities

    o 2 cylinders over 850cc up to 1200cc

    o 3 cylinders over 750cc up to 1000cc

    o 4 cylinders over 750cc up to 1000cc

    Minimum weights

    o 2 cylinders over 850cc up to 1200cc: 168kg

    o 4 cylinders over 750cc up to 1000cc: 162kg

Minimum weight of 2 cylinders over 850cc up to 1200cc will be updated, if needed, during the Championship in steps of ±3kg to 171kg as a maximum and 162kg as a minimum.

    Air-restrictors

Only 2 cylinders over 850cc up to 1200cc will be fitted with air-restrictors. Initial size will be equivalent to a Ø50mm circular area. Air-restrictors size will be updated, if needed, during the Championship in steps of ±2mm of diameter in a range from equivalent to a Ø46mm circular area to no air-restrictor at all.

    Balance of different motorcycle concepts

Weight limit and then air-restrictors size of 2 cylinders over 850cc up to 1200cc machines will be updated, if needed, during the Championship, by a system analysing the race points obtained.

    Tuning level

All machines will have the same level of tuning presently applied to 4 cylinders over 750cc up to 1000cc, with the exception of connecting rods that must be standard for 2 cylinders over 850cc up to 1200cc.

    Homologation numbers

For 2008 and 2009 all manufacturers, irrespective of their total production numbers, will have to produce a minimum of 1000 bikes in order to get an homologation.

For 2010 onwards the minimum production number will be increased to 3000 bikes.

The complete set of the new 2008 Superbike technical rules will be issued by FIM during next week.

  4. Definately... Don't get me wrong, its cool as shit. And I don't really mind the high priced plans too much... BUT when you're saying I need to buy a $500 phone on top of that too?!?!?!!?!?! NO WAY... Especially when you could get a great phone from other companies for $100 and less. Lots of companies are givinig great phones away.

There's also the possible cancellation fee if you want to terminate and switch to AT&T.

  5. You talk about getting the shit scared out of you. We were really hitting the corners hard. I was actually in crash mode myself and expected Gregg to zip past me on the right. Then I see the black blur of a 600RR hitting the dirt/mud then flipping over and Greg laying face down about a foot from a large puddle. Then the adrenalin kicked in.

It’s good to hear Greg is doing well and hated leaving him at Coshocton Hospital but I knew he had family on the way.

    Get well soon buddy.

I expect to be carving the corners with you again soon.

  6. There are people sitting there having lunch while bike are flying past at 100+ mph. These guys make track racers look like a bunch of pussies. Oh no we can't race here theres not enough run off.

It would be awesome to see Moto GP or World SBK race there.
