Welcome, take the time to pop into the track day forum when you are ready to go to your event. I am sure there will be some other members going to the event.
  2. Beaver Run also has more elevation changes than Putnam. Putnam and Beaver Run are good tracks that have a decent width of track, challenging layouts in different ways, plenty of run off, etc. Both tracks are right hand turn dominate with a few left hand turns. Surface is good on both, I haven't ridden either in the rain but I have heard they are both pretty good.
  3. No offense, but sounds like a weak excuse to me...closeout gear can be purchased cheap at Iron Pony, plus you should already have the majority of it from your street riding (helmets, boots, gloves). If you don't want to buy a suit you can rent one. You don't need to rent a trailer as the majority of people are coming from Columbus so you can trailer with someone. Most tracks allow camping so that takes out the expense of needing a place to stay (unless you are too much of a pretty boy like dubguy and can't camp).
  4. Not allowed in WERA or Moto Series(for races). It is not that hard to change out with water wetter and changing it annually forces you to have fresh fluids in your bike.
  5. The track surface is too bumpy for some people, but it is not awful. The main issue people have with Nelson is the run off.
  6. Ever spill antifreeze before in your garage and had to try and clean it up? Can't ever really get it all up and is usually still slick. It is a PIA to clean the track because someone spilled fluid when they crashed or blew up. Water works just fine as coolant and is 10X easier to clean.
  7. Craig touched on a lot of it, I would contact Todd b/c if you are still provisional for WERA you might have to take it. It is only an additional $50 compared to a normal track day. Either way Todd can let you know for sure. As far as tires, if you buy from the vendor they will mount and balance for free. Make sure to follow the rule book as far as safety wiring and bike prep. See you in April at the first event.
  8. I remember at mid ohio when Chris Calovini's wife was riding she was going close to that. Also, when she started on the bike she couldn't touch the ground, but she was still out there riding.
  9. Please vote in the other thread with the poll for the different dates. Thanks
  10. If we get 20+ people for Beaver Run I can get a discount for early registration.
  11. Fixed it for you:D As far as a date we are still bouncing some days around and trying to figure it out, also waiting to hear back from Ben. I have a potential deal for the Moto Series event if we get enough people to sign up, but we will wait to discuss that until we figure out what direction we are going.
  12. Weren't you the one that was the pivot guy in the middle in the pits at Beaver Watch it buddy before I have to kick you in the back of the knees In all serious manners, come out and try one of the days. If you need help feel free to ask any of the instructors to help, if you have any questions and want to see someone that you might be familiar with from the boards, Craig and I will be at all of the events. I am sure Jinu will be running around pestering the hell out of everyone also.
  13. Yeah I wouldn't get anything bigger than something for 2 bikes for that vehicle.
  14. They both would be one day events. The Beaver Run event will have racing on sunday, so you are more than welcome to camp out and hang out for the weekend. Stick around and watch some of the racing on Sunday.
  15. I added it too the existing poll for you at the bottom
  16. Should be a good event, Beaver Run usually sells out so keep in mind to sign up early.
  17. To please the masses, I wouldn't go but other might be interested to have it again. You get it open and I will add it, until then get back to doing math like a good Asian!
  18. Added a poll to the thread to see what track people would be interested in the most.
  19. No way that is going to work, way too far to get a large majority to get the day for us as a whole.
  20. Who won last year? I did my roster at the beginning of the year and never looked at it again haha
  21. Gaige, Wrobel, and Grey were donig 1:07's-1:08's
  22. If you are paying I am all for it:D
  23. Have fun, maybe once I graduate grad school I will be able to do Barber.
