I just got mine a few weeks ago...i think it took 3-4 weeks.
-
Wow, that sounds like fun...I doubt I can take two weeks to do it. A few of us are planning a backpack only trip this year...2-3 days of riding...kinda lame after I see your agenda. Baby steps...
-
Yep...I did this with my CBR at HNW. No key required.
-
I suggest core training...deadlifts are key. However, before you start I'd go see a doctor to make sure there's nothing physically wrong.
-
That's pretty sad.

I guess I missed out. Anyway, I was amazed at the number of motorcycle fatalities that occurred while I was there...most were alcohol related. We went up to the Iron Horse Saloon, I think, which is north of daytona. The police presence was definitely in full force. Everyone coming from Daytona had to cross over the median to get in to the place and the police were stationed right in the median. I guess the 'northern' police dept. was short on money because they were writing citations left/right. I got a warning for having my visor open. It was hot and we were moving 5mph max - bs. An older couple on a cruiser were getting a fine for not having the proper eye protection. I know Holier than Thou posters on this site will be in agreement with the police...but I feel it was quota-type b.s. There's a lot worse going on during bike week....

Sorry, I don't have a price for ya. My guess is that it's way over priced. They have a used Honda TRX 300/350EX (not sure which) there. I'm also not sure on the year. However, I have a 2003 400ex and I paid roughly 2600 for it (private). They wanted the same for this POS quad which had bald tires, rusty frame and other parts, and plastics that were in very bad shape. Another quick reason as to why it's probably over-priced. When I bought my new R1 there, I traded in my old CBR600 F3. I got 3k for it, which was my goal (I paid $4500, rode it for 3 years, dropped it once, put 12k miles on it). I had to go back to Hinds to deliver them a spare key and the owner's manual for it...The CBR was out on the sales floor with a $5200-$5300 price tag on it. My advice, buy private

I've been to Daytona Bike Week for the entire week in '04...and it gets boring. It's like QS&L bike night but for 7 days in a row and longer times each day. You'll be amazed at how much beer is drank and how little riding people do. The Cabbage Patch wrestling is a must see, however.
-
I saw a wrecked one at Hinds about two weeks ago. Rash all down the right side.

This is what I have too. However, I do not use these connections. On the R1, i just attach the alligator prongs to the battery while it's still on the bike. I did this with my CBR as well. Never had a problem. When I start my bike, i disconnect the prongs.

I try to wave when it's convenient for me. I don't go out of my way to do it...and I don't care if they don't wave back. It's like giving a gift, you don't give someone a gift expecting one back...you give them a gift because you want to give them a gift! Same goes for the 'wave'.

I was faced with the same decision. I chose #1. I didn't feel like dealing with the mud today.

The Poster Formerly Known As Putty (PFKAPutty) and I went out for a bit. I washed my bike before we went...hit 315 north of 270...now I need to wash it again :| Oh well, it was sooooo nice to get out - I needed a day like today. PFKAPutty was mounted on VIXN2 and he looked like a lil' b*tch We saw quite a few bikes on the road...spring is right around corner!!!

You totally need luevers and a firebird painted on the hood!!! oh, don't forget the footprint gas pedal.

yeah...that might be funny. You're right...most people on this forum ride metric/rocket bikes (i never heard them called that before). Anyway, you're still welcome here...and along for rides. Don't let an ignorant few...or folks who are just joking...around upset you. How long have you had your Sportster? Most people that I know...who get a Sportster for their first bike have it one season and then they go bigger. Just curious...

It's tough to compare insurances based on yearly price alone. Some maybe rockin' the "SafeAuto" minimum coverages on their policies, which for a home owner you probably don't want to do. If you crash in to a nice car and you don't have enough coverage, they might come after your other possessions. With that said, you might not care what your deductible is...you might end up 'totaling' your bike with a decent accident or you might just fix yourself, without insurance if you don't do much damage. Anyway, here's what my $400.76 get me each year. Liability Bodily Injury $100,000/300,000 Property Damage $100,000 Cost: $46.74 $250 Deductible Comprehensive Cost: $64.56 $500 Deductible Collision Cost: $187.37 Uninsured Motor Vehicle Bodily Injury $100,000/300,000 Cost: $102.08

State Farm. I go with Chuck Layne (sp) in Hilliard. He's on Cemetery Rd. I think I pay $420(might be less) per year for full coverage. I forget my deductibles and other important details. When I had my CBR 600, i paid under $200...so I'm guessing you'll pay some place in between. When I got my CBR, State Farm wouldn't insure just a bike for I had to transfer my car over too. I had great rates for my car via Erie, but figured I'd save money since the bike was so cheap (compared to others). So I transferred. When I bought my house, my new insurance company would give me better overall rates for everything that I needed to insure if I did multiple policies. So when I called State Farm to cancel my policy, they stated that I could keep my CBR there, even though I didn't have a car with them. So, you might be ok with transferring your bike there without additional policies Also, go to any dealership, they can probably refer you to some 'shady' insurers who will do it cheaper. Again, check the deductibles and other important details!

Where has Shitty been?! Sinner, I PM'ed him about getting some work done after you busted my chops for being lazy...no response. I haven't seen him online either. Did he and Putty team up on the OR.net boycott?! -
I looked in to this phone when I bought about 1 month ago. I found the keys to be tiny...and I have skinny fingers.

Coshocton is a nice place to ride. Bananas and I took two rides there this year. The first time we ate at this place right next to the river...in some cool shopping/sight-seeing area. I forget the name. On our second ride, we had more folks...Cleaner, MrBret, XB12reasdfasdf (forget his nic), and a few others. There are quite a few nice roads there...I'll be sure to head that way this spring! Welcome!

Titleist roll socks!!!

I prefer black on black shell-toed Adidas...low tops. There's nothing better than being comfortable while standing next to your bike at Taco Hell.
