You should be fine if you have something in the middle to tie off on. I "was" going to put two bikes in my truck (dodge 1500) but I didnt have a tie-down in the center. I didnt feel like modifying my truck to add one.

Do you think they'd let me test drive it first?

Yeah, I like animals more than I like most humans, so I'm glad to see tax money well spent.

Flounder, Putty, Al (not on the forum) and I went to Wayne Nat'l Forest to ride dirty. Flounder wrecked a few times and broke down (unrelated). Al got tired within the first 10 minutes and thought about quitting. I had the worst wreck of the day. And Putty...well, he did what he does best: Putty stayed clean. We found a decent little jump on one of the trails and decided to take some "action" photos. Here's the jump: Flounder grabbing some air: Here's Al on the 700 Raptor: Me (pre-wreck): Putty...thinking he's on XGames: Unfortunately for your entertainment, no video/pictures were taken of my wreck...but here are the details... We found a nice hill climb area. Putty and I did this hill climb the first time we went out. There are a few different routes to the top of the hill. Putty claims I always attempt the hard part...maybe he was right this time. Anyway, Putty goes up first...no problems. Before he can come down...I go. The first time I attempted this hill, I took it slow...and barely made it...I almost stalled/flipped a couple of times. So this time I was poised to take it faster. I started out fairly well, and thought to myself that "Yeah...going faster makes this hill hellava lot easier!". Well, about 7/8ths up the hill, my quad stalled! It didn't sputter or give me any fair warning...it just quit...and quit quickly. I grabbed all of the front brake...but being on the steepest part of the hill...well, the front brake didnt do too much for me. I heard people yelling for me to bail off. I did. I was unharmed. The quad..."not so much". It got sideways on me...I thought "Grab it!!!". I couldnt. It flipped about 5 times as it went back down the hill and smacked in to a tree. I think I'm happy that it smacked in to a tree...otherwise, it might still be rolling. Anyway, I bent my handle bars...my levers, and my steering stem. I'm happy this wasnt my R1...for replacement parts are totaling about $80. After resting a bit and cleaning the shit out of my pants...the 400ex started right up...I found some other riders to help me bend my bars in to a ride-able position and to adjust my levers. Now, I'm still wondering about why it would stall so quickly and without warning. I was going much faster than I did the first time I went up this hill. I have two thoughts as to why it stalled: 1. Low on gas and/or not enough gas getting in to the carbs... I have to discount this one quickly for two reasons...i did this hill before and it stalled too suddenly. 2. I hit the kill switch. This reason is more plausible because when my quad finally stopped rolling down the hill...the kill switch was pushed to the right. No dirt on it. I'm thinking I bumped it with my thumb while standing for the hill climb. Any suggestions?!??! Flounder's bike quit on him near the end of the ride. Luckily for all of us, he was on TOP of the mountain and the parking lot was at the BOTTOM of the mountain. Once at the bottom, I towed his azz back to the truck via a tie-down. Flounder, did you figure out what's wrong with your POS??? Funny, I now have rescued Flounder and Putty in the Hocking Hills area.

"Oh, i cant ride in the dirt on saturday. My neck hurts and my girl will be ticked at me." - flounder What he really means by this is: "Putty wont be around...so I'm not gonna ride, I'm a big smelly vagina!" What a pu55y!

Putty, Flouder and I went to Wayne Nat'l Forest this weekend to ride dirty. We all wrecked at least once, but unlike street riding, you dont have to worry about the road rash. Anyway, here are some pics... No matter if it's the street or the dirt...Putty's rides are always clean! Flounder preparing for the ride... Our first break...after about 50 minutes of riding... Flounder...the caveman... Putty and I towards the end of the day... Putty...thinking he's the fastest on street and trail... Shockin' em...

This is getting to be a big hassle. According to Wayne NF website (http://www.fs.fed.us/r9/wayne/recreation_sites/trail_permits/trail_permit.html#WHERE%20DO%20I%20GET%20THE%20PERMIT%20FROM) we will need two permits to ride. DO I STILL NEED A State of Ohio All-Purpose-Vehicle (APV) STICKER? Yes. In addition, State of Ohio legislation (House Bill 611) requires owners of All Purpose Vehicles (APVs) and off highway motorcycles to obtain certificates of title for their vehicles prior to new registration or renewal of their registration. Registration stickers are obtained from the State of Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV). Out-of-state visitors must purchase either a temporary registration or a standard Ohio motorized registration from the Ohio BMV. Click here to see the law (amended on June 30, 2005). Ohio APV registration is available at the nearest Bureau of Motor Vehicles office. The Wayne National Forest does not receive any funding from the sale of the State of Ohio APV stickers. NOTE: The Wayne National Forest (WNF) All-purpose Trail Permit is different from the State of Ohio APV registration sticker. Wayne National Forest's All-purpose Trail Permit may be purchased from any WNF district offices or local participating vendors. The State of Ohio APV registration sticker, however, can only be obtained from your State BMV offices. Riders are required to obtain both the WNF trail permit and the State of Ohio APV registration sticker before riding WNF trails. Click here for information on what you need to obtain an APV sticker. (note: both this link and the one below leave the Wayne website.) So, we'll need a APV and WNF. I'm guessing we'll need proof of insurance...but I hope i'm wrong. I'm going to the BMV tomorrow. hopefully they'll steer me in the right direction. Here's the BMV information. http://www.bmv.ohio.gov/misc/APV.htm

I'm getting my title transferred tomorrow. I'll look in to this and let you know.

Here's some info on Wayne Nat'l... http://www.fs.fed.us/r9/wayne/recreation_sites/orv.html

I think Wayne Nat'l Forest is in hocking. I'd rather ride trails than a track this weekend.
-
Yeah...we didnt have bikes/quads until 1 week ago. And I will take you up on that offer of riding at your parents' house. This saturday we're supposed to go down to Wayne Nat'l Forest. Not sure on the specifics. We still need to buy the permit.

I did some riding in PA this weekend. There are some nice trails and hill climbs back in my old stomping grounds... The tree I up-rooted: Looking down from a hill climb: A couple of scenic pics from atop a slag dump Homemade race track A tough hill climb that we did...I dont think the picture does it justice. A very tough hill climb my buddy did, it was practically straight up/down. (I wussed out)
