I wouldn't mind keeping the scope and bipod so I'd sell just the gun and ammo for $250 as well.

One of the reasons I like the 6.8 AR I built it can adequately handle anything I would be hunting in Ohio, I'd like to take it out of state to get a deer with it or do some hog eradication down south.

Im guessing it was a rem 770 and not a 700 you saw. To answer your question though I would go with a Ruger American in .308 they are affordable and a good deal for the money with a nice trigger for an entry level gun.
