  1. If you are buying from family (aka, trustworthy source) you absolutely do not need an separate attorney unless you are paying CASH.

If you are getting financing, attorney reviewed title work is part of the services you pay for as part of that transaction. Any LO with half a brain can write up the FSBO contract, and your good to go. No point in paying for the attorney work twice, since you will already be paying for it!

  2. I'm looking to avoid a PMI payment.

If your credit score is good, your PMI is next to nothing. I can guarantee that money would be better served in either 1) a reserve account 2) aggressive investments 3) a Combination of both.

Many Credit unions have in-house 10-15% down no PMI products.

  3. Honestly, I don't know why anyone would look at a 944 when 928's exist? they are so close in price and upkeep and the 928 is a way better car (v8, rwd, backseat, and squashed ACM pacer styling)

Ever drove an NA 996 or 997? They need more power to loo, but if you buying that, you buying 1) Looks 2) Handling 3) Clout. IMO.

Looks-wise, I find the 944 much more attractive.

  4. Apparently they have reopened as Pacemakers Outlaw Dragstrip. Looks like they are going to be specializing in the no-prep stuff. Makes sense to me based on the way things are going. No prep, and no timing system makes it cheaper and easier.

Yup, they just had their first even there last weekend.

  5. Hey OP (and any other parents). Read this twice....

all the advice above about working for it is spot on. my parents just paid for tickets and car damage with little punishment. 4 reckless driving tickets all over 120mph and a 40 page driving record... i only stared caring when i had to fund a car replacement myself and having to pay 550 for one month for car insurance to get a title transferred. no tickets since 2009. i mean cutting lawns for the eldery for free may end up becoming a lawn car business down the road.

The teen school is a basic driving class. Nothing close to racing - basic car control skills only. I can't imagine how bad of a driver my son would have been without that class. :)

I (and the other 99.9% of drovers) did not take a driving class at a race track, and we are doing OK. :dumb: I am not saying it is wrong, I just wonder if this and taking the kid to the drag strip sets the wrong precedent...

  6. Both of my kids did the Mid-Ohio teen school and both had accidents. .

we took her to the drag strip and let her do a “run what you brung” to learn there are ways to go have fun in your car safely…

    I see a theme here...

Hindsight is always 20/20, but I think there is a fine line between bringing your kids into "the hobby" and showing them "Racing is fun" Kids are kids, and with varying levels of emotional intelligence I am not sure all of this is a great idea.

Moving forward, having her pay for the repairs, insurance cost in perpetuity...ect is a must IMO. Grounding won't teach her much in the long run.

  7. Hey ya'll

Busy with life and posting less than I used to, but the Hobo has had a busy season. Hurt a motor at the first IFO this year in the Semis. Nothing avoidable, just 5+ year old rods that prob should have been replaced 3 years ago. :lolguy:

So I slapped together a motor from what I had laying around and ended up taking the win at IFO at D42 in a tight race with fellow CR OG Jordan in his GTR (Sorry Jordan!)

Also have been very into prep's as of late. Unfortunately, I lost a gear racing a very nice 91mm blown stang that ended up winning No Prep up north. I went to the next event at Magnolia, and called him our first round, I wanted blood!

That sucker rolls out, but I took the win!

Unfortunately, that race did not finish up due to a big wreck, but I am excited for the next one. If you guys have not been to one, its a MUST attend event. Best energy I have seen in drag racing in a long time.

  8. I was 20 feet from all of this. It's not as simple as an innocent guy loading up his car to leave getting shot. His crew and the people with the truck were arguing for a solid 10-15 minutes before this happend. There are several things that escalated this, there are several things that could have prevented this. It sucks and I wont make light of his passing, but this could have easily been prevented and his family is a BIG reason why this escalated to the level that it did.
  9. well, there would be a dead body and eyewitnesses, so yes, it's more likely than not that we would.

Let's be real for a second, without a video that went viral, there is a ZERO percent chance it would have had the effect it had, even in the local communtiy. There is also NO chance you would have even been aware of it.

The internet is absolutely a blessing and a curse, and to this day I cant figure out which it is more of.

  10. I had a good time, sorry to see your car broke. Did you figure out what it was?

Yeah, AL Rods don't work so well after 5 years of abuse! :lolguy:

Qualified first in the field, it was my race to lose. Pretty disappointed, but that's racing!

I already tossed a motor together with spare parts (literally) and it should be in tomorrow to prepare for a NO PREP race I will be running Saturday.

  11. However, as an investor I've made some substantial money on bitcoin, ethereum and litecoin. I took profits out, but have kept a considerable amount in all three for the long term. At this point, I think everyone should own at least one bitcoin, but time will tell.

How are you looking today? Ready to buy a Chiron I bet. :)

  12. Can give it to yourself in the thigh or wife gives it to me in the butt (not like it sounds).

Do you plan to injector yourself indefinitely? I like the idea of test, I could use another 30lbs of MEAT, but what's the end game? Thats where I am hesitant...

  13. What was your test score on the blood work?

I've been on weekly test shots since my late 30's and It's not like you feel night and day better, you just feel normal again all the time. I was having energy issues, mood swings, and I had gained weight. Part of it was me being lazy in my late 30's, part of it was I had test scores in the low 200's. Nugenix doesn't fix this stuff, Those specialized test only clinics are out to sell you stuff not properly treat you and that said Test alone doesn't fix it either if you've developed bad habits. My Dr. is a urologist that specializes in hormones, I can provide you his info if interested.

Weekly test? You inject yourself? Want to sell some? :lolguy:

  14. You might be surprised, I did a similar trip years ago with two jet skis in my loaded down 4Runner and only lost 1-2 mpg the entire trip.

    Tom

Don't 4 Runners get shit fuel mileage anyways?
