You only need to resync if you break the bank?
-
The write up looks good but there are a few unanswered questions in it. Like the the syncro question. If I fuck up taking these apart, can anyone help putting them back together?
-
I will probably just have to take the damn thing to a mechanic. OH well.

+1 for the rafters and straps. Although I used heavy duty hooks screwed into the rafters.

have you checked your tank vent?
I have not, are you talking about the rubber hose coming off the bottom of the tank?

I need to clean the carbs in a last ditch effort to try and get the bike running right before taking it to a mechanic and spending money the wife wont let me touch. It runs rough after riding it for about 15-20 mins. I can still ride it on the freeway but it definately runs rough. If it sits for awhile its fine again until after another 15-20 mins. I have the carbs exposed but what now? Should I just take the float bowels off with the carbs still attached? Or do I need to take the carbs completely off? What is the process to get these cleaned out? The bike is a 98 cbr900rr that I put together last year. It ran great for a few months and then this problem. I replaced the plugs right after the problem started but it still happened. Any ideas? Thanks

Looking for a write up on replacing fork seals on 98 900rr. Thanks

What kind of bike?
I'm about 7 miles north of the 70/75 interchange on 75.
Might be a bit far from you I think. It's a solid hour and 30 minute drive, if not a bit more.
Sorry, I bought a few 900rr's and put them together to make one bike. The bike is all together but I needed to make some adjustments to make everything work. This is the the reason I really dont want to take to a dealership. The bike is a 98

I can do all that stuff, but I'd much rather have it at my garage.
Where is Tipp City and ball park me a price. Thanks

Not looking for a shop. Looking for an independent mechanic to come do some work on the bike preferably at my house( I have tools). Need to probably have carbs cleaned. Figure out why I dont seem to have front brakes even after bleeding. Probably need front seals. And need to figure out what kind of electrical issue is causing my bike not to charge every time. Looking for someone honest and reasonably priced. Have open garage and tools to do work in. Thanks

Anyone interested in going to a cheap clippers game one night? Tickets are cheap, and dime a dog nights are on may 5th and may 26th.

I very rarely ride my 98 cbr 900rr. All primered.

Go to j&j auto upholstery, over by cooper stadium.

I took the bike out last saturday and when I got home, I saw a bolt that I would almost 100% swear is off the bike, laying at the foot of my driveway. I have gone over the bike but cant seem to figure out where it came from. I have seen the exact same bolts on other parts of the bike. Any way that they only use specific types of bolts for certain pieces. Or is there any way that I see this type of bolt on lets say a brake componet, that this is the only type bolts used for such. If that makes any sense to anyone. Its got me freaked to ride.

Have any better/bigger pics?

Completely torn down to the bolts. If you need anything just ask. Some stuff is sold but I still have almost everything. Thanks. Selling stuff cheap.

We have a carb parts cleaner at work. Vibrates the cleaner to thoroughly clean the carbs. However, I have to figure out if I can clean the carbs as one piece or if I need to disassemble first.

I have a 98 cbr 900rr bike and it recently started running rough about 1/2 way through my 20 min ride to work. It has done this several times now. I replaced the plugs last night hoping to fix the problem, but it did it again this morning and on the way home. It starts out just fine, however around 10mins of riding, it feels short on power, sputtering through the exhaust and just running rough. It definately sounds rough however it does feel like it still has decent power when I hit it. Any suggestions? More history, I bought the bike this year wrecked. Repaired it and rode it without any issue until now.

Looking to trade my kawasaki 900zxi jetski for another sportbike. Its a 96 and comes with trailer. Runs and looks good. Has normal wear. The trim motor quit working in 97 so it was taken off and never replaced but it runs fine without it. Pretty fast. Fun to ride. Looking for an even up trade for another sportbike. If interested, just let me know what you have thanks. Also its for sale if someone wants to make an offer.

I just got back in town and the box is still here where I left it. Whats the deal?
-
18 1/2" x47''x 20 1/2" heres my dimensions. But the top slides on and off so the 20 1/2" side can be raised another 18" maybe and taped so it wont slide all the way down. Its a good box not 100% perfect.

Oh and its a heavy duty box, cardboard. Not one of the flimsy ones. It has a cardboard lid that slides over the top.

The carbs are off and I have taken off the cups, removed the floats. These areas appear to be very clean. Now what do I need to do with these covers off? I see what appears to be the needles. Are there more than 1. Do I need to take these out and if so how do I get them put back in the right way? Do you sync lastly?
