  1. I have nothing but good to say about Iron Pony..I bought my bike there, and they treated me great, and I feel I got a fair deal.... Just a couple of weeks ago I took it back to get the ECU, and plugs changed per the service bulliton..They did a great job while I waited...I'm very impressed with Pony Powersports both the sales, and service departments personnell..

    Good people !!!!

  2. the route and meet up location sounds good to me, hope for more input from others.

    1. Would like to keep the equation simple, just meet and ride and finish it with no lunch in between. met time around 11 means lot of time for late brunch before ride :D The post ride "grab a bite" would let it be decided on the individual basis if they have time for it etc. almost all of the neo guys far Sw guys would prefer to take off to reach home before dark.

    2. The second day of riding also would be decided by individual basis, many peeps seems to stay back and its worth it to ride the next day also as seo has lot to offer. I guess its better to plan it on the go, based on who is showing up etc, outside the main ride plan to make it less complicating.

    3. Hopefully some of you guys can do the scout run of the route to see if the roads are in decent condition and meet spot and gas stop are good locations etc. The last two years we were fortunate to have no bad incidents and good clean roads played a big role in it.

    4. Will need volunteers for lead and sweep, we might have to do upto 7 groups even if weather turns out to be awesome.

    5. Keep sunday as a rain day if saturday is rainy? or entirely new weekend? thoughts?

UP had send me couple more details and instructions, i will update the first post with it soon.

    Good plan.....

  3. I won't buy anything that isn't waterproof either....If you ride much you will be riding in rain.

Gear is important to me, I have a ton from years of riding.

I have a Firstgear Jaunt T2 jacket, that I can say is 100% waterproof, and has decent venting, I'll wear it until it gets in the 80's, then I'll wear a air jacket, I have a couple different ones, when it rains I put the waterproof liner on under it. I also have a Belstaff jacket that I wear a lot..

For pants I have a pair of Aerostitch Darian's, and a pair of Firstgear TPG's. Both 100% waterproof. I always wear them. When it's hot, you can unzip the sides, and open the vents, and wear shorts under them.

For boots, I like Alpinestars Ridge...also 100% waterproof, I wear them all the time.

I have several pairs of gloves. Below 70's or so, i wear waterproof Joe Rocket, or Alpinestars gloves, above 80's I wear air gloves....

When riding usually I don't even have to stop if it starts raining, unless it's hot, then I need to change gloves, and put on my liner....

Nothing worse than being wet/cold when riding...It took me many years to figure all of it out...I once road to Daytona in the early 70's with a Army Fatigue jacket, work gloves, and a Bell Star helmet in March...On a H1 Talk about miserable.....

  4. We got a little group forming up, in Newark,

that is planning on riding down together.

If you want to join up with us, shoot me a

PM and we can all stay on the same page

as far as times, route, etc.

So far, it looks like it's me, Hutch, Mike_N92

and a couple of his friends, maybe.

    Jnor, how about you?

    .

    I'm in...........

  5. Hey everyone I would like to go just wondering if there are any beginner groups forming or maybe a slow and go group lol. Don't think I'm ready to be flying through turns just yet. Also is everyone staying in cabins most likely or just riding back after the group ride? I also might have 2 friends coming along. 1 is also on here and the other is not. Depends on how their bike situation works out.

Won't be a problem....the last time we split it up into 3 groups, and I think it worked out well for everybody.......

  6. My Versys still is my favorite bike ever.........It's a perfect touring bike...

If you want to run 80+ on the 4 lane it will do it. With a tail bag, and side bags it will haul a weeks worth of stuff with no problem...

Great ergo's, nimble/great in the twisties, good on the interstate....A 650 is plenty IMO

I like it far better than my DL1000...

Downside would be 2 up riding, which I dislike anyway...
