This past weekend I went to the gun show at the Franklin County Fairgrounds (Hilliard Ohio).  it's been a while since I went to this location - 10 years ago it was awesome and filled three buildings to the brim, but I think the Westland show took a lot of the vendors and it shrunk this one considerably.  Still, I was bored and didn't mind spending $6 on cheap entertainment.  It beats the going rate for hookers, cocaine and motorcycle parts, especially with Rider's Discount hanging out on the O.R. corner - that bastard sold me an awesome Zumo 390LM last month.

The show was still small especially compared to the always large and entertaining Dayton show, but I've seen in the past that if you're looking for something old, rare or off-beat, you're more likely to find it at little fairground shows like Hilliard than Westland, the latter of which seemed to trend more towards modern pistols and sporting rifles.  I've got nothing against modern stuff and own multiple items myself, but one gets tired of seeing them exclusively after a while.  There's more to life, man, like lever action guns and revolvers, ya know?

If you're ever around the Dayton show look for us. Our booth is Flores Leather Works. We haven't been to the Dayton show for a while but we will be there this weekend and next month. Its always good to see other OR peeps around.

  2. There are a lot of us who lived on this site back in the day. It's still a great community and Ben is still doing what he does best by making this place a killer. I wish I still had the time to come around these parts as often as I used to.

I vote for a 10 year Anniversary scavenger hunt.

  3. We have had our 2014 since november of last year and love it. You will have no problem hauling a small trailer. I haul a 17ft boat behind ours all the time. It trailers great. If you are wanting to take advantage of the 4x4 just make sure you get a locking rear diff. best $250 you will spend on a factory option ever. I think the sahara and rubicon come with them but not the sport model. And the newer autos are a 6spd so that helps a ton with gas mileage. I have a handful of complaints but they are minor and only about interior setup. You will have plenty of room for the whole family and the seats fold down flat so i use it like a truck a good amount of the time.

  4. The Adobe Creative Suite is a must if she wants to create a foundational knowledge in the field. It is very inexpensive and depending on the school they can sometimes get copies of premier versions. Yes, even high schools or jr. high. Just get in contact with the tech department at the school, if they have one.

  5. Awesome tell him to keep it up. I've been a bass player for over 1/2 my life now. I have loved every moment of it and it is a skill and passion that has taken me a lot of places I could have never imagined going. If he needs any help or outside direction let me know and I will do my best I can at helping him.

  6. They are changing it, they've already doubled the rounds for this coming season. KRAVE will be good for it, I've no doubt.

I have no doubt KRAVE will be great for racing here and that one of the main reasons Mid-Ohio is not on that list is because it is so geographically close to indy and their better off spreading out the events. But I would hope that Mid-Ohio is on the list within two seasons otherwise I will start to doubt KRAVE's ability to run a great series. Especially considering Mid-Ohio's location in regard to the AMA's headquarters and what it means to the AMA to have a local event to showcase to contributors to the organization.

  7. Good riddance I say. A 200 mile trip around Daytona on 600's is not so much of a spectacle. The only way to make that race worthwhile is setting it up like the 8 hour. I don't see a lot of riders or teams that even see the 200 as a way to truly make money. What I am most upset about right now is no Mid-Ohio on the calendar.

  8. I know he made it as confusing as possible, but he traced the "leak" back to a false source that motorcycle.com "verfied" as being true. I could not find a more thought out article but there seems to be a media uproar about to go down about the validity of this idea of a new H2 made by Kawi being true. So don't hold your breath in waiting for a new Kawi H2. It seems to be a hoax that made its way into the realm of the real world.

  9. I'm with you parks, the only time you see him is when he crashed. I knew this was coming.... I figured they would keep him until Indy then let him go. The first couple of races for him were excused because of Zarco slipping up as well. After that though Zarco has landed on the podium and then on pole last week, fighting for the lead and the podium the whole race. I was constantly looking to see if I could pick out Herrins name on the top 21 list on the side of the screen and it was nowhere to be found. I'm sure it's discouraging for the kid but you can't put any blame on the team. And thus year seems to be the year everyone is letting go of riders mid season.

  10. Not at the top level, but I'd like to see a pro-am superstock 600cc class that allows very few mods.  Keep the costs relatively low for racers who want to be competive on the track, but can't match $$ of the fast teams.

That would be a great way to see who has enough talent to move to the next level.

That would be a great way to think about growing the championship now, in the future though, you are going to have to look at going with a Moto2/3 setup otherwise your going to see just another great championship like the BSB. Which I am sure is what DORNA does not want. Big picture has to look like the Spanish CEV, there's at least one reporter in every press conference asking why there are no more Americans and why the Spanish and Italians seem to be ruling the Motogp championships. Simple answer, the CEV. It offers every opportunity in the world for young riders to excel in the sport and it rewards young talented riders. This is what DORNA wants and why I believe they got involved with an American road racing series. If the riders get rewarded so will they, financialy of course.

Secondly, Moto2 and Moto3 machines are actually affordable. More affordable than most think. You can pick up a used Moto2 bike for anywhere between $60,000 and $90,000 that may even be cheaper now than I last checked now that the CEV series has flooded the market. And Moto3 bikes are about half of that. And if you follow both series you know that it is very rare that anyone gets away in those races. The racing is always close, offering an opportunity for anyone to run at the front.

  11. I am hoping a lot will come of this. I'm not sure how I feel about DORNA backing this project, since they really are an outsider in the picture, but I'm going to remain positive about this one. Anything is more positive than the sorry excuse for a racing group called the DMG. I am hoping for a Moto2 and Moto3 style setup with a Superbike series as the main event. Fingers crossed.....
