And the P226 and P228 slides are stainless, too - but they were initially stamped then milled (9mm) - vs. the milled slide introduced with the P229 (for the higher pressure .40) - now I think they are all milled from a solid chunk.

Interesting that one would think that any SIG that isn't the 1st generation is a bad gun. I have a stainless slide NH Sig that shoots 2 inch groups or less at 25 yards, and has not jammed once. All 229's for that matter have the stainless slide to withstand the .40 round. Just clarifying any misconceptions of the Sig, with that said I haven't seen a bad Sig yet.

The new 2013 CBR600RR, it looks like a down syndrome bike.

You need to lean with the bike when going more than 5mph. Otherwise your fighting the bikes natural characteristic of leaning into a turn. Also as stated before maintain throttle control, if need be at low speed maintain the throttle at a constant rpm and modulate with the clutch.

Right, like I said to my state rep. there are many more motorcyclist on the road today than even 10 years ago. So why not make it more motorcycle friendly?

This video is not relevant to the topic, I'm talking about filtering at low speeds for better flow of traffic. Not weaving in and out of traffic, doing wheelies, and flying in between cars at an excess of 25 MPH.

From a pure safety standpoint:

Filtering stopped traffic at a slow speed - yes, it gets you out of a potential pinch point

Splitting moving vehicles - no, it puts you into a situation where a moving vehicle may merge quickly while only observing the spot they are moving into; not expecting a motorcycle to be splitting traffic

Never stop directly behind anything always stay to the right or left of it and watch your mirrors and if needed move up next to the vehicle in front of you. Always leave yourself a way out.

I'm not talking about the lack of defensive riding. But accidents do happen everyday. Yes, cover your brakes (both brakes), clutch, and watch your mirrors. Be defensive, but you don't seem to understand the benefits over the risk. If you want to eliminate all risk then go drive something with 4 wheels.

I just finished writing my congressman about the possibility of passing a law allowing lane splitting. The reason I brought this up was the increased number of people I have talked to that have either been rear ended on a motorcycle or have known someone who was rear ended by a motorcycle. A sad fact is that some of these people didn't live through the accident. I always stare at my mirrors after stopping at an off-ramp wondering if the 2-3 ton vehicle coming up behind me is paying attention, and not texting or messing with their radio. If we could get lane splitting to be legalized in Ohio I believe that these fatalities could be avoided. I'm not saying that we should fly by other cars at a high rate of speed. I'm talking about having the ability to filter to the front of at light where traffic is 25 MPH or slower.

Of course, if you read the OP it stated possibly writing a letter to our congressman. To possibly see off e could get a law passed.

I have been doing some research and found that most of the world allows lane splitting for motorcyclist. It has been proven to be a safe economical way for motorcyclist to get around, plus takes the chance of being rear-ended out of the equation. The only problem is that in America it is only legal in California. So what is to stop the other 49 states to pass legislation to allow this? So if I were to call my congressman and see about passing such a law, will you do the same? Any thoughts on this topic?

Welcome, I live in the Milford area where my friends and I frequent. There are also some awesome roads just across the river in Ky.

2nd day of spring and its going to be a high of 42 degrees... I'm ready for a change in the weather.

But, where you wearing your gear while doing it?

I can see the crossbow being accurate out to 100 yards. The rate of drop off of the bolt has nothing to do with weight of the bolt but the ballistic coefficient of the bolt and the speed of the bolt could tell you that.

Needless to say I haven't pulled this trick since lol.

I used to be really good at pulling to a parking spot and right as I would come to a stop without putting my feet down I would flick the kickstand down, lean to the left and hop off the bike as it rested on the kickstand. All of this would take place within a second with the balancing act. Except for one day I forgot something at my house right as I left, so in a hurry I turned around to grab my "phone" (I can't remember what it was I forgot) and I thought I had pulled this trick again. Only this time my foot didn't catch the kickstand. So with me throwing the bike to the left for the kickstand to catch with no kickstand, I got pinned between a bush next to my driveway and my bike. Luckly neither I or the bike had a scratch.

What I don't understand is why wouldn't they (the government) notify the residents in the immediate area about the training exercise. That is if their intentions where honest. I don't mind my government doing training exercises, as long as they are accountable to the American citizens. At least that's how its supposed to work. Do you think the government would be O.K. With a few hundred citizens with flying licenses flying their helicopters (legally) and armed (again legal), then firing some blanks.... If that were to happen we would be shot down within minutes. But, its O.K. for them to do it. Gotta love that standard.
