I’m curious about the plan to tax firearms and ammo to fund mental health services. I don’t necessarily hate the idea but why would we tax recreational shooters as a way to “help” the real underlying cause? Whatever tax may be implied would not be substantial enough to be a deterrent against violence. It’s like admitting mental health is the real issue while continuing to demonize firearm ownership in the name of “justice”.

Same issue with consolidated electric again as I did last year this time. I remember making a post about it and disabling the emergency coils. $691 fucking bill this month. This year they refuse to check my meter again. Coils are still disabled. Heat pump still only cycles once or twice an hour. Solar and a pellet stove are happening this summer.

Have you seen how the IRS is treating this as property vs capital gain for reporting losses. And 2018/9 tax returns will be heavily audited because of this.

 

Only thing I read was that coinbase is required to report transactions of a certain amount. I don’t have enough in to take a huge loss or worry about an audit. Just a reminder of how late I was to the party.

Chatted with a Chase personal assistant today about bitcoin/Coinbase issues. They are not flagging all transactions but would not say which ones they do/do not. It will probably be in an updated user agreement very soon. They plan to flag all outgoing and incoming transactions after their legal department is done with their side. So now I’m looking at intermediary measures. If the transaction goes through another means (paypal, etc) before Chase then its a non issue.

 

But again....this is from the mouth of a banking assistant. Whatever weight that holds.
