You mean why didn't I? I got out because my CO denied me and another buddy of mine from going over to our Battalion's scout sniper platoon. They wanted some Combat Engineers over there for demo, and to be some more shooters. Our CO basically told us fuck no, we need you 2 in the company. So we got out since they fucked up our re-enlistment. We went to a crash sniper course when we got our M14's, but it wasn't but 5 days long and was pretty vauge.

I don't think it was honestly that much, I know it was relatively low in magnification, which makes it that much more impressive. That man will always be a legend.

There was another Marine sniper in Iraq, can't remember his name, but I read his biography too. It was very impressive, going from the Gulf War, to Somalia, then to OIF 1. He'd picked off quite a few during the Diyala bridge battle.

He did it with a 3X redfield scope I believe. His biography was a great read, especially the white feather aspect. Fucking baiting them to hit him That man had some real balls. But a 2,100 meter kill is extremely impressive non the less. Army snipers > Marine snipers

I took it with my buddies digi cam when I was roof top guard @ our patrol base in Tarmiya. Could be better on my myspace page http://www.myspace.com/scobilly Story: On roof top for 6+ hours, watching these 2 guys BS all day. Sunset is coming on, and it's maybe 5 or 6pmish, watch these 2 walk back into the shop. I sit there, smoke another cigarette, look back into my scope, and see in the way back of the shop, these 2 coming back out. This time they're packing, one had an RPG (guy in white) then out came guy in black with an RPK. I did a quick windage SWAG (scientific wild ass guess) on range, poped off first shot into guy in white. Hit him, guy in black is stunned as they're standing in the front of the shop, then I follow up with guy in black and crack off a round. Guy in white got one basically in the neck, the guy in black had a sucking chest wound. My platoon went out a few minutes later to give me the run down on what I did. I thought it was around 450ish meters, turned out to be closer to 500. Good thing I shot a lil high
