thanks! the only thing that needs attention is the tank, some scuffs a few small dents attack painter said he would do it cheap for me, but i jsut havent gotten around to do it. if the tank was mint id want a tad more for it, but id rather not deal with it, plus i didnt really mind it, i just like to ride it lol

  9. here is the skinny on this... you and the person who is on the title (tim, JD whoever the fuck it is on the title) got a letter both of you fill it out.. if it comes back both of you put it was zero dollars or whatever.. its all gravy.. basically they are checking to see if you both match up.. if not then both of you are screwed, more so you if he puts he sold it for x amount and you put $0 i had a similiar thing happen with a bike i bought, guy sold it to me, and title jumped (meaning he had a title that was signed off but his name wasnt on it, someone elses name was on it. (like your title) i got audited... he put $500 on the title.. well not being able to get ahold of the original guy (not the one i bought the bike from) i went to the title office (or wherever i had to go) in person and talked to someone, said hey, after getting this letter i wanted to pay what was the right amount... the guy i bought it off of got it off his friend and had a checp amount on the title, well after only having it a few day wanted to sell it and he title jumped. they basically said ok no problem, how much did you buy it for... i told them the real price and paid the taxes i needed to pay.. and never heard from them again.
  10. but for now.. prep your pieces to be painted.. sand with 320 grit if you have to fix any spots do so.. make sure everything is smooth as you can get. do it by feel, you may have high or low spots that need filled so correct those issues. after everything is sanded and good to go youll want to blow it off with compressed air get the dust off of it, and then spray some primer on it. i use either high build primer or regular primer, either or doesnt mater. make sure you put a few coats on, cause youll be sanding on it after wards. you want enough coats to fill in any small imperfections that way when you sand it out it will be even smoother than before. youll want to sand the primer with 400 grit when you start sanding youll see how there is orange peel in the primer, your goal is to get all the orange peel out and get it as smooth as possible. you might see high or low spots as well, try to get those evened out as well. if you think it isnt up to par yet, you can reprime it again, and repeat the sanding step again. once you are sure everything looks good then we will move on to the next step.. base coat which i will continue to write up on when i get back from work.
  11. the next piece i do.. which will be in a week, ill take pics, step by step. main thing you would need is a buffer. you can use a rubbing compound by hand, but it takes a long time, and yo wont get the same gloss as what i achieve with a machine buffer
  12. thanks.. wait till the whole things finished lol ill be putting it on hold though.. got some house work to do, before i get back on it.
