Some stuff will work between the two, but Honda didn't like to share cross-platform like Kawasaki did. Keep the photos coming! I vote for this as well! We should have a whole build section!

Tpoppa, you, me, and Burt Reynolds. When we're done here we'll all be wearing gold plated diapers.

I'm a sucker for almost any Z car, but the 240Z is on the bucket list. I guess dropping a small block V-8 is a pretty standard build-up. As far as oddball suggestions go: Porsche 914. Porsche style, mid-engine fun, half the price. 1971 Monte Carlo. Not like every other Monte out there, good lines, readily available after-market parts. And it was in the movie "Fast and Furious:Tokyo Drift" Seventies Camaro/Firebird - THE CAR THAT BURT REYNOLDS DROVE...nuff said. Scout or Scout II.

In no particular order: Sebring Satellite, Mercury Cougar, Buick Riviera. Lots of cross platform support (Mustang, Challenger/Charger, Monte Carlo) Pretty cheap to get because they aren't hot, but they've still got great lines. I'd even go VW Bug. Easy to work on, great support, still fairly cheap to get, and loads of possibility. If he's got a decent budget (around $10,000) then some of the replica kits are in reach, including the Model A, 32 Deuce, etc.

I'm selling some parts on eBay, if anyone is interested. CX 500 Gas Tank CB 550 Kei Hin carburetors ZX750F Rear Fairings, Brake Light, and Grab Bar I can cut a deal for Ohio-Rider members and cancel the auction. PM me

Two of the death machines are in holding patterns for completion, I'm lining up parts for the next project, and I want to get a little crazy. Does anyone have any leads on a salvage/junk air-cooled v-twin engine and drive train? Any make and size is fine. I'd ask around at work, but they're pretty anti-Harley.

Cross Fit work out of the day if you want some ass kicking in your regimen. And walk everywhere you can. Supplements are a waste of money across the board.

So any economy takes years to move and shift, but a former presidents economic policies have no factor whatsoever on the next president? I wish I could have my cake and eat it too. Or is that only when it involves a president whose politics you disagree with? I'll stand by my time estimate, and back it with the fact that most economic predictions on a full recover have all involved the word "years." Now would be a good time for you to insert a "hurr durr shark" or "LOLCat"...

I'm familiar with Krugman, don't agree with his school of economics very often, but he makes some valid points. But I don't understand where you're going with this. I made the point that economic policies take years to come to fruition (typically in the next presidency), but that was disputed. So I made the point that if our economy worked faster, then the stimulus should have had a faster effect. I'm not saying it didn't work, but the first round was passed by G.W before he left office. We should be seeing something more than stagnate unemployment, and a limping economy. Not much of a stimulus, nor much of a recovery. This is all dependent on the theory that our economy moves and reacts much faster.
-
If that was the case, then why does almost every business publication cite the mortgage bubble and bust as a main cause of the recession. And if our economies do react faster, why haven't the stimulus and bailouts rescued us all?
-
Why don't you read a book about economics and note that it trends roughly on an eleven year cycle. Decisions made now tend to have consequences further down the line. Case in point Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, they started securitizing loans in the nineties and early two thousands and combined with the 1996 HUD mandate that 42% of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loans be made to individuals below the median income in the homeowners area. And no, you're not understanding it correctly, but you're all "Johnny Big Balls" liberal right now, so I'm not going to waste my time explaining the basics of economics nor how our government actually functions.

I like that no one is denying the students left for this trip. Either school officials didn't supervise a group of students who left on a field trip during school hours or they breached a contract signed in 2002. Neither sounds like very responsible decisions. Nicely done Cincinnati Public Schools, nicely done.

That's the rub isn't it though, the solutions for right now are proving to be detrimental to the next generation(s). Clinton had such a solid economic measure because of a combination of Reagan's policies coming to fruition, inflationary (as in falsely increasing, not monetary) tactics like opening the federal petroleum reserves to deflate gas prices, and a few solid economic policies. (He wasn't all bad... I guess) G.W used projections based on the short-lived and ultimately false, Clinton boom to warrant and justify our tax cuts and stimulus checks. All of it was good in the short term, but culminated in to what we've got today. The difference our Founding Fathers had from us, was the ability to think to long term. That's one of the reasons we have three branches of government, the ability to amend the constitution, the electoral college (more necessary now than ever before I think), and other similar checks and balances. Lastly, Congress votes on the budget and other federal issues. Obama was a member of the senate before he became president, meaning Obama voted yes on a solid portion of the "mess" he inherited. As did the entire Democratic party...

The outage was unacceptable!!! I was forced to interact in the real world yesterday evening... I had no idea what I was doing there! I got punched in the face at least five times!!! Apparently my "Johnny Big Balls" status extends so far as the Ohio Riders politics forum... Seriously though, I don't see too many problems with the current forum setup on the user end. Keep up the good work, if you need help/beer let me know.

I'm trying to get this to come to the Columbus area, does anyone know a decent venue within 30 miles of Columbus or Columbus itself? Or some suitable substitute?

An Ohio-Riders sponsored demolition car would be genius!!! Close the thread! Go home, shows over.

We've had this discussion off and on at work. Basically, it's the bike you would build if the world was going end. What parts would you use and why? For example: The tank from an XS400. Never seems to rust out, basically indestructible. The gauges from a CX500. The whole bike could have t-boned a freight train at 150 mph, and the gauge cluster might, MIGHT, have a crack in it. And discuss.

Yeah I DVR'd it. Looks interesting.

Ha! As though our leaders are concerned about anything more than securing their reelection, and beating the other party. That's the revolutionary coming out again. Thank you.

If you can hold onto it: I'd wait until the first nice day of spring, then put it in your front yard "For Sale, $1500 obo" Bet you'll make a thousand easy.
